I went for a birthday yoga spa day, the owner is welcoming and sweet. The Yoga instructor who I believe that day was Milagros was informative and walked around to help guide those who needed it, I felt relaxed and well overall after the yoga class. After I got ready for my scrub and body massage, Evelyn was superb, made sure I felt comfortable in every way, bless her hands! To top it off before I left I had tea and was surprised with fruit with a candle which was so very sweet! I left brand new. I surely will be back for yoga classes, and spa day packages+. I was apprehensive at first but it's a humble place with the treatment of a five star hotel using high quality ingredients (all organic ingredients) without the hype. I am very sensitive and selective with product so I inquired about what they use and they were proud to show it was organic, natural, and of high quality! This place is a hidden gem! Treatment: Signature Full Body I've never had a full body exfoliation done without having to get up and wash it off myself but here, they conveniently wash it off for you with a cool shower head that lights up! The room in which you get the exfoliation is heated so even though you're naked you feel comfortable. The lady who treated me was so attentive, frequently asking if I was ok. Yoga class: The yoga room was so relaxing and had such a good energy that flowed through the space. I loved how their yoga mats were sparkling clean (they actually steam the mats to naturally kill the bacteria). The mats had cool infographics that help guide your pose. (You can rent it for a few bucks) Plus the yoga class was relaxing, energizing and brought back my sense of awareness to my body. Plus I love the little outdoor patio! I contacted Yoga Spa to inquire about getting my bachelorette party accommodated for a class. Megan was super responsive over email and made the booking process easy. We ended up doing a half yoga flow half restorative private class with Milagros and it was amazing! I went to this place at least three times in the past few years and it never disappoints! Went this past weekend with a friend for Valentine's Day. We both did the three in one package. The yoga class is an hour and 15 minutes. We didn't know it was hot yoga but it was not too intense. That was followed by a honey body scrub. This was my favorite part as they scrub off all the dead cells. Lastly, was the deep tissue massage. My masseuse was very thorough and the hot stones were a nice surprise. It is well worth it for the price, the place is clean and the ambience is always nice and calming. Very nice staff who are patient and kind. I will be back soon! read more

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. From start to finish the experience was exceptional. It was my belated birthday celebration and Nara made us feel so at home with her warm welcome. The Studio is beautiful with a little outdoor area equipped with a Sauna and lounge chairs. Perfect for relaxation before or after your visit. We began with a yoga class led by Victoria. The room, the music, the essential oils made for a perfect session where we walked away feeling more connected to the universe and with a more open heart. We then made our way to receive a honey scrub before a full body massage. Both Svete and Nadaya took excellent care of us, and made sure to always check in before moving on to something new. They both have the hands of angels. After an incredible yoga class and spa treatment we were offered hot tea and did not feel rushed to leave. Nara then brought out a little birthday candle and two chocolates to conclude my experience. From an avid yoga practitioner and a woman who indulges in self care - I highly recommend Yoga Spa. I come here through classpass and it was definitely a great find (thanks to yelp). The studio has a warm and homey charm to it--they have a kitchen that members can use, which is the first time I've seen anything like it. Another thing that makes this place unique are the mats. If you're coming from classpass like me, I would recommend you leave your own yoga mats at home and rent one from here for $2 or$3, I forget exactly. Their mats (retail price $75) are designed to help you have the correct alignment by marking it with certain lines where the hands and the feet should go. I've only attended about 3 classes so far, but already see an improvement and better understanding about yoga with this method. The instructors here are extremely hands-on whenever possible. Obviously during a full class, this isn't possible for all the students. During smaller classes, the instructors do try to fix your alignment and form. I had Maggie who helped and taught me how to do a headstand--I still need much more practice with that... A goal I set for myself this year was to complete a 200-hr RYS program, which this studio offers. I would LOVE to attend the program here as it seems very instructive with experienced teachers, but due to my busy schedule, I would have to take the customized program which costs $3800. I've found other programs that offer the class at reasonable times for me at $2250. If I didn't care about money, I would definitely opt for the program here. Overall, give this studio a try and rent a mat here. read more

I have to say that the whole experience, from booking, reserving, confirming, and the day-of at Yoga Spa Lounge was one my friends and I will never forget! Nara is beautiful soul, she answered all my questions and made planning the event so smoothly. Yoga Spa Lounge and Nara also were very accommodating and welcoming for everyone who attended in my party (party of 5). If anyone is looking for a location that will safely and smoothly take care of yoga spa inspired events, then look no further! Our friends bridal shower was very intimate and relaxing for everyone. We arrived and was greeted warmly by Nara, it felt like I known her forever. We used the outdoor rooftop, which was the perfect space that could easily fit our small group, and could even fit about 12 people comfortably if we had that many. I had 3 people in our party who were first timers in yoga and spa treatments. I will divide both experiences for those who want to know how the yoga went, then how the spa experience went. Yoga: We attended the noon "gentle yoga: stretch and refresh" class with Monica. The yoga studio space was a great size for our group, and could probably fit about 25-30 Yogi's. This is perfect especially if someone is a beginner and wants teacher assists and attention because the teacher can move around the space easily. Monica made everyone, new and old to yoga very relaxed, energized, and safe to just show up as they were, without judgement. For myself as a certified yoga teacher, the pacing, environment, and moments to hold and breathe for poses was nice to feel again. For my friends who were new to yoga, they deeply enjoyed the experience and can't wait to do it again. Spa: Each of us did the body scrub with massage. Two pairs went in two room together, and I went solo in another room. There was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed in their spa experience. I absolutely (along with my friends) enjoyed the soothing sounds of the light music, as we were scrubbed softly; it reminded me of an ancient Egyptian bath ritual. The massage was out of this world amazing! I never experienced a massage so professional, peaceful, and patience with detail to the areas that I felt tension before. I personally have had spa treatments before, and this experience is in my top 3! Afterwards, Yoga Spa Lounge were so generous to let us spend as much time as we needed to enjoy each other's company and games for our bridal shower. We left satisfied and serene. This place is an absolute gem that's hidden away in Midtown East. I woke up with a very painful kink in my neck and desperately looked for somewhere I could go in my area for a top notch, quality massage. We're in a pandemic, so I not only looked for a place that was open and taking appointments, but also clean and legitimate! This place was all of that and more. Beyond sanitized and clean, I was welcomed by an incredible massage therapist, friendly and wonderful owner, beautiful outdoor terrace, gorgeous yoga room, inviting and relaxing common area, and all the essentials I needed for a true escape in the middle of the city. After my massage, I was even treated to a lovely cup of tea with honey to warm me up before I left. I loved it so much that I booked a yoga class, couples massage, and couples scrub treatment the following week. Now, my husband and I both can't say enough good things about this place. Their scrub is homemade and made our skin feel like velvet for the next few days. Our stress melted away during the 3 hours we spent there and we were astonished at how affordable it was. The packages here are incredibly fairly priced! We're looking forward to coming back next week with another couple and making a day of it. We love it here! read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! Do not use this place for spa services. If you are looking for a relaxing experience stay away! I made an appointment for 3:30pm, the day before I get a call to ask if I minded rescheduling to 2:30pm instead. Fine. I show up at 2:30pm to be told day of that no one is there to give massages and I'll have to wait at least 20 minutes. Not only that, the woman at the front, who I believe is the owner, told me that there's nothing she can do because she didn't make the appointment. Sorry... no sense or customer service or trying to explain to me why they would make an appointment for a time they casually could not honor. After I left without any services I did get a call from the front desk to apologize, however it was short lived because when I tried to explain why I'm still confused why I was booked for a spa time that couldn't be honored ... I was met with 1. Her staff is late something came up with the trains ...? (First time that was told to me - not even in person was I given an explanation) 2. "This is America, you have to wait for everything. This is normal." At this point that's just comical. It is not normal to book appointment times that you can't honor. And, if it does happen, what is normal is to take some responsibility, handle it with customer service in mind and rectify it! Oh boy. What a nightmare dealing with this place. read more

I honestly wish I could give Yoga Spa 10 stars! From the very first phone call with Nara (the owner) until the moment we walked out of the spa was an incredible experience. Sit back and relax because I have plenty to say! I booked a package for my sister to celebrate her birthday (and booked one for myself as well so I could join her) which included a full yoga class, 30 minute full body scrub, and one hour massage. When we arrived, the front area was very welcoming with cute furniture offering plenty of relaxing seating options to sit if you have to wait, pretty chandelier over the front desk, massage chairs tucked away in a corner, and an unexpected bonus of an outdoor area with lounge chairs, picnic table, water feature and dry sauna. We showed up a bit early so we relaxed out there until it was time for yoga to begin. A lovely woman by the name of Victoria was out there and I asked her to take our picture which she graciously did. Turns out she was our yoga instructor and she was on her break. What a sweetheart to do that for me. When the yoga class began, it was the start of the most fulfilling class ever! My sister practices yoga avidly and she said it was the best class she has ever experienced. Victoria is not only a master at what she does but she is knowledgeable enough to satisfy an avid yogi while still being so descriptive that even a novice feels completely comfortable in following along. She incorporated aromatherapy into the class for-each-one-of-us-individually! The meditation to close out the class was beyond inspiring and I left feeling like I had opened my heart chakra to so much love from the universe! After the class, my sister and I were taken to a room where we later received our massages but first were instructed to change into robes and were taken to our individual body scrub rooms. Neither of us had ever had one before and what an experience it was! Svetlana and Nadya were kind, attentive, and have magic hands! The body scrub room was a perfect warm temperature so I didn't get cold while laying there getting wet and the water was just the right amount of heat. Beyond relaxing and I came out of there feeling like a baby's bottom! The massages we got from Svete and Nadya had just the right amount of pressure. I carry all of my stress in my shoulders, particularly on my right side for some reason and I didn't have to tell her anything about that. It was as if she knew and took extra time working it out for me. Top notch service from these ladies! When we were ready to leave, Nara continued to make us feel pampered by offering us green tea and not making us feel rushed at all. We sat in the little corner with the massage chairs and while we spoke about our day a wonderful surprise was on the way! Nara, Svetlana, and Nadya came around the corner with a candle and chocolates singing Happy Birthday to my sister! I hadn't even requested that they do that. Nara just remembered and wanted to do something special for her. WOW! I MEAN WOW! Touches like that you just can't teach. Nara created a gem here that focuses on mind and body wellness and her kindness and customer service is impeccable. This is actually Atmananda Yoga. I found out after being told that I already have an account with them which was from Atmananda. Prices are pretty good if you're a student and you take about 1-2 classes a week. Yoga class was okay. Classroom is messy. Their bolsters are stored on the floor. I highly doubt they regularly pick up all those bolsters up to sweep the floor under the bolsters. The blocks are stored on two separate small shelves where the lamp is. There was a sofa in the classroom. Mirrors are not my thing and I feel it doesn't belong in a yoga class. It would be a good idea to invest in a large shelf to store props. Be careful with giving your personal information away. They take advantage of it even if you didn't check the box that says you would like be contacted. I received constant texts AND emails about rating their studio and buying more classes. read more

I LOVE this space! It is absolutely humongous! As part of my birthday gift, my husband surprised me with a package that included a yoga class + 30 minute body scrub + 60 minute deep tissue massage. He purchased it on Groupon (he used a Groupon on our first date and I *still* married him -- no bougienss or secrets here!) and got a really great deal. It was about $200 for the both of us to get all those services. The entire package took nearly four hours to complete. Since they only have one scrub room, my husband had to wait until mine was finished so he could get his, so that caused about a 30-minute overlap at the end. Luckily, it was a gorgeous day out so I went out onto the terrace and just relaxed until he was finished. Our yoga class was taught by Gaby (Gabby, Gabi, sorry I don't mean to butcher the spelling!) -- and she was great. We told her we were experienced but still beginner-level yoga practitioners and she taught the class accordingly. I'm not sure if our package included a private yoga session, but I was surprised when we were the only ones in the class! It really was such a different experience having the entire room to yourself and the instructor. There weren't any distractions with anyone else's movements or breathing. That was a treat. Gaby made sure to take note of our injuries (my husband is battling a wicked tennis elbow and I've had several ACL/meniscus surgeries) and she was knowledgable in giving both of us instruction and modified movements as we flowed in and out of different poses. She even stuck around for a few minutes after the class and helped us with questions we had regarding alignment, posture and hand/feet placements. Thank you Gaby! The scrub room, while small, was so nice and clean. They had the heat cranked up in there, which was nice. My feet tend to get insanely cold during any treatments that dictate being sans clothing. It's a wet scrub room, meaning the practitioner uses a shower head and hoses you down before, during and after the scrub. It was a soothing service and my skin felt refreshed afterward. The practitioner didn't scrub too hard but made it a point not to just drag her hands back and forth, but rather in a massage-like motion. As I've been getting more and more massages as time goes on, and often at different places, I've noticed that each masseuse can do the same description massage in a totally different way. While I have my preferences, I try to put them aside when trying a new place because I know the treatment will likely vary significantly from anything I've had in the past. I wish the masseuse had talked to me beforehand and asked where my trouble spots were -- my neck and upper shoulders is where I carry all my tension and being a writer, the most uncomfortable and sore part of my body after a long day. I would have enjoyed more work on these areas. The overall massage was fine, but not necessarily my cup of tea -- the movements seemed a bit generic, as if they weren't tailored to my specific muscle needs. A few non-massage-related things would have made it a bit better: relaxing music, some sort of incense or essential oil diffuser. The room was white and bright so it didn't really provide for a calming, restful ambiance. And while being a bit warm is nice -- I believe the massage had a heating table element -- there was definitely a need for some sort of fan or breeze from an open window. I was uncomfortably hot! Overall, the day was a success. I enjoyed the space very much and everyone there was extremely friendly and warm and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. We were greeted with an offer for some water, tea or a smoothie -- we both chose tea and it was a nice calming start before our yoga practice. I will definitely be back again! Definitely for yoga classes and the scrub. I have my favorite massage place near where we live -- so that's my usual spot. But I could see myself popping in here for an impromptu massage if I knew I'd be in the area.
