Mike was willing to work with us on the fee because of the size but ultimately we felt like his work was worth the fee plus tip. I am a bit picky when it comes to line work and Alina is a total prodigy. Very good natural talent with art and attention to detail. She sanitized every placement of a tattoo, after each persons tattoo, changed out the equipment/cleaned as needed, wore gloves, and light handed. VERY professional. Note that if you're there for a tattoo appointment (not a piercing appointment) the tattoo doors are two doors down from the main shop! I was tattooed for about 2 hours and was able to keep headphones in during the session. Shop was clean and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. I will most definitely return for more tattoos and piercings. Highly recommend Hannah's work as well! The one thing I will say is I do wish I was sent home with a bandage wrap (such as tegaderm or saniderm) instead of a traditional healing wrap with plastic wrap, but I understand each artist is different. Not a deal breaker for me at all just a skincare/method preference!

I only waited maybe 8 minutes until Aaron walked up to me and introduced himself. He immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew it was going to be a great experience. I went to 3 different tattoo shops to get an idea and a feel for their place before I decided on Merk Ink Tattoo Studio. I liked the vibe and feel of Merk Ink and I thought the woman at the front desk was very friendly and personable. It had been almost 21 years since my last tattoo so I was a bit nervous at first. She introduced me to Ireland who was very professional and made the entire session smooth and comfortable from start to finish. I decided on a small pumpkin with no color just above my wrist. The whole session took maybe an hour or so and I was obsessed with the tattoo once he was done - it was exactly what I wanted. It has been a week now and I can still say that I love my tattoo as it is healing and I am so happy that I chose Merk Ink! I will definitely be back to see Ireland the next time I visit Salem!
