Found this place on Yelp on a cold winter day. It was perfect. A ton of options to mix into your hot pot and some great cold items as well. There were four in our group with one complete rookie. I just want to say, I gave this place a second chance and it failed me even harder than the first time around. I've been to many ayce and non-ayce Shabu places and this place is the only place I won't be coming back or recommending anyone to waste their time here. The customer service was non-existent. We came on a Sunday, it wasn't packed and we were sat right away. No one came to our table for over 15 mins until one server came by took our paper and didn't even say anything to us or looked at us. After that we waited over 30 mins for anyone to take our second round of meat. When I went up to that server if we can get some service at our table she proceed to tell us that she's not even our server and she's just "helping out." Well how were we supposed to know that if she didn't saying anything and our actual server never even came to our table. Talk about poor communication and service. They took forever to refill our soup. They took over an hour refill the rice at the buffet line. Just overall we left with a sad bad taste in our mouth. I don't know where to start lol have been here twice and both experiences have been 5/5. Both times I have been here, the wait was MAYBE 5 min. We have gotten lucky both times though because the moment we sit down, the place got pretty packed right after. Tried the Sichuan, Soondooboo and Spicy Miso broths and they were all very good. If you want a bit more flavor and spice, definitely recommend the sichuan. For the appetizers, we got the volcano chicken and the japchae noodle. Both very delicious(I reeeeeally like the volcano chicken lol) The meat selection is pretty standard. Can choose from chicken, beef, lamb and I think pork. You have the choice of getting three trays of each thinly sliced meats(per person). Even though it might seem small, you'll get full from everything else they offer at the buffet line lol At the buffet line, there are PLENTY of options from the vegetables to the seafood. They have scallops, fish balls, shrimp balls, tilapia, clams, blue crab and shrimp. The vegetable choices ranges from bokchoy, mushrooms, spinach to squash, corn and a whole lot more. They have a little sauce bar that is the highlight for me. There they have the soy sauce, ponzu, vinegar and others. There is chili paste sauce, green onions, minced garlic and just a good amount of ingredients to either enhance your broth or dipping sauce that you can make on your own. To end everything you get a little ice cream cup at the end. I definitely recommend this place, especially to bring the family for a new experience if you haven't been yet. I thought the service was very good, especially our server, and there is a large selection, however I had a killer stomachache in the middle of the night. Maybe the shrimp or scallops. The meat was fresh and very well cooked so it must've been one of those. And honestly I would rather go for Korean barbecue at this price. It's a great different type of food to try if you haven't had it, but if you're not going to take advantage of the large selection there are other places that are much cheaper. The meat is anywhere from 2 to 4 very thinly sliced pieces and you only get three rounds and three different types of meat each time per person. So I liked it and I didn't like it. It's a personal opinion. I went there for a family gathering and didn't choose the place. We were a large group and the orders were filled according to ordered, but they charged us for drinks we didn't order. They let us take some extra ice creams to eat to cover the extra drinks we paid for. I didn't like that, I would have rather been refunded for the drinks we didn't order. All of the beef basically tasted the same. The buffet didn't have a lot of things I personally like, but I'm a picky eater. For some who like a lot of meat, they slice it really thin, so that could be good for someone who likes shabu shabu. The soup would be nice for a cold day. Some of the servers are really nice (Jenny was super attentive and sweet) but sadly we won't be coming back. The salad bar offered a wide variety of selections but everything seemed frozen and didn't seem all that fresh (Especially the leafy vegetables). Really wanted to like this place and had been wanting to come here for a while but sadly the meat quality here did not live up to expectations. The first round of meats I got were chewy and not good at all which made me not want to keep ordering more. Broth was also ok nothing great but I definitely have had way better at other locations. This place does have a good veggie/condiments bar even with seafood and basically anything you could want in your hotpot. Will say tho that sometimes quality is better than quantity Random side note too but the way the hotpot rigs in the table are set up makes it uncomfortable to sit at some of the booths as a lot of legroom gets taken up. Don't know if this would be a problem for others but I'm pretty tall so I definitely noticed. Sitting at tables might solve this issue. Service was good too and everyone was very friendly! Came here with friends on a Sunday afternoon. This was my first time trying this place out. The restaurant is big and the seats are not crowded or packed. The inside is clean, and contemporary. I was surprised to see all the fresh ingredients it offered. They have a large selection of veggies, along with seafood to choose from and also a bunch of different traditional asian ingredients for hotpot. Their meat selection are great for beef lovers. There's only 1 choice for Lamb, and/or Chicken. Also only 1 choice of Pork. I went with their Spicy Miso broth and it was perfect. The spiciness didn't overpower the miso flavor. Service was outstanding. The staff were all friendly and attentive. At the end of the meal, it was A LOT OF FOOD!!!! Not gonna complain though. Our group enjoyed it and were all left satisfied. Picking the soup was hard because we love all of those soups. If you like spicy, highly recommend Sichuan. We liked that we can control the heat of the pot, by just a button! You also get to choose one side (small appetizer) per person, we tried japchae and volcanoe chicken, like a chicken karage! 10/10 we loved them both! I wish I ate more of it but at same time, there was so much food! For the meats for hotpot, we got some beef just to try, and for the experience. My mom and I are not really meat eaters, but they were good. I think people who do like meat will love it. They are thinly sliced and was pretty cool to watch it cook after two dips haha. Now let's get to the rest of the buffet, they have TONS of seafood. We love seafood, so this is for you if you do as well! We got fish balls, shrimp balls, squid, clams, scallops!! We didn't get to try the blue crab or shrimp but def on our list next time! They also have so many veggie options, another of our fave, we got different kind of mushrooms, corn, spinach, fried tofu, bokchoy, squash and they were all so fresh!!! We're just amazed! Particularly Ni in the picture below and her good friend Bernie (camera shy, thus no pic). But once you find Ni, you will know who is Bernie right away. (It's like that 1st instinct and I explain a little more below).... My wife and I have been coming here for the last two years (almost every weekend) and every time we walk through that door, both Ni and Bernie immediately greet us with a big hug, even bigger smile and with the biggest can-do personalty. Pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed my meal. Shabu is very easy to do at home, surprisingly after my meal, I had the feeling of wanting to bring my parents so that they can experience it. The broths Our table got Spicy miso - blandest Tum yum -bland Sichuan - slight kick/ herbal taste I would still get tum yum but remix it more with stuff from the bar Sauces: Just have to note that the boiling world sauce is a little fishy, it's ok but I'd pass. Also the goma/sesame sauce was wack, so next time, I will bring my own goma. Ponzu and yuzu were decent. The meats: Quality was good but after the third round, the meat starts looking a little sh*tty. You get the more beautiful instagramable meats the first few rounds. Service was top notch. Out of all the AYCE I have been to lately, this one is prob the best. This location is great for big groups. The variety is pretty considerable. We also enjoyed the little ice creams at the end. Cons: Sadly, the food was disappointing. The broths were terribly bland and the sauce options were the worst I've experienced at a hotpot. We didn't care for any of the appetizers. They were also bland and fries seemed undercooked. They have a decent selection of vegetarian-friendly broths (miso and spicy miso) and a ton of different veggies, proteins, and sauces, all served buffet-style which I love because I'm a fan of getting as much as I want of what I like and not having to get any of what I don't. I was told every sauce except for the ponzu sauce is vegetarian-friendly, which was very exciting to hear! The one downside is that an appetizer is included as part of each order but the appetizer selection isn't great. I chose the Japchae appetizer which was fine but paled in comparison to the noodles available at the buffet tables so it almost seemed pointless. My husband had the French Fries/Curry Poutine as his appetizer which, unfortunately, he didn't like at all. We truly could've done without appetizers. read more

The broth is bland and that was everyone's broth, the meat was sliced so thin it tore apart trying to pick it up and I have no idea how they include gratuity. Service wasn't terrible, but no where near justifying automatically including it. The bar itself was fine, and the food was ok, but I didn't see or taste any type of value to go back again. Service was cool but the buffet line was perty whack. Most of the sauces I like were watered down - from the ponzu to sesame sauce. Had a couple pieces of the small crab and it was practically rancid. All the different balls came out frozen, and tasted pretty mediocre. The only thing that was half decent was the kombu water for the hot pot. I have to admit the restaurant was pretty nice, just the food didn't match the level of ambiance and decor of the restaurant. Just fyi, the "all you can eat" is limited to subpar/filler items on the buffet line. They only allow you to order 3 rounds, of 3 dishes, which come with 3 pieces each (total 27 PCS). Pretty hanky and misleading if you ask me. And then they cut the meat paper thin, like thinner than a usual hotpot restaurant. Food: I really liked the meat, soup bases, and vegetable variety. This place has everything individualized which makes it easier for the table. Each person gets their own meat plates and can order up to 3 plates at a time. I like this concept because if you're with more than one person, you don't have to worry about sharing the meat. This place is so HOT (literally)!!! This was our first visit to the boiling world, and we definitely will be back. It's an all you can eat hot pot spot, where you can order a variety of meats (lamb, beef chuck eye, beef belly, beef shank, beef brisket, beef rib eye, beef top blade, pork belly, tripe, and chicken breast), and then you can self serve from a variety of veggies, noodles, fish balls, and seafood! They also have plenty of items to make your own sauce. The dinner was a decent price ($28.99), and also included one appetizer (you can order things like gyoza and sushi) and ice cream. I got the California rolls which were solid, and I enjoyed the strawberry ice cream for dessert. They forgot to give us ice cream at the end, so I had to chase them down, but I was able to get the dessert I craved. Service was excellent. The wait staff was pleasant and friendly, and they explained everything to us since it was our first time. The inside was big, clean, and modern. The music inside is also BUMPING! My family really enjoys this place because of the seafood and meat quality. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. We've only been on the weekends, when they have seafood. Apparently on the weekday they don't have seafood. There's plenty of veggies (e.g. bok choy, broccoli, Napa cabbage, etc.) , carbs (ramen, udon, rice, etc), meats (pork, lamb, chicken, beef). The bases are pretty good. I've had the tom yum and spicy miso, which were both good. The lunch and dinner prices differ (see photo). You can order as much as you like (except for appetizers which is an extra cost). When you sit, you order 2 meats, an appetizer, a base. Then you can go get your veggies, seafood, carbs, dipping sauces, etc. It's like a buffet style place with lots of options. In general, the price is worth for ayce. You also get free ice cream at the end of your meal. Each time I went, I definitely rolled out instead of walked out. Prepare to be very full and very satisfied. read more

Food and ambience was FANTASTIC! Great Friday night outting with family friends at this joint. Broth was tasty, meat was brought out promptly, and food was delicious! So why the 3 stars? Unfortunately, the service. Made reservation for 9 plus one baby 3 weeks prior for a Friday night gathering at Boiling World. I called again a couple of hours before the reservation to verify for 9 plus one baby. So not sure why front desk was surprised when she saw a total of 10 people?!? Last I recall, babies are people. Pretty sure my baby "identifies" as a person... Plenty of parking whether onsite or at the mall. Ambience is best for friends or family, but also manageable for a date night. This place is easy to spot right across the "Q" store at Ontario Mills. Outside is clean and so is the inside. Similar to a sushi spot, mark what you'd like - broths, meat, and other deliciousness! There's a side bar for putting together your dipping sauce, frozen fish, vegetables, kimchi, rice, and many varieties to savor your flavor. Food was fantastic and so were the drinks - especially enjoyed some hot sake on a Friday night after a long week. Personally I would rather go to one of my favorite Shabu spots, but for being AYCE this spot was pretty decent. Probably won't return since there are competitive selections in the area, but was still glad to have checked this spot off our list. Now back to the service... I specifically told them, as soon as we sat, that our party will have separate checks to avoid any nuances later on. Jill practically was having my wife do HER job - maybe Jill should've paid my wife, instead? That was the last straw from Jill dear. However, Miguel, the other server that attended to our party was very attentive and not only made our meal enjoyable by ensuring we had food come out in a timely fashion, but he also fixed Jill's laziness issue with splitting the check.
