Boho Bungalow is a great gift and soy candle shop. There are so many great items on display that will make your loved one's special day even more special. My husband surprised me with a candle making workshop / class. The website says that you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks to enhance the candle fun. Hot wax and small vittles are a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Jenn our fearless soy candle leader was informative and fun. I appreciate her authenticity and real connection that she made with us. It was nice to meet someone who was able to be themself. Refreshing. The entire class was an intimate group of five total. Jenn took her time with us and made sure that we were happy with the scents we chose for our candles. The class spends a bit of time talking about scents and how to layer them. Did I learn how to make candles on my own? No. It was more of an introduction to the world of candle making. Give it a try and dip your wick into it. FYI: You get a 15% store wide discount on the day of the workshop. Scents open up more fully in your candle after a few days. One Disappointment: We checked Google and Yelp for their hours and thought we could make it before they closed. We raced over for our candles after work. Boho Bungalow in Petaluma is not only the cutest store, but they also offer an interactive candle making experience that makes for the perfect reason to travel to Petaluma for a girl's day! The store specializes in homemade candles, scents, crystals, earrings, kitchen accessories, mugs, gifty items, you name it. There is an additional wow factor on the left side of the store, a beautiful open space with 2 large tables for candle making. While looking for a fun outing, I googled local candle making classes and came upon this adorable spot. For around $40/pp you can book ahead (they have a select amount of slots per session) for an experience that includes when you arrive: an industrial but adorable apron to wear, a tray set out that has everything you need for the experience, and a note pad/pen. The class is led by awesome women who guide you to pick your vessel, lead you through the scent process (you get to smell scents ranging from sweet to floral to woodsy to fresh), sticker adhesives so you can name your scent, and then are assisted in creating your perfect candle (wax, wick, so on)! To note: if you don't live in the area, you can pay $7 while in the store to have your candle mailed to you within a few days post class. (you don't receive your candle immediately after because it has to set, but if you live closeby, can pick it up the next day). There are also such great eateries and places to tuck into for dessert, tastings, and more nearby, with plenty of street parking and accessibility. Candle making class was really fun! We came with a group for a birthday party and had a really big room to ourselves. We played a "guess the scent" game which humbled most of our group who walked in thinking they already knew what they were doing- but in a good way because it got us excited, curious, and helped us "buy into" playing with different smells. I wish they had more colors readily available to pick from for our candle jar, but had no trouble finding something cute. We had a great time at the candle making class they offer! I have first booked this class a few weeks ago but due to unforseen circumstances, I've had to reschedule 3 times. The amazing thing about it is we didn't have to call them and hope for someone to let us switch our date, we were able to easily sull do it online with no hassle at all. I even rescheduled the most recent time about an hour before the class started because the traffic was terrible and we were able to turn around and try s new day. So when we walked into the store, the cube was very welcoming and laid back. I didn't realize how much they sell on the non candle side of the store. Lots of fun niche items. Mugs, T-shirts, peanut brittle... So much more. Now, on to the candle making class. They allow you to bring your own bottle and snacks which we did. Jen was our instructor and we were her only students. It was pretty cool because it was almost as if I bought the studio out for our date! Jen was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. First we put on our super cool aprons. Then we selected the scents (or flavors as I like to call them) for our candles. She poured them in a beaker for us and added the hot wax to the candle jars we selected after we put the wick in. It took a couple hours for the wax to harden in the freezer so we went and ran errands. We really enjoyed our time in the class and would highly recommend it. The worst class I have ever taken in my life... this Candle making class was a baffling waste of time... For over an hour, we sat and listened to a lovely but incredibly inarticulate your woman try to host this class. She was unable to complete a single sentence, example.. "um, yeah..like yeah so, yeah let me just show you... it was so bad I thought I was being punked... There is basically no class. You pick your mix of smells, which your host then mixes and measures for you and then she comes by your table and pours hot wax on top. That was it!!! The reason the class took so long was each person mixes their sent one by one.. Had I not been treated to this class I would have walked out. It was mind blowing how we all sat through this class waiting for host to try and finish a complete sentence.. shocking silly waste of time. My candle doesn't even really smell.. utter nonsense.. such a lovely store and nice people but come on folks that's NOT a class.. maybe convert to a custom candle sent bar, (like the body shop used to have with their perfumes), because you could do what we did in max five minutes.. read more

This review is in regards to their candle making class. It was a very quick experience and very hands off. We were sad to find out that all we would really be doing is picking a scent and stirring it into the container. Didn't feel worth $44 a person for a very small candle and little to do. With that price we wish it was a more interactive class with more to do or at the very least a bigger candle. read more

This is a really cute little local store. I had bought a necklace there a while back and wanted to buy another one for a friend. I waited for them to open at 11 as the lady who opened the place was 22 minutes late. I was kind of frustrated. She came out and asked "were you waiting long?" I said yeah more than 20 minutes. The store was supposed to open at 11. She profusely apologized and gave me a friends and family discount which really made me feel better about people not being on time. I was very thankful and appreciative and I will definitely do business there again. read more

Move over Anthr********, Petaluma has its own Boho gift-heaven! The owner was working on the day I was there and she explained that Boho Bungalow is a locally owned Sonoma County micro-chain. It's a fun place to shop, with on-trend gifts, jewelry, self-care and home decor, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. I saw a camera-shaped coffee mug for my photographer friend, monogramed terra-cotta plates that I'd use to hold trinkets and lots of pretty, high-quality jewelry that won't break the bank. The store has plenty of things made locally, including candles, soaps and all kinds of beauty elixirs. Plus, piles of pillows, inspiring wall art and stuff for guys, too! I'll be popping-in often as this seems like the kind of place that will always have something new. read more

Quality & customer service, both 5/5 stars!!!! I received my first product from Boho Bungalow as a gift, and got so many compliments I was fueled for gift ideas for others. I chose several items - some for me and some for gifts, and when the USPS tracking said my package had been delivered but I had no package to speak of, Faith and her team did everything to make it right and then some. The crew at Boho Bungalow responded quickly to emails and were truly joyful to communicate with. Every touch point made me feel at ease, and I enjoyed my communications with them. I received my replacement package, and then when a neighbor delivered my original order that had gone to their place by mistake, Faith suggested I share her beautiful products with others instead of ship it back like I had suggested. This kind of engagement is how brand loyalty is built. My boyfriend and i came into this shop today while walking around Petaluma. I had on an attachment to my blouse that kept coming loose so he asked the woman behind the counter if they sold safety pins. She was a short, boxy shaped woman, with short brown hair. She glared at us in the most rude way, said 'no' and promptly walked away. I've been in the store once before and purchased a small pillow for $65. This store is not reasonably priced for hardly any of its items, it's very niche and the items are unique which is why I went there the first time and enjoyed myself (with a different woman behind the counter.) Im tempted to call again and try to reach the owner to share my experience, i believe i met her when i visited the first time. What a horribly rude person to have as the face of your business. My bf is visiting from out of town and was still open to spending money there despite our poor treatment. He was desperate to find gifts to bring home from the trip. I would never let that happen. If someone in a store is rude the last thing you should do is reward them with your hard earned money. We took our money elsewhere. Today was a horrible shopping experience for us, sadly. I do also wonder if we would've been treated as badly if we weren't people of color as Petaluma is very lacking in diversity. I recently found this store and I'm in love! I popped in last week looking for a few bridesmaids gifts. Since it was near closing, I asked the woman who was working for some help to speed things along. She helped me put together the cutest presents within the price range I requested and wrapped them much better than I would have. Let me prefix this with saying, I'm writing this review based on the fact I felt targeted for my ethnicity: I had just recently entered the store around 4:30 pm on 1/26 because its items are quite unique and interesting. I haven't purchased any items because it seems to be unreasonably priced. Today I was with friends and was looking at some bracelets. I was going to purchase them but later put it back because I didn't truly need it and didn't find the need to spend 7.50$ for a simple bracelet. Before wanting to leave I looked at the rings that are at the counter and soon left, afterwards I was going to leave until the employee stopped me and asked if I had bought the bracelet (keep in mind she's the only worker at the time) and I just shook my head. I already knew where this was going. She made me show her where I left the bracelet and before I even tried pointing to which one it was she already had pointed it out. I just left very unsatisfied. If she had already knew what bracelet it was and where it was placed, then why did she have the need to call me out in front of a customer she was working with? I find that very unprofessional. read more
