I've been working out here for about a month. I needed a good selection of machines and free weights to work around some old injuries. They have that a good selection of cardio machines and some boot camp type classes. This is a great small gym close to Lakeway and very close the Apache shores area. It is clean, has a good range of equipment and has good shower/locker room facilities. It's locally owned so you are not dealing with some behemoth franchise. It's located next to a day spa with massage and across the parking lot from a yoga studio, so it's proximate to other fitness businesses. As an added bonus, they have 24x7 key card access, so if you have odd work hours, it's beyond convenient. If you need a good place to work out and do not require a laser light show or the presence of legions of "Kens and Barbies" then this might be your place, it feels like home to me. read more

Great value. Cool diverse mix of friendly people. The equipment isn't quite as good as some of the other gyms for instance the big heavy dumbbells don't have enough of a gap between them when you put the weight back so if you're not careful you can squish your hand. But for the price and proximity etc. it's an extremely fair deal. read more

been a member at body wise for about 6 months or so and love it. smaller place but also not a lot of people which is nice not having to wait on machines like other big gyms. They have the garage doors open on nice days which is refreshing! Some of the equipment could use updating but none the less it works! read more

So this is a very nice gym and I like the vibe the owners are trying to convey. And I like the equipment choices and layout. My issue was with a few of the members.... First off I joined this gym for some convenience of using there isolation machines 24/7 and to use some equipment not available at my Olympic lifting gym to hit some muscle imbalances I have developed. I quickly noticed a small group of 50year old roided out regulars who train in the evening together around 5-6pm. They then proceeded to do super sets on 5-6 pieces of equipment. After waiting around for 5mins and asking if anyone was using a piece of equipment without an answer I used the equipment. Only to get bitched at a few moments later. After trying to resolve the situation and attempting to work in with this group. They refused to communicate or work in together and just complain and throw a tantrum. I quit the gym shortly after. If 50 year olds are acting like children Its not worth my time to correct the behavior. I just went somewhere else, where I am respected. The employees that are on site are back within a inclosed room. So they have no awareness what's going on within the gym and the interactions between other members. read more

Really like this spot. I have never had to wait for a rack or machine and there isn't a weird gym culture. Cool management too

Old fashion workout gym with newest data and classes. Clean and not severely crowded around machines. I would recommend this place to anyone who seriously exercises. read more

I had high hopes for this place but after the 1 free workout day they offer, my opinion is for $100 a month - it is grossly overpriced. The equipment is not the best, the staff is nice but nothing special, and they share the space but there are no real amenities. On the plus side- it is clean and conveniently located. However, this is not as nice as Planet Fitness but charges 3-4x more. Bodywise Gym will have new competition coming next summer and this new gym will have new equipment, a pool, a steam room, and regular classes (spin/yoga/circuit/etc). read more

Best local, non "big box" gym! Been a member for 10 years, but have been going for over 15. During the 2000's, while visiting the Lake Travis area. I would visit 3-5 times a year. The owners are the best. Excellent equipment. Everything you need. They're family. read more

Joined this gym hoping for a small town gym feel where people that love fitness can workout. Main complaint is how rude the female gym owner is. Can't even workout without her hassling me and other people. Refuses to let people workout upstairs and even locked the door. This was one of the main reasons we joined the gym so we could use the entire facility 24/7 which is what we were originally told. Equipment is very outdated and a lot of the cardio machines are broken. Do NOT join this gym as the owner is rude and will make you wish you never joined. They say you have 24/7 access to gym but you dont. they lock things up after hours which defeats the purpose. There are many other private gyms close to Lakeway with better equipment and owners that respect their members. read more

I work for Uber and Lyft, and couple days ago I picked up one of the trainers at the gym, he was really polite and friendly, along the way he gave me some info about pricing and other details about the place, so since I thought i didn't have a gym close from home finding out about body wise near me was great news, I wanted to see the place first so, went by and talked to someone that worked there, she gave me a business card a brochure with all the information about pricing and the amenities so far everything was fine, finally I dropped by today fully dressed with gym clothes my protein cup, and 100% mentally to work out, I walked to the window told the lady there I wanted to pay, when I told her I wanted to pay monthly instead of year membership, she said, yes it's 100$ I was like what??, hold on a sec the trainer gave a 60$ price the lady and the front desk gave me a 60$ price why are you trying to charge me 100$? She replied if you are going to go by month that it's the price, I declined to pay that much, left the place pretty pisssed about the whole situation, so went on the web page to write a complain, just to find out that the pricing was only 60$ and not 100$ and also that the lady that I talked to is the owner Kai sconci, so her being the owner should know the price better than anybody out there, so I was a little apprehensive about this, called my cousin and had her call the gym and ask about the price of month to month, as I suspected there was no 100$ charge for month to month, so I can only conclude this lady was racist and she didn't want anybody looking Hispanic or brown at her establishment 7 years living in Austin and my first racist experience. read more

Member of this gym for several years. Changed from family membership to individual and they billed me a contract cancellation fee. Said the information was in their handbook. Long sense gone, but okay, got me. Advised them of changing from family membership in one month, and they billed me for the old rate the next month. Okay got me again. Found they had double billed me a couple of times in the past. Complete hassle to get this rectified, denial denial denial. Turned it over to the credit card company. Refunded one and stiffed the credit card company on the other. Credit card company made good. I would think twice about doing business with this kind of behavior. Personable enough, but business ethics I don't know. Doing business with these people might be call for some extra vigilance. They sent me a printout from their business system that was incomprehensible. If as from review above they are manually entering charges, then this is very confusing, as to a computer glitch. It's a shabby gym that happens to be close to your house - that's the only positives. I've had the same experience as most in which they will not let you cancel your gym membership. They refuse to answer calls or respond to emails and I'm out of town so can't go to their gym - which wasn't even open the hours that was advertised. The business is a joke. read more

I was visiting from out of town and was lucky enough to find this gem of a gym. The ownership and members were friendly to me as a drop in. Kay greeted me every morning with a warm welcome and pleasant conversation. The gym had all of the equipment that I expected and was very clean and generally well-kept. I look forward to visiting again, and I would highly recommend this facility to any locals for ongoing membership. read more

Very nice little gym with a staff and members serious about health and lifetime fitness. Not all of the equipment is the latest flashiest with tons of bells and whistles, however very adequate for a great cardio workout. The gym is clean, except for the ants crawling up and down the walls in the summer; the equipment is adequate. A radio station plays rock tunes when conditions permit; lots of the time it's just static. The owner/operator, as noted by others here, is a dower soul, very short on people skills. read more

Think twice before joining any gym...I joined this gym with the thought that I would receive quality training. The owner is a nice person, at first, then becomes aloof after time goes by. More concerned with her competing in body building than her clients. I signed a contract with an outside service, then the owner said to me she wouldn't use that service again and didn't know why people would sign a contract. I totally agree, took me two years to pay off this beast! I hurt my back, outside the gym and could not workout for almost a year, tried to cancel and the billing service refused to take me off their contract! Wish i never signed anything, the sales man was very very pushy and very deceptive. Fast talker...Hate Hate this gym, was dirty and very as Colby L. put it, PATHETIC!
