Guess what? I found another reflexology place in Rochester. This will be the 4th one I had tried in the area. I've been going here for about a year now so I feel like I can talk about my experiences. Luv Yu Foot Massage is located in a tiny strip mall with a parking lot. I have always called to make an appointment since they do get pretty booked. The foot massage area which consists of 6 large leather chairs are separated by beaded curtains. The body massage rooms are in the back, double room or single room. The double room has a curtain if you want to be separated from the person you are with. Foot Massage: Soak your feet, massage your shoulders, neck, and back then massage your feet and legs. Body Massage: Undress, massage whole body, this will feel a bit intrusive, your butt will get massage. (I always call and ask for a woman.) The downside is the language barrier and the noise, from customers going in and out , the curtains, phone ringing. My husband and I come here often. We bought the package deal/card which is buy 4 massages, get the 5th free. For a foot massage, it comes down to $25.60/hr a massage instead of $30/hr and the body massage is $42/hr instead of $45/hr. The nice thing about the card is multiple people can use it. We did this when family came to visit. Overall, I recommend Luv Yu Foot Massage for a no frills massage. This was my first reflexology service and it was a good experience. The place was quiet and dimly lit. The rooms are separated with beaded/bamboo curtains to give you partial privacy and lined with leather chairs, ottomans, and end tables here and there in between. The masseuses started with a short shoulder massage which was nicely unexpected since we purchased a 60 minute foot massage. The guys soaked our feet and offered us water before starting our service. I've never had a service strictly on my feet, but after 9 months of waddling around, my feet were in need of some TLC. There is a communication barrier so they responded more to our facial expressions, twitches, and sighs rather than verbally telling them where it hurts and what to focus on. However, the masseuse called over the woman at the front desk and we were able to ask if the masseuse could massage my moms right arm and hand for an additional fee. This is a great Chinese foot massage spot. They also offer full body massage. I must underline for those who have not been to a Chinese massage spa, this is NOT like American luxury spas. This is what I would call a "no frills" spa- that is, you get what you pay for- so don't expect a luxury experience. That said, I think it is very reasonable for what they offer, less than half of a traditional American massage spa, without the amenities. i am a massage therapist and completely felt violated when I received a full body massage a few weeks ago. i specifically said I didn't want me legs massaged, just my upper body, and for half of the massage, the "therapist " insisted on rubbing my legs and gluts very vigorously. he went in my inner thigh so close to my vagina grazing the side with his fingers more than once. As if that wasn't bad enough, he took his finger and placed it in between my butt crack at the top and pushed up on my tail bone not once but twice! And as a therapist myself, there is no reason that I know of to do that and for your gluts to be exposed the entire massage! that is why we have draping protocols to follow when addressing those areas. He tucked the sheet into my panties and pulled them down so my butt was half exposed for most the massage!! As the people pleaser that I am, I was afraid to say something at the time, and i wish that I did. I jumped and flinched when he put his finger in the top of my butt crack and he put his other hand on the small of my back and told me to relax, as that was the only word he knew in English. I'm sure not all their therapist are that handsy with their clients but I have never felt so uncomfortable and frustrated leaving a massage and wish I had said something that day and regret it read more
