Out with a few friends in Tempe and stumbled (almost literally - we were getting gas and noticed a 1/2-a$$ "Grand-opening" banner!) on this place and decided to investigate. Initially, the place felt a little sterile and almost "too new", but once the lights dimmed and we realized we'd walked right past a jukebox on the way in, things warmed up mighty fast. A few cold beers later and we were in duel with another group of "girls" (lotta tat's upn here, yo!) on the jukebox. Upside of internet jukebox = lots of classic rock. Downside = equal amount of mcha-mcha-mcha hippity-hop bs. That said, a few corona's and we were all friends and discovering how much we "actually liked" each others music. Heard of "beer-goggles"? We must've been under the influence of the lesser-known "beer-muffs"! More corona's, more strangeness - somehow I ended up with a spicy chicken, jalapeno and artechoke pizza (?) and dam if it didn't taste awesome. Beer-tongue???? This place has potential. the guys were guys, not "boys" (ref "tat's" above, and flat-billed caps were in the minority). Service was great and the food, beer-tongue or not, was great. New to the area, but I've had a hard time finding bars with jukeboxes (what's up with that?), so I give this place an xtra 1/2 star for that. 4-stars for now. first time to Bogeys since it was first purchased. Very nice place, staff was friendly, i had the potstickers and the pretzel with cheese. Yum! my only complaint would be that the pretzel had too much salt, but that's a personal choice, i just brushed it off. the potstickers were awesome, you get 5 for $3 during happy hour. i could have eaten several more. I spend Friday evening at Bogey's as a friend was celebrating his birthday. The Happy Hour specials were priced right with a $4.00 charge for a small pitcher of Shock Top. Good Stuff. I decided to eat something so I ordered the quesadilla appetizer with chicken. I was surprised that it was so tasty! My friends all had the Friday night special, all you can eat fish and chips. The place was very busy but the service from our gal was completely acceptable. I wish we had a place like this in the north valleys! I would be a regular. I met some friends there for drinks and dinner after work. We were all very happy with the food and service. If we had more time we would have played some pool or shuffle board. Their pool tables were in top notch shape and the place was clean and well appointed for a sports bar. We ordered a few appetizers for the table, all of which were pretty decent, but the calamari stood out as especially tasty. I ordered the fish and chips for dinner but had an opportunity to change my order when I noticed the seafood pasta on the menu. I'm sure the fish and chips would have been great, but the pasta was a huge winner. It was exactly the right balance of pasta, sauce, and seafood with a nice amount of heat. None of us left hungry and the service was attentive but not overbearing. The draft beer selection was great as well, with a good IPA and some other selections beyond the normal bar options. We will definitely go back when we are in town for business again. read more

Went to this place after a night of bowling fun with friends. Found this place hidden behind a Circle K store, surprised that we even found the place. The place doesn't look like it's surviving from the outside, but once you get inside, it's whole other story. It has a huge space inside with 2 pool tables and many different video games. On the patio side, there are many other games you can participate in either with your friends or with strangers you meet in the bar. I didn't try their food this time, only some yummy beer. Will probably go back again if I'm in the area next time. Great find! read more

I live right down the street so as soon as I was 21 I came in to check it out. I've been back at least once a month since and it's now me and my boyfriends go-to spot. I fell in love with the Buffalo Chicken Wrap first and the arcade game at the end of the bar shortly after. The staff has never been rude once and if they take awhile it's only because they're busy. Never heard of this place, but the other weekend we met up with some friends to play shuffleboard and drink. Ended up staying a while and got some food. The food is much better than typical bar food. Had a spicy philly, and they put it in a wrap for me to save me some carbs. It was excellent. Staff was nice. The place is really big and is ideal for a large group. read more

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive while opening the door to Bogey's. But boy was I shocked after walking in. This place is inside is nothing like it is on the outside. They say if you want to know how a bar/restaurant is run, first check the restrooms. Well, Bogey's passed that test immediately. The service was fantastic - thank you, "Crista," I believe. LOVE this place! I was there today for a local small business lunch club event. I was so impressed by the food and the price for lunch! I ordered a steak quesadilla special. For $7.00 this was an amazing meal! They hand cut all their meats and veggies nothing prepackaged. you can tell the food is fresh. Nice, friendly place. Very clean inside, clean resatrooms. The food was very good, (I had the fish fry!!) although the service was a little slow - 2 bartenders with a 100' bar!!. The patio wsa quite busy too. Nice place to bring kids early in the evening. I was there Fri 8/27/10 and they had a nice 3-piece playing classic rock etc, started at 8:30 pm. I went to Bogeys to watch Tennessee Vs. Jacksonville for Monday Night Football It's a great place to watch a football game because there are hi def flat screens on both sides of the bar, which must be about 100 feet long. The food was a step above the usual "bar food". I got the Tuna Melt, which came with bacon, and the extra thick "Texas toast" type bread. It was very good. Not too much mayo. The prices were very good. A little less than some of the other local sports bars. The service was good. The bartender made a point to introduce my friend and I to some of the regulars, who were pretty friendly, and we ended up staying, a little too long, after the game was over. One problem is the layout of the place. The bar is really long, so it's hard to see who is sitting around you, and the bartender needs to run back and forth down the length of the bar. She was able to handle it though. We didn't need to wait very long for a drink, and she took the time to recommend some menu items, even though it was pretty busy. read more

My friends and I heard about this place and drove in from Scottsdale and Glendale. So worth the trip. Service was great. Waitress was the right amount of attentive and flirty. Food was terrific - had the potato skins and calamari to start and the Seafood Fra Diavolo for dinner. The seafood had some real kick to it -- never had it so good in a bar restaurant.
