    SATAY BROTH TPUMPS
    Lisa T.

Wow, the best service I had in a while! The service was great from start to finish! Sweet fires had been on my list to try so for one of our date night we decided to come here! You pay and pick before you sit down. Sweet Fire's has a hot pot and drink combo! You pick your soup base, toppings, protein, and lastly a drink. I picked the macadamia milk tea and it was absolutely delicious. The pot is smaller than other pot I have been to but still packed with flavors. They give you a small bowl of rice but I believe you can ask for more. I would add noodles or additional meats for a bigger meal but the portion was just right for me. The only thing I didn't like was that the pot didn't stay hot the whole time and wish the veggies were cooked longer. I like my veggies not as hard. They did give us samples of their appetizers and shaved ice which were super yummy. Overall, for the price, you can't beat this hot pot and drink combo! Come check them out!

This was an INCREDIBLE meal! Massive portions, delicious hotpot, and so many options. From vegetarian, pescatarian, or beef broths (with so many flavor profiles to choose from) to all of the add-ins, we were so blown away by this local gem. And, the prices were so reasonable. Diem made great recommendations and treated us to some wonderful appetizers and we cannot wait to be back!!

First time trying Sweet Fires and it was so good! I had the satay with chicken and cabbage dumplings, ramen noodles, beef, and a sweetened green tea for only $12.99, and it even came with an appetizer. The service was great, lots of refills, complimentary white rice, and they even brought us playing cards while we waited. We went as a family of five and spent just $76. Definitely coming back!

This was my first time coming here and my experience was amazing! The restaurant is so clean and it is gorgeous. The staff are amazing and super attentive as well as knowledgeable on their menu items. Shout out to Saja! I personally cannot eat pork so whenever I try a new soup spot I always ask what kind of broth they use, but the staff assured me that their broths are either beef or vegetarian. While they do have pork products it is only added to the soups upon request. I got the masala and Szechuan soup with 8 dumplings (chicken and veggie) + udon noodles and it was divine! I also got a peach coconut milk tea which was lovely. This place is a 10/10 so if you're in the Upland area or visiting and want some good soup please make your way down! Edit: I was also able to try their turnip dumplings and shaved ice. Sadly the turnip dumplings were devoured before I could think of taking a photo but they were super crispy and flavorful I will be coming back here again!

Unexpectedly delicious. For $12.99 with a free tea or $3 to upgrade your tea! You get 1 free dumpling in your soup but you can add more (unless you choose the dumplings topping option). Service was great, they explained how to order and came around to offer more rice. Love that it is local and very affordable for the high schoolers as well.

Light Sukiyaki Broth + Veggie + Beef. Unlimited rice on the side and a free boba drink.

Had a friend recommend this and will be back. No gatekeeping here. Food: I got the Light Sukiyaki Broth + Veggie + Beef and split it with someone. They have unlimited rice on the side, so it was more than enough for us. They also has this peanut dipping sauce that was just amazing. A must try. Drink: There's a selection of free boba from nextdoor (Tpumps) for your choosing. Upgrade your drink to more custom flavors for $3. It's HUGE. Service: We were greeted by Diem and helped by Lorenzo. They were very helpful and made us feel welcome. Excellent service. They even gave us samples (bao dumpling, bun, shaved ice w/ condensed milk) and an extra drink on the house. For around $15 for 2, this was such a good option. Even if you solo it, it's still a lot at an affordable price.

Inside the bao bun. Not sure but I think it was vegetables inside. Soft and fluffy with a nice crunchy bottom.

Customer Service is top tier! Saja and the other lady were very accommodating, patient, and kind. The place is cute, there's a TV on the wall running loops of food and customer photos. Plenty of seating, Place your order at the register and then wait to be seated. Upon being shown to my table, they serve appetizers consisting of a vegetable Bao Bun and a Chicken Dumpling with sesame and sweet chili sauce for dipping. The dumpling had a good crunch on the bottom but the top portion of the dumpling wrapper was really hard and waxy/plastic tasting. Hard to explain, but basically they tasted like they were probably fried hours ago and kept under a heat lamp. Score: 6/10 The bun was delicious. Not sure if it was vegetables inside, but nothing noticeable. The bun was so soft and fluffy, I really liked it. Score: 8/10 On the table they provide you with 3 sauces for dipping your hotpot ingredients into--which included a sour garlic sauce, a garlic chili sauce, and a soy vinegar sauce. Wish they offered green onions, but nevertheless, mixing all three together turned out to be a very flavorful sauce. I ordered the Mala and Satay combination broth with chicken and cabbage dumplings and choice of glass noodles. My protein was beef. My hotpot was so delicious. The combo of mala and satay broths were fire and I would order it again except with less mala broth and more satay broth, and also probably add veggies. Beware that mala broth is very spicy. I was picking out pieces of red chili for days cuz I didn't want to take the chance on biting down on one of them. The beef was superb. It was sliced thinly and it just melted in my mouth. Score: 9/10 I really enjoyed the glass noodles in the soup. I'm used to ramen noodles and this was a nice change. The texture of the noodles were perfectly chewy. Since I had so much broth leftover I ordered more glass noodles to go and they were also so nice to give me a full container of satay broth on the house to take home, so that I could try to cool down the spiciness a little. For my drink I chose the caramel cinnamon milk tea. The milk teas are made with nondairy creamer which was perfect for my lactose intolerant self. It was very tasty and perfectly sweet. A little honey boba added would have set it over the top. Score: 7.5/10 What I really like about this hotpot spot is that everything is customizable from the soup broth, the noodles, the meats and veggies. They have a Vegetable Hotpot for the vegetarians. What I love most is that I can get a small app, a choice of drink, and an entree all for about $15-$16 dollars.

This is an extension of Tpumps but they specialize in hot pot. Similar to the concept of boiling point, they offer a variety of soup bases like miso, satay, etc. you can also upgrade your drinks with a Tpumps drink as well. The pots come with a side of rice. The service is always so friendly here. They often bring out some complementary appetizers as well for you to try. You pick your food at the front and pay then get seated and the food comes out pretty quick. I personally always go for the satay beef option. It's flavorful and comes with an assortment of vegetables, meatballs, fish cakes, beef, etc.

Found Sweet Fires on Yelp when looking for hot pot spots. Usually we go to AYCE but this one looked really good and affordable. And it did not disappointment. The location itself is pretty small but we had no wait time when we went and it is very clean and cozy. The service was spectacular. The staff were super friendly and nice. They kept coming to check on us the whole time we were there. The food was all great. Each hotpot includes an appetizer , dumpling, your choice of broth, meat, and toppings and also includes a tea or milk tea. They also come with a side of rice that is refillable. The food was delicious and they also serve you a lot. i went for the satay broth with beef and sweet fires combo and my boyfriend got the coconut curry broth with beef and sweet fire combo. Both were really good but i think i liked the coconut curry broth better although it is thicker and not as soupy as the satay broth. The beef was very tender and Almost reminded of the gyudon beef from yoshinoya. Overall the meal cost us under 30 dollars and that's including tip. The price can't be beat and I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

First time here and it was amazing. We tried the Coconut milk broth with beef dumplings and noodles, satay with sweet fire and beef and miso with dumplings, noodles and turkey sausage and they all were amazing. The food came out so fast and perfect. The entire staff was the so friendly and nice. The whole experience was great. The place was clean and quiet. We will definitely be returning and trying more.

One of the best place fo have lunch at! The hotpot and service at Sweet Fires is in its name - Fire !!!! Diem was super professional and she knows how to tend to people's needs. The other staffs were also always asking if they can do anything for you (free refill on rice btw). Pretty spacious and chill! Board games after food with friends is also fun!

We love Sweet Fires! This was our second time here. It is an order and pay at the counter first and then be seated to receive your food setup. It is a great deal as it includes a tea as well. Everything was delicious and I ended up taking half to go as it was so much food!

It's been 8 months since my last review & I've been back a few times since then. Every time the service has been BEYOND exceptional. They've even added a few more new offerings since the last time I was here. Not into fish cakes? They have dumplings now. They even have more soup base offerings including curry. I always have to get dessert and it's great too. They now have individual sizes so I had to try that too. It did not disappoint. Ambiance is nice and chill with TV's all around and music too. The staff here is very attentive as well so If you want good food with superb service, please don't hesitate to try this place out!

It was organized, safe, and still such a great experience. We have been coming back ever since. If you're wondering what keeps me coming back... First, the service is incredible. There is an older gentleman with salt and pepper hair who is always so professional and kind. He carries himself with such calm confidence and respect. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, but he truly stands out every single time. Second, the OPTIONS. The spread here is amazing. From sauces to fresh vegetables, noodles, seafood, fruit, and dessert, there is something for everyone. And can we talk about the watermelon? For some reason, it is always perfectly sweet. Every single time. I am a huge shrimp lover, so being able to make my own shrimp in the hot pot is a dream. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly how I like it. It is such a fun experience. Pro tip: Here is the sauce combo I put together and it is chef's kiss. In a bowl add jalapeños, cucumbers, hot chili, chili oil, sesame oil, and ponzu sauce. Then top it with fresh cilantro. It is so fresh, spicy, tangy, and delicious. You will thank me later. If you are looking for a place that is comfortable, not overwhelmingly crowded, and consistently delivers great food and service, this is the place to go. We have been loyal ever since we found it, and it never disappoints.

Quite Frankly it's unbeatable if you do a dollar to food quality to variety ratio. So I went with a Tom Yum base. They had great kimchi here, the hot pot content bar was very atypical of a Malatang place. Cuts of beef were ok, lamb ok. I mean, if you weren't lazy you could pull off the same thing at home, nothing fascinating. 'specially after patronizing Temple City's Migaya Wagyu Shabu Shabu House.....two totally different worlds you can actually taste. The Indonesian Hospitality here was excellent. Servers take extra effort to treat you like a house guest. And guess the highlight is the ice cream cup at the end. Overall, id say this place is better priced at 10% off.

The value is definitely the main highlight, pricing is fair for AYCE and you get a decent variety of meats, veggies, and sides. For a casual hot pot night, it's hard to complain on cost alone. That said, there were a few things that made the experience a bit less smooth. Parking was a challenge since the plaza gets very busy, so it took a while to find a spot. Inside, the setup was also a little confusing at first the hot pot being built into the table takes some getting used to, and it made it slightly awkward to get the soup out comfortably while cooking. Food-wise, it was good, but the refill timing was inconsistent. A few items like meat and fruit ran out faster than expected, and we had to wait a while, sometimes close to 30 minutes for refills to come back out. Service was okay overall, just a bit slow during peak rush. Still, for the price point and AYCE format, it's a good deal. I'd come back, just with lower expectations on speed and pacing. 4 stars mainly for value.

No drink orders, no "we'll be right with you", nothing... This would've been the point of walking out, but my kids were saying they were hungry and going to another restaurant at that point would've been too late for their bedtime. I ended up walking up to a server who was about to help another table that was seated after us and said we'd like to order as no one's helped us. After finishing what he was doing, he walked up to our table with an ordering tablet and didn't say a word, just stood there staring at us. He took our order, got it wrong a few times, then FINALLY got our food. Not one server checked in on us the whole meal. Not one server offered the check. Just constant flagging down servers for everything. Our server, Sarah, was friendly, attentive, and quick to help with anything we needed. We had the Beef and the Taiwan dishes, and both were delicious as always. We'll definitely be back again soon. Looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended.

Very pleasant experience…read more Went on a Friday around 6:30 PM. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a waitlist where you write down your name and number. The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.
