Unfortunately, I would run into dead-end after dead-end with the physical therapy and developed the belief that there was truly no solution for my body and that I was just not built for physical wellness. Therapists would assign me the same textbook routines over and over, but those routines would never result in what I would describe as even close to a success. The pain would linger on forever and the therapists would get frustrated and, to add literal insult to injury, put the blame on me. Then I began therapy with Andrea at Onward Physical Therapy. We have had approximately eight sessions together over the last few months and I have seen more progress in that time than ever before. She approaches rehab in a way that I have never experienced (and I have a LOT of data points). It is personalized, creative, and she monitors progress constantly. She is always challenging me to take that next step and believes fully that I will get better and return to the physical activities that I love. I am feeling that already and have no doubt she is right. She is also trained and highly skilled with dry needling, cupping, and manual soft tissue work in a way that has me feeling notably better after each session. My issue is an administrative one. The staff claimed to have pre-cleared my insurance, yet after all was said and done I got a bill from them. Months later insurance adjusted the cost and I got another bill from them. The pricing clearly reflects an institution which revolves around maximizing what your insurance will cover, then tacking on an additional "reasonable" fee 60-90 dollars for you to pay. This is dishonest. Even when I would go in for appointments, some of the practitioners were looking for how many appointments they could get out of my insurance without any consideration of whether my injury would require those appointments. I found this unethical and dishonest to be treated this way, especially as a healthcare worker myself. I am a real customer. I was kind and straight forward with you. Your staff was very kind and attentive to me. Your business model would do well to implement more financial honesty.
