I hate this place so much. I got my septum pierced and they did it COMPLETELY wrong. Not only they did it wrong, it was the owner that did it. He denied that he pierced it wrong. (it was GUSHING bleeding for two hours, and the ring was completely flipped up) I asked to get it taken out and he refused to give me my money back. It hurt so bad, and it bugged me that he was in denial that he did it wrong!! All in all, I learned to NEVER go to this place again, or tell anyone to go there!! After I walked out of the shop, there was a girl and her mother going into the shop, I warned them how unprofessional they were, and they decided to not go in. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! terrible. i can't even put in words to describe how atrocious these men aka the owners are. they called me a f***** b**** and to get the f*** out because i simply refused to get a tattoo that looked like a 5 year old drew it. you men got to do better. the artist gave zero effort, and on top of the place looking HORRENDOUS, the least you can do is have some type of customer service. please STAY AWAY. there are plenty of other artists who will respect you and not just out for quick money. read more

I had a great experience getting my 3rd and 4th tattoos here with Jason Talbot. I walked in on a whim with the images of the two tattoos I wanted saved in my email. They were both pretty simple black tattoos. One my friend's signature, the other a small symbol for AA. He got them sized right and printed out quickly. He gave me a good price since I was getting two at the same time. He was very kind, checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was doing ok and was also very respectful of the fact that I was a recovering alcoholic. I can't speak to his custom work, but for a quick, little tattoo he was great. read more

The staff is so damn rude and not helpful at all. I went to get a tattoo and Justin finally decided after 15 minutes of me waiting to ask if I needed help. He lacked any social skills and you'd think I was the tattoo artist not him. His prices were crazy expensive for a simple devil shoulder tatt. So I got two piercings done here last summer (july/august 08). A Labret and My tongue done. The place is great, yeah the dead animals are nasty lol. when I first went there they had on some nasty animal eating other animals show on the tv while a lil kid was there. Really rude. I went last Saturday night around 7 pm to get my ear pierced. When i walked in, the shop was void of customers. The only person in there was a gentleman behind the front desk. When I said hello and that I'd like to get my ear pierced he said he wasn't sore they could do it and to "hold on, let me check". Okay. So without leaving the front desk he turned to a walled off area where I'm assuming Mic was sitting (couldn't see him) and asked "Want to take an ear piercing?" And instead of coming out and telling me to come back another day, or saying the piercer was out, or that he wasn't feeling well and closing early or SOMETHING all i got was a grumbled "No" through the wall. And then the receptionist who'd asked just looked at me. I was so blown away I walked out without a word. It was bizarre and totally rude. I was really annoyed to be treated so very poorly. Right when i walked in I knew i was not going to leave happy. the guy at the front desk had a rude ass attitude that i didn't appreciate because it was uncalled for. The piercers are amazing and are very nice. however the guy at the front desk makes everything worse. I actually did come in with my family members and he made us all stand on separate lines which I understand because of Covid however the people in front of me were a family as well. I was backing up to give the family in front of me more space, I was standing closer to my family and homeboy was having a heart attack for no reason went to the back to get the boss the boss found out that we're all family and said that it was fine. therefore homeboy clearly doesn't know what he's doing. And with the girls that came in after us there was a whole group of like seven of them and they could all stand together and he didn't have the nerve to tell them anything however it was a problem with me and my family which makes no damn sense. very upset and will not be coming back. after the piercing as well, he felt the need to ask me leave however had no problem letting the other people who just got pierced stay in the store. i am all set with rude people when i'm the one paying your company and giving YOU, MY money. read more

Disclaimer- I haven't gotten tattooed or pierced here But I probably (read: definitely) never will. I got my nipples pierced a while ago at Chameleon (great piercers), but they were giving me problems and it's hard for me to get up to Harvard Square. So, one day driving past I decided to stop in here and see if they could change my jewelry for me (since I thought that was part of the problem). I asked the kid behind the counter if there was a piercer there, and he said that there wasn't, but he asked me what I wanted to get pierced. I told him I needed jewelry changed and when I said nipples he was like, "Oh, yeah, I can take a look at that for you." Super sketch! Are you the piercer?? I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured it couldn't hurt. Apparently a jewelry change is $10, which with tax is 10 and some change, but they don't take cards for anything less than $20 (isn't it usually like $7-10??) so I had to go down the street to get cash. Came back and had to wait for a bit for him to finish doing something. I sat down on the couches with these two girls, there was some movie playing. One of the artists came out and told the girls that they would be getting tattooed by the other guy there, instead of by him. Apparently the person before them had brought a friend who was also getting something done, so he was going to tattoo both of them instead of the girls sitting with me. Neither of them seemed to have a problem with this, but I (despite having no ink myself) am married to a tattoo snob, and I'm PRETTY sure if you make an appointment with a specific artist it is not ok to just give them to someone else. I'm guessing the girls were getting some flash or something and didn't care, the point is maybe you shouldn't expect much from this place if you are looking for any sort of custom work. Finally, I go in to get the jewelry changed, and the guy botches it. He put the ring in, and then bent it to close it, and literally ripped my nipple. I had to point out that I was bleeding pretty badly, because he hadn't noticed. We switched back to my old jewelry, the new ring now bent into some sort of weird oval, and he gave me a refund. Two stars for the cool stuff on the walls, minus one though because the owner or manager came out and screamed at some customers for putting their feet on the couches. Yeah, sure, they were raised in a barn and there's a sign telling them not to, but I'm generally under the impression that customers should never be screamed at, you could just ask them politely, right? read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Not only did I go here and have to wait 30 minutes plus to be taken care of. But when they did actually pierce my belly button it hurt worse than my rib tattoo. After going home I realized that my belly button was pink after taking off the bandages they give you. They give you a packet of a neosporin like substance that isn't helpful and actually adds to the infection process. When I asked what to do for care seeing as this was my first body piercing I received the response 'just don't get it dirty'. As a piercer I expected a more educated response seeing as this is what you do for a living. Feeling like a moron from the response and the fact that I even went to this place, I went to another piercer to have my now infected piercing (after 2 days really ...and I was not 'rubbing dirt in it). I received a sea salt spray (something they didn't have there) and instructions of what to do at the new place. If you have any self respect you won't go here. read more

Do not go here! Got my septum done here n it was completely crooked n extremely painful. First I called to get a price- the guy That answered the phone, who I now know was mik told me he thought it was this price but was in the other room and didn't feel like going to check the actual price, good customer service. When I got there the piercing was substantially more expensive than he told me on the phone. I sit down to be pierced and Mik is talking over me as if I'm not there, talking about sending a picture to someone of the pope getting a blow job from a kid! First of all- disgusting, unprofessional and offensive! Wish I had jumped out of the chair right then. Mik spent about 5 mins in the room n left as soon as he was done- making no attempts to answer questions, talk to me about what was going on or make me feel comfortable. I Bled a ton, it was dripping out of my nose and wouldn't stop. Mik left his assistant to clean up his mess, we spent 20 mins trying to get the bleeding to stop, the kid ended up having to use some topical drug to clot n stop the bleeding. Once I got home after the piercing n took a look at it I saw that the piercing was extremely low n exiting through the bottom of the skin of my septum! I was still bleeding even into the next morning. I couldn't flip it up either n was told by people in body xtremes I should be able to w in 5 hrs. W out looking into my nose you could see the piercing hole. Because this place was closed til tues I went to a different shop to get it checked out. I went to 3 different piercers n they all told me I need to take it out. "It is not a viable piercing n there is a good chance it will rip all the way through your septum" because it was in the complete wrong spot. One of the piercers said if someone in her shop did it she would not only give me a full refund n free piercing, she would fire the person who did it. All piercers told me I should take it out and will never be able to flip it up. I went back to the shop to ask for my money back. I was perfectly reasonable n tried to have a conversation about it but he wouldn't even look at my nose saying it was just swollen. I know my nose n it was not swollen, even if it was swollen it would have nothing to do with it ripping through the bottom. He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say n just kept yelling, and I mean yelling, at me to get out. He blamed it on me saying if I had left it be it would have been fine, when that excuse didn't work he went on to blame me for picking the wrong jewelry but the kid at the front suggested it to me as the best to use and the jewelry had nothing to do with it! He pierced me in the wrong place. End of story. So clearly did not get my money back. I wish I had followed my gut and walked right out as soon as I stepped in there, now I may have permeant visible scarring for a piercing hole no one should be able to see. If he had owned up to it I would have understood, everyone makes mistakes but he was impossible to deal with and didn't act like a business owner in any way. The old dude that works there(not the tatted dude) is an illiterate asshole that knows nothing about piercings. I asked for a 14g septum ring and he kept grabbing 16g like I was magically going to have a smaller gauge. Then I ask for two 18g nose studs and he gives me 20g. When I tried to bring it back (a mere 5 minutes later) he called me a douche-bag. He knew nothing about piercings and then stated that 20 was a standard size for nose studs. Uhm how about no, 20g is standard for ears and 18 OR 20 can be nose. Fuck this place, all they do is talk shit about other shops. Cool scenery but that is literally it. read more

Honestly never go here. I got my nose pierced here and it was a fine experience. They told me to use bacitracin and dial soap for after care. My experience was nothing to rave about. It was a little weird to me that the piercer bragged about how he knew two ways to pierce people, one of which would inflict more pain. He inflicted more pain on the customers who weren't as friendly. Kind of screwed up if you ask me. Anyway I started to develop a bump on my nose piercing. So I went to a different piercing place in Northampton where I got my snug done and asked them about the bump. First they said you NEVER pierce with an L piercing which is what this place did. They also said using bacitracin and dial soap was possibly the worst after care. It's been over four months and it still hasn't healed properly. I don't trust this place at all and won't be returning. Check out your facts before you go unless you want to have an extremely long healing period. read more

Don't go here. Spend the extra time and money to head to either Chameleon in Cambridge or Stingray in Allston. I got my belly button pierced here in 2012 and it was the worst piercing experience I've ever had. I believe it was Mik who pierced me. He was rude and didn't explain anything to me. He pierced me and then left his apprentice or whoever to put the jewelry in. The apprentice was so nice and he did some of the explaining, but the fact that Mik walked away and didn't watch or stay for any questions or concerns I had was ridiculous. He also pierced me with a ring even though I wanted to barbell. The piercing ended up getting a bit infected because of the ring and it was crooked! I went to chameleon to get it looked at and fixed and Owen (the piercer there) was so helpful and switched it to a barbell and it healed very quickly after that. My friend and I spontaneously decided to get pierced Friday night and found this place. The decor is extreme and certainly gives you something to look at while you wait. He's got some impressive collections of weird things. The piercer/ owner, Mic, was great. It's a laid back and straight forward. Our piercings were sterile and painless. Got it not too long ago... I'm pretty disappointed. The lines are not straight, you can see a couple areas where he messed up, it's uneven, not centered... I hope when the healing process is done, I can go back and it can be somewhat fixed. I have several tattoos from a different shop, but wanted to try a new place because my usual artist left the usual shop. I kind of wish I didn't.... However, they did make me feel comfortable while I was there. I don't know, I don't ever regret a tattoo, but this is probably my least favorite of my 12+ tatts. read more

I love this place. I got my tragus pierced here about six years ago and recently had my nose pierced there twice (I accidently let my first one close up after a surgery). Mik had done the piercings and they look awesome and healed very well. The person at the front desk (I forget his name) is extremely helpful and friendly. He has changed the jewelry in my nose and tragus for me when I was having trouble doing it myself and always answers my questions when I go in. What I like the best about body xtremes is that you definetly don't get the condescending/arrogant additude that you get walking into alot of other shops around Boston. And as someone who doesn't drive, I love that it's a five minues walk from the red line. read more

I haven't gotten a piercing here. But I had 3 piercings I needed removed that I got somewhere else (two of which were infected) so I called and asked if they could do it. Mik was very nice and made me feel comfortable while removing the piercings. I don't know why people have anything bad to say about this place. I will never go here for any kind of service. The shop is dirty, dark, cramped, and morbid. My boyfriend, two of my friends, and I went here with a friend who was getting a tattoo on his arm. All of us were planning to get tattoos at the shop as well and we came along to check out the shop atmosphere, cleanliness, etc. I asked one of the artists about a sketch of the piece I wanted. He told me in less than 30 seconds that it was impossible because it was too detailed, and instead of working with me to try to redesign something more suitable, looked over my shoulder and ignored me and started talking to someone else. While we waited for our friend, we looked through the selection of tattoos on display. We were talking them over and the shop owner heard one of us use the word "Picture". He assumed we were taking pictures of the artwork (although we were not, were not planning to, and none of us had a camera out or on us for that matter...) and came over to us aggressively. He cursed and yelled and made a scene that was entirely uncalled for and told us he would "throw us out on our asses" for taking pictures (again, let me emphasize that NO ONE was taking pictures, or for that matter, doing anything but standing quietly looking through the designs). I have never been treated so badly at a business establishment. We were so shocked and offended that we left and walked around outside instead. Furthermore, the quality of the work of our friends' tattoo was subpar for a professional and highly accredited shop. He asked for a flag, he got a bland rectangle. Pretty unimpressive. I assure you, they lost the business of three people that day, and my boyfriend had been planning on getting a large back piece that would have cost between 5 and $700 there. We went to Stingray in Allston instead, and that experience was infinitely better. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more
