They do not have levels of massages, it was way too deep and hard. I did ask for it to be softer but maybe she didn't speak english, there was no change. I brought a coupon from online where it was $50 for new customers but the man who checked us in said it was old (no expiration data listed) and he would not honor it. They had us take our boots off as soon as we walked in but that leaves the area wet so when we were finished and went to put the boots back on, the floor was wet. Went the first week it opened as I saw a review on here that I now believe was likely the owner. I got the 1hr "Foot" Massage which involves only 30 minutes on your feet and 30 minutes on the rest of the body over your clothes. The spa did appear clean and new. The staff spoke very little English and it was very hard to communicate with them but they were pleasant. 1st you put your feet in a wooden bucket lined with plastic bag and hot water. You are in an open room with multiple massage chairs and your shoes/belonging placed in a crate which was then placed under my head rest in the massage chair! I wore my gym sneakers and had to move the crate so that I wasn't just smelling my sneakers. I enjoyed the foot massage which just seemed too short. The rest of the massage was painful as I asked multiple times that I didn't want my lower back touched for chronic pain reasons - but given the language barrier it was almost as if they focused on this more. The only reason there are 2 stars is because I had a coupon and only paid 30.00 + tip - So I guess you get what you pay for. The sheets (body n foot) and blankets that are kept on you (when you have foot massages) are never washed, You will see the masseuses never change sheets... just arrange them after they are done. I saw ppl get their own sheets... I initially wondered why and now I understand. The donut holes are also not cleaned/sanitized (you can smell the oily sweat). This is in the midst of a pandemic. Think what the previous guy was wearing or probably nothing and then think of getting on those same sheets. The groupon coupons are highly discouraged there... also you might get half assed massages too if u get groupon. The masseuses talk ... a LOT and they scream, enough to hear them clearly in the body massage rooms too. Wonder how I know all this... This is THE worst establishment in the state of New York. It is not up to code, beyond dirty, bizarrely decorated with an ominous mounted deer head, and the receptionist was an absolute nightmare! She demanded I tip on subpar service, forcefully grabbed my card out of my hand and charged me for a tip, then proceeded to tip out the technician, in cash, on the spot (I don't think they are even paying their workers). This was the least relaxing experience imaginable, the receptionist (owner?) was beyond rude, yelled the entire time, and has zero people skills. If you have an area that is not comfortable to you, just explain this to them. They will focus on what is comfortable to you. I usually fall asleep during foot reflexology because it is so relaxing. Prices at Body Vital Spa are very affordable. Besides the specials that are offered on many discount sites, Body Vital Spa will offer you several discounts if you arrive without a coupon. At present, you can get a hour long foot massage for about thirty dollars plus tip. Prices, in general, are quite affordable for a range of budgets. My experience with the staff, in general, has been very positive. They all speak English to varying degrees and are willing to find out what is comfortable to their clients. Certainly, those who have trouble with someone with a non-NYS accent and/or have struggles with interacting with people who are culturally different may need to practice some patience. We used groupon instead of paying the normal price & from there you can already tell she wasn't happy, even with only a $3 difference. She angrily took her payments, I felt as if it was our fault for using a groupon. I came with four other people and one of the girls who received the foot massage from the owner, forgot to tip. The owner chased after her asking where's my tip?! I've never been to a business where an employee has done this, let alone the owner herself. No professionalism! Today on a whim I went to this spa. I saw a Groupon for 60 minute foot massage & had a code for an extra 20% off. With nothing on my schedule I purchased the Groupon & went to this spa. Was fairly easy to find & parking was good too. Upon entering, I was greeted by whom I assumed was the owner & a gentleman named Tony. She kindly asked what I wanted & I showed her my Groupon. She asked me to take off my shoes & follow her to the back. My first impression was very clean, new, expired service (I didn't see anyone there), & despite other reviews I read the owner didn't strike me as mean or rude. She was actually nice & checked in on me several times. She sat me down in a big comfy chair with pillows and blankets. She asked me to take off my socks & place my belongings in a mini crate that was placed next to my chair-bed thing. Tony reappeared with a large wooden bucket lined with plastic and filled with warm water. He had me lay back covered me with a fluffy blanket and placed my feet in the bucket. While my feet were soling he gave me a head massage for a good 20 mins & then proceeded to the best foot massage ever. I fell asleep and woke up towards the end of my massage. The pressure was firm & just right. No adjusting needed & the hot stones were amazing. I am so happy to see a rise in places such as this in Rochester. Down in Houston where I lived for a bit, these types of spas are all over. I will def be returning for a full body massage!! read more

This was my first experience with reflexology. For the most part I enjoyed it. I did find it weird they make you take your shoes off by the door but they have shoes on. Before being quick to judge, remember some cultures have 2 pairs of shoes, one for indoors and one for outdoors. If you're sensitive to pain, it might not be for you. They apply pressure to certain points in the foot, which does feel painful but I'm not too familiar with reflexology & this might be normal. They do provide a massage to your shoulders & head/scalp which was nice but I wasn't expecting it, felt a little rough. They do completely massage your legs/feet & calves & apply hot stones which was awesome. But I feel as though they could be more gentle but this might be my American side speaking, I know in other countries massages to certain areas could be like this. They do sometimes talk to each other which can be distracting but the foot massages are done in a room with multiple beds. The body massages are in their own rooms. They do have great prices & deals. It's very clean & taken care of so you won't have to worry about that. Again, like another reviewer said, its not for the faint of heart but they could do something about the amount of pressure applies maybe to the females as we tend to be more sensitive. read more

I went to Body Vital because, like several who have posted a review, I purchased a Groupon for the 60 minute massage with reflexology. Overall, the experience was very good. I went on a Tuesday after work. I was the only customer for about 80% of my visit, which made it very relaxing. The man who gave my massage, David according to the tip envelope I was handed, said not one word, but was extremely polite and very attentive. He smiled and motioned to indicate what he needed me to do. He could even tell my left leg fell asleep and stopped working on my right to wake up the left. He started with my forehead, scalp and ears while my feet soaked. Then on to the feet where the majority of the hour was spent. About the last 5-10 minutes he massaged the front of my thighs and when he sat me up he also did my back and shoulders. The full hour was used. There were certain moments when pressure was applied to my feet that it hurt quite a bit, but according to what I read on the Mayo Clinic website, this is to be expected for some people. I decided to grin and bear it in hopes that the benefits would outweigh the temporary pain, but I have a high tolerance for pain. I would agree with those who said this is not for the faint hearted. I almost fell asleep at one point, but my phone rang just as I was drifting off, so I was obviously very relaxed from the experience. The hot stones at the end were fantastic, but the chairs are not conducive to back massage, so the back massage was a little awkward. Unlike the experience of others, I had no problem using the Groupon. The young man who was at the register was very polite. I read great reviews on yelp and decided to go on Sunday afternoon without appointment. Me and my husband weren't sure if we would get in. But we did. It took about 20 min wait. The place is very clean and has brand new smell. They have a community open place , with curtains, where they have reflexology treatment. And rooms for body massage. They started with light head massage, foot soak and ended with hot stone massage. It was $35 for an hour. Now that's a steal. My legs feel relaxed and happy. They have great deals on two hour service too. We will be visiting often. read more

So I bought the voucher from Groupon. Called this place to book the appointment, mentioned the voucher as instructed on the voucher. So we drove 18-20 min to get to this place just to find out the owner would not honor our Groupon voucher, not sure if that was the language barrier that she didn't understand or just her personal rudeness that she didn't understand that the Groupon voucher was legit but she insisted that the voucher was her business card with prices on the services that they offer she didn't understand when we try to explain to her about the voucher that I bought from Groupon. I told her that I did make the appointment that's why we came but she just raised her hand "like saying talk to the hand" and left. How rude is that. Don't need an appointment. Went in and got taken back right away. I have a really tight neck and back and get tension headaches. After 1 hour massage I feel a lot looser and my headache is gone now (had one for 3 weeks). Only negative is there isn't much privacy. They have curtains instead of doors and you have to take everything off (won't massage you otherwise) and being totally nude with only a curtain for privacy may make some uncomfortable. The salon is really nice but he owner is the worst part. A total witch!! I get done with my massage which was great and I go out in the lobby to put my socks on. I sit in a chair and begin to put them on. She looks over and says to me, " you pay first". I was a little taken back so I went to the counter to pay anyway. I gave her a credit card and tell her to put the tip on the card also. She then tells me she is going to charge me five dollars more for putting the tip on the card. My experience started with making an appointment earlier in the day, 2 body massages at 5pm and they didn't ask for a name. When we got there at 4:53pm we told them that we made an appointment for 2 people. They didn't check the book or anything to verify that we were in fact scheduled. There is clearly a language barrier. My boyfriend and I entered the room and weren't given any instructions so I had to chase someone down to ask what we're suppose to do. The massage didn't start until 5:17pm. Throughout the massage the massage therapists were talking to each other. My massage lady, who I believe was the owner of the establishment left the room multiple times every time a coustmer walked in and at one point she even stopped the massage to answer her phone that was by my head. The massage was very painful and I had to tell her a number of times to be more gentle and she would laugh it off each time. My boyfriend had a male massage therapist and his experience wasn't any better. Just when I thought things couldn't get worst, towards the end of the massage she had me flip over onto my back. She adjusted the blanket by lifting it off of me leaving me completely exposed. The fact that she saw my breasts mortified me and on top of that there was a male massage therapist in the room. This was literally the worst and most painful full body "massage" I have ever experienced in my life. First of all, the man pushed my back so hard that my throat was jammed into the hole in the desk and causing my to choke and lose my breath. Secondly, it was freezing cold. I did ask for an extra blanket and they did turn the heater on. Third, the man pushed so hard on my back, pressing on my lungs causing me to lose my breath. Fourth, his breath was toxic. Fifth, a man walked in for a massage and then the woman that was massaging my husband, left to go massage the other man in the middle of his massage and then my husband got a new person to finish his massage. Sixth, I have bruises on my back and it has been painful to sit and lay down since the days after the massage. Seventh, are these people even trained? Horrible experience here last night. We had 7 pm appointments and arrived on time. We waited 20 min. during which time we were shh'd by the person at the desk for talking in the waiting room then she walked outside to talk on her phone. This is the same person who gave me my massage. There was no apology for the long wait. Once we were taken back for our treatment the person giving me my foot massage was very loudly conversing with other workers in the hallway behind our treatment room while giving me my massage. Not very relaxing to say the least. Then she proceeded to get up and leave the room to deal with other issues 3x during my treatment. When I complained there was no apology just a I'll give you extra time. This should have been a relaxing stress relieving experience but instead caused more stress. The worst massage I've ever had, it stressed me out rather than relaxing me. The front desk woman was rude. We made a 3pm appointment for 3 people and we all went at separate times and did not sit next to each other. The woman who worked at the front desk also did my foot massage. She began by rubbing my forehead in an aggressive way (gross because she was just handling money 5 minutes before). It felt as if a child was massaging my foot based on how soft it was. She rubbed the same spot on my foot for 25 minutes. The massage was SO soft AND she kept stopping so often that I took my face mask off the see what was going on and she was literally FALLING ASLEEP. She was leaning forward with her eyes closed AND another masseuse was staring at her with a confused look. I confronted her about it and she denied it and called me rude, rather than just apologizing and I still had to pay. I went here with a groupon. The place is very clean and the staff are courteous. The foot massage is Chinese reflexology, it's similar to "deep tissue" work. If you have very tender feet, you may want to pass. They definitely work very hard and it's very affordable! Like I said, it can be pretty intense though... Since then, I thought I had a broken foot (paid for an xray) and today, I thought I had a blood clot in my calf (had to have an ultrasound). Clearly, Body Vital Spa doesn't know what they are doing. Though I had gone before, this past week, my "therapist" was so aggressive with his treatment that I winced in pain. Because he doesn't speak English, it was difficult to tell him that his pressure was too hard. I will never go to this spa again. The woman who works the front desk called me today to change the time of the appointment not once, but twice! Three different times to adapt to in One day! I arrived to the last agreed upon scheduled time and it looked like they were short staffed and I waited a half hour and then the front desk woman told me to get a half hour massage and I told her no because I already paid for an hour reflexology massage on groupon. She brought me back to do it and it was nothing like a reflexology massage. I've had many done in the past and have been to this location twice before where the man did an excellent job. I have been there numerous times and have brought friends and daughters. All the workers are very experienced except the owners husband. He is a friendly man, but is NOT qualified to do foot massages, last time my daughter went, she felt like she had her feet moisturized only, not a foot massage and he got up and left 4 times to answer phone. If I was there, I would have asked for my money back. Two other friends had him also and they were not pleased!!!!
