It's crazy to say this but I have lived in Boise for 30+ years and have never been on a majority of…read morethe greenbelt. I have been to a couple spots but not a good portion of the belt. It was sunny, warm and beautiful out today so I took it as a sign to take a bike ride along the river. I started my ride at the Marigold and Glenwood entrance. I made my way down the path. A lot of construction going on for the new park that is being built by the Fairgrounds. I look forward to checking it out when it's finally complete. The ride along the river was beautiful. The trail was easy to ride and had a lot of spots you can stop at to check out. Wildlife, plant life and of course the water. Every stretch of the river is so different. I did stop at a part of the river that looked like a lagoon. The trees covering the benched area. The sun shining through the branches. You get beautiful rays of sun peaking through. It was truly a magical area. Made my way further down by the white water rafting area. People everywhere on thier bikes or folks just walking. Everyone had the same idea about enjoying this beautiful weather today. We were all soaking up mother earth. I biked all the way down to Main and Chinden. I decided to flip around. I still had to ride my bike home and didn't want to overwhelm myself with a longer ride back to my house which was another mile from the Marigold entrance. If I would have had a partner with me or have driven to the river, I probably would have continued on. But, that's for another adventure! This stretch of the river was so pretty. I'm happy I got to check it out today. It's amazing how beautiful our little city is. I'm looking forward to checking out the other side of the river heading towards Eagle. I'm sure it's just a beautiful as what I experienced today.

Spanning 25 miles and connecting several towns, the Boise River Greenbelt is an absolute marvel of…read morea public park. I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

Every year, the Kidney Foundation of Ut and Id holds our Kidney Walk at Ann Morrison Park. And…read moreevery year, the park is always pretty, serene and a part of our city that I absolutely adore. The park is clean. The bridges that connect to each side of the river is so peaceful to walk over. Watching the river run it's course, seeing people float the river while leaving their cares behind or just soaking up the sun while on the bridge is just magical. It's one of the best parts of the park. Our walk was amazing today. We held our event at the Old Timers Shelter. As always, the picnic tables were clean. The foliage was lush. And our park was sparkling. It was great seeing people running, walking and cycling on the greenbelt. We made our way on our path passing the Ann Frank memorial and hitting a part of Julia Davis. This park will always have a piece of my heart. I will always remember the Boise River Festival. The big water fountain. Playing at the park and heading the ducks. Swinging on the swings chatting with a boy I was talking to. I look foward to many more memories at this park in my future.

It is especially great for dogs with the large off-leash Dog Island that has open play areas and even a swim pond. This 153-acre park was created in 1959 and also hosts events like the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. Highly recommend it for a fun day in the sun!

Lots of benches to sit at and a fire pit. Today 12/13/23 from 4-5:30pm crew...this one's for you! The reason for this YELP review is to express gratitude for the crew in charge of sending us down the snow lanes. My daughter (4yrs old) was so terrified to go down the slides and they were so kind. So gentle. Such great cheer leaders to motivate her to do it. After 3 attempts they finally convinced her to do it and she loved it. My parents (both in their 70's) my husband my daughter and myself will talk about this experience for years to come. While at dinner my dad thanked us for making today one of his favorite days in his life. My little one is still talking about how fun it was and how everyone clapped for her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I could hug the guys working there I would've. Thank you thank you and thank you.

So.... stinkin'..... much..... fun…read more I knew nothing about this place until we went to Idaho to visit my brother and sister-in-law. They'd rolled their eyes, promised, nearly guaranteed there'd be snow. I mean it's bloody Idaho....in January. There WILL be snow. But of course, the few days we were there? None on the ground and not a single flake fell. But the Gateway saved us! Like I said we knew nothing. So we didn't book or pay on-line or sign any waivers in advance. We rolled up with cash in our pockets and said we wanted to play. The runs were fast and fun. There was one with a jump large enough that I got airborne several times. The staff that manned the runs were upbeat and energetic. And it was a great opportunity for this hevier-than-he-ought-to-be visitor to get some vigorous exercise. I loved the intertube design!! Someone clearly has given that some thought. The skins that covered the intertubes were freakishly fast and the handles were thick and rugged and comfortable. It was especially awesome to set the intertube down at the top of a run, back up 3 or 4 big steps, and give it a running, leaping start. Just for a minute as I was in the air or as I was screaming sideways down the run I could relish the sense of invincibility that teenagers and 20-somethings enjoy as a routine part of life. It was wonderful.

This is a fun place to cool off on a hot day. Plenty of parking that lines the pond area so you…read moredon't have to carry things very far to get to the water. There's a nice sandy beach where you can set up your things. If you need it there are shaded and unshaded picnic tables on the pavement and bike racks to lock up your bikes nearby. Lots of ducks and geese so watch for poop bombs but not that bad. Overall a clean park. We noticed scuba divers, fishermen, magnet fishers, kayakers, and lots of paddle boards. The water is pretty clear and clean and is on the cooler side. There are rentals available if you want to pick up a paddle board or bring your own. On the hot summer weekends, get there before 11am because there is little to no parking after noon.

I've been to the Old Idaho Penitentiary; I've been to the Botanical Gardens; I've been to Table…read moreRock; but, until today, I had never been to (or even noticed) this park which is within walking distance of all three! What an great little park! A large expanse of field for all your recreational needs (there were kids playing soccer while we were there and still plenty of field to enjoy). They have a great play ground with equipment flanked by benches and surrounded by trees so you can easily sit and watch the kiddos at play in the shade. There is a nice covered picnic area (conveniently adjacent to the bathrooms) where you could enjoy a little alfresco picnic style dining (or even reserve for an outdoor party or gathering). They have a single basketball court. And, there's even a couple tennis courts for those who like to volley their way to a little game-set-match. The parking area is rather small, but the parking at the Table Rock trailhead is also quite close if overflow was needed. Overall a great park, with great amenities, in an awesome location. Get to it!
