While we enjoyed the food we had to wait exceptionally long for just about everything. When we walked in the door it took awhile for someone to seat us. The server thought it would take us more than 15 mins to "take a look at the menu". We had to ask to have our drinks refilled more than a few times. I was in great company and still noticed all the delays. Overall, we won't be back. Food was delicious but the food came super slow. Like we waited 35 minutes for the food to arrive but that's ok. We were having a good conversation so it was worth with it. Our server was nice too. Bogey's is the GREATEST neighborhood bar on planet Earth! Sure, we live nearby, but the food, staff and cheap drinks keep us coming back. Since I last reviewed Bogey's, they renovated their patio into a pretty large outdoor area with plenty of TVs, dog friendly options and mister-fans (for the mild summers we have!). We love their (secret off the menu) deep fried Jalapeno Bottle Caps with a heaping side of delicious ranch dressing. Friday's all you can eat Fish Fry is a must too! We had to find a bar last minute to watch the Michigan game and this place came up with good reviews. Location is good and easy to find. We were only people there with kids which is no surprise.. it is a bar ...but we had no access to the game at our resort. They actually had a kids menu.. very good selection. Oldest loved his cheeseburger sliders but little guy refused to eat the pizza. Mostly because it looked like cheesy garlic bread. Food was decent... not bad for bar food and happy hour was a major plus. $7 margaritas and $5 appetizers are a good deal. Service is nice but slow. They might be understaffed. Came in with no expectations a little after 2pm and sat in the patio. Order soup and salad lunch which featured clam chowder since it was Friday. I'm from the east coast and have to say I'm extremely picky about this favorite of mine. I was shocked that this was probably the best clam chowder I've had on the west coast after Living in California for over 30 years I haven't raved about a single one. This clam chowder is made on the premises. The clams were tender. The chowder wasn't too thick and it was well balanced and perfectly seasoned. The prices are so affordable and the service excellent. What a hidden gem. Definitely will be back for the chowder. Unfortunately we didn't have time to sample the other items on the menu. The lunch menu is great. Extensive and affordable with options we really appreciated. Pints of beer on tap were around 5 dollars. What a find! read more

I left my phone charger here on a work trip in August and called immediately after I left the bar and realized. I informed the manager over the phone and he was able to find my phone charger and secure it in the safe they had in their office. Here I am back for work in January in Phoenix and I called the bar to get my charger back but I assume one of their employees stole it as they said they did not have it in the safe after assuring me they would hold onto it for me. I'm very disappointed in the untrustworthy manor in which they behave, what a shame. read more

Bogeys Grill is the sports bar that every local should know about. Their wings are better than the other sports bars I've been to on both taste and price. 8.95 for a pound of wings or $0.55 per bone-in wing on Mondays. Stand alone, chipotle bbq is my favorite but I've found a magic combination that I must share -- their honey hot wings with ranch dressing will make you mix as much together as you can and want to lick the plate. Plus, the service is the best there is for bars and their food ALWAYS comes out piping hot right as its finished cooking. The atmosphere is great, they've got jenga towers, pool tables, outdoor seating, lots of tvs, a wii, wifi, and even a shuffleboard. Can't ask for more from a local bar read more

Just popped in for dinner tonight and what a difference from previous visits. The place was packed as per usual on a weekend night. But tonight something was definitely awry. We waited quite a while for menus, waters, drink orders, and our meal order. Food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and unfortunately the meal was not exactly right - some of the food was cold, and some was piping hot. The waffle fries and chicken wings were terrific. Ate at Bogey's tonight. Very crowed and noisy. Best description is a large bar that happens to serve food. About 90% of the people were only drinking. We were four of us and we all ordered their Friday night special of fish and chips. There was more than we could eat. Thats the best part. But the food was average at best. The servers were very cordial but the food service was extremely slow It took us an hour to receive our order. We frequently go to Bogey's on Friday evening, and have been very happy with the good and the service. We take grandkids on occasion, and they like the kid's menu. Tonight we ordered take out because of the virus. We had a little concern about ordering Fish and Chips because we live about 3 miles away, and who likes cold fish. We had the oven preheated just in case. But I got the good right out of the kitchen, and it was piping hot when I got home. And just as good as usual. Great job Bogey's! read more

This place should really be in the dive bar category, no offense. I do, however, love this place! On Tuesdays they do taco Tuesday where their street tacos are only $1.00. You simply MUST try their tacos, they are freakin' amazing!!! I order the vegetarian ones which has grilled vegetables, melted cheese, lettuce, corn, and a pico that isn't too tomatoey. I hate tomatoes, yet I can handle this. They also have black beans, fresh cilantro, and sometimes, roasted garlic. They come on a mini corn tortilla and are totally to die for! This place also has "theme nights" where they'll do poker and other fun things. I have only been there on Tuesdays, so I'm unsure what else they have going on. There are also pool tables and a shuffle board table. The shuffle board is tons of fun! The drinks aren't badly priced either. Last time I was there I ordered 2 tacos and 2 pints of bud light and I think the total was something like $9. Not too shabby if you ask me. Definitely recommended for taco Tuesday! read more

We've lived near Bogey's for a while and after noticing so many cars outside of it in the evenings decided to give it a try. There were 4 of us and we all had a variety of food - mango habanero chicken, sirloin, tuna melt, and burger. Every single person thought their food was great. Their side salads are loaded with green lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cheese. The sautéed veggies were so fresh and yummy. Prices are great. Everyone can find something for them, healthy to comfort. We also had the wings and fried pickles and mushroom apps. They make 'em fresh. Don't wait years to try! 10/10! read more

This is definitely a lesson learned. We were here earlier in week to watch NBA final. The service was ok and same with the bar food. We decided to comeback on a Friday to watch the NBA finals. We sat down we asked the waitress if she could put the game on the TV that was not tuned to any channel. She said that the Pad that works as a remote was being charged and she couldn't tune in game but she it would be charged in a few minutes so we decided to order food and wait. I recently realized that most of my reviews are of the 4/5 star variety. My theory on this is that when I visit somewhere I really like, I can't wait to shout it to the world. Otherwise, I just make a mental note never to return, forget about it and go on with my life. Well since I don't want people to think that I love everything (and discount my reviews thusly) I'll write something about this place. Went on a Saturday night to see a friend's band... and couldn't get a drink. Not because of a long line, mind you, but instead because there was one bartender that never came to our end of the bar. There is seriously a 100 ft bar in there, and a single bartender patrolling only the first 20 feet of it. And not the part by the band. Other than that frustration, I really have nothing else positive to say about this place. Kind of old and run down on the inside. If you live anywhere in Tempe and are looking for a sports bar, I can't think of a reason to go here. read more

Went here with my husband for drinks and grub. Decent food and drinks. Husband ordered what he thought was a 3$ Guinness from a can. When we got our check it was 5$. They listed all the premium bottles are 3$ on happy hour. Under the list it has Guinness can. When we showed this to the waitress she said it was because they used to serve the smaller cans of Guinness in that and they served him a larger can. I said "how is this our fault he ordered that specifically because it was the happy hour price" the waitress response "it's not my fault either, the menu hasn't been updated and he already drank it so I can't fix it, plus it's only 2$...." While the food was OK, the service definitely left something to be desired. We had multiple people serving our party, which made it confusing as to who we could actually ask when we needed something. The initial waitress was friendly and helpful but after she delivered our first round we lost sight of her. Our second server we all mistook for the bus boy, and as it turns out was a far more accurate description. After about three people ordered drinks his eyes glossed over and he admittedly couldn't even remember the second persons drink. We would have valued his honesty if he had not also been visibly irritated that such a large group dare order from him. The service rant aside, Bogey's hosts a pretty fun trivia night and there specials are plentiful and worthwhile. The bar is large and spacious offering outdoor seating and shuffleboard ( a personal favorite of mine). While I wouldn't go out of my way to frequent this semi dive bar, if that's where to group wants to go, I wouldn't object. read more
