I did the 90 minute couple's massage class with my partner and Yves was great--of course she's a great LMT, but she's also a patient teacher. She dispelled a lot of myths and bad technique while helping us make one another more comfortable with both giving and receiving deep tissue massage from one another. I went in thinking that this would be a fun and romantic thing, and I came out feeling like I learned a lot and that (with practice and perhaps more guidance) I would be able to more fully connect with my partner's needs. Therefore the LMT must have a few basic criteria before I continue with them: -Basic understanding of the anatomy- if I say I herniated my L3, L4, L5, S1 they should know what that means and where it is. -Understand the differences between active and latent TrP. -Be able to know when to apply the various modalities of massage therapy.
