Beef 18. Satay Beef Pot 沙茶牛肉鍋
    Daphne D.

Large free parking lot, which is always convenient. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code and placing your order from your phone. Tried the satay beef pot -- it was good, though nothing particularly stood out. Also tried the calamari which was standard. Casual vibes with nice service overall.

I've been here a couple times for lunch and it's been a pretty good experience! They give out free black/green tea during lunch which is very refreshing but a little too sweet. I got the Beef Sukiyaki and it was just perfect! Loved the amount of meat they gave, the broth, veggies, and the udon was the perfect touch to this dish. I would come here more often if I was local. It's a better alternative to Boiling Point since there's generally no wait!

Always so satisfying here, whether it's during summer or during a cold winter night. They're typically understaffed since it's only 1-2 servers who manages the whole front of the house (bills, cleanup, make drinks, serve). Tables were open but still a wait since they couldn't clean up in time. House special pot is always good, with a choice of spice level and rice or vermicelli. I always get medium spice with rice. Their popcorn chicken pot is also good, with savory crispy chicken served on the side. Lamb and curry pot are also very yums. You won't be disappointed in any of them. Each pot has different toppings in the pot, but usually a lot of variety including cabbage, corn, quail eggs, meatballs, clams, tofu, etc. The sauces are what makes it more delicious . I love the garlic and soy bean paste for dipping. This place also has my favorite almond milk tea. Love their type of almond flavor here.

Me and friends, this one of our favorite spots to have lunch and never disappoints for some good hotpot! The Sukiyaki pot is one of my favorites here, so good and flavorful! Not spicy either. Since it's a lunch special, you get an iced tea either black or green flavor with your hotpot. In the past, we didn't have good service but for this visit it was good!

Tried the Vegetarian Mushroom Pot here yesterday and it was underwhelming. The broth was extremely bland--basically tasted like lightly salted water. It felt like the ingredients (veggies and mushrooms) were just added to plain water and left to cook, without any real depth of flavor. Even the greens tasted bitter. They also forgot to include the rice that was supposed to come with the order. I didn't bother bringing it up since the food had already killed my appetite at that point. If a restaurant is going to include vegetarian hot pot on the menu, there needs to be more thought put into the broth. Even without meat-based stock, there are plenty of ways to build flavor--herbs, spices, and traditional ingredients like star anise or jujube can make a big difference. The ambience is nice, good customer service, but the baseline (food) is not there.

Good food, ok service. I came for a work lunch and the restaurant filled up quickly at lunchtime. Their menu is similar to Boiling Point but might have even more options! They also have free teas provided, not sure if it's just for lunch though because it wasn't on the menu. I got the House Special Pot at mild spice and it was super yummy and enough food where I had leftovers. Unfortunately the service was a bit disappointing though. One of my coworkers hadn't realized that the House Special Pot he ordered came with clams as well and he's allergic to shellfish so had to stop eating out of caution. When he raised this with staff they just told him it was on the menu and he should've noted it when ordering. There was no support in pointing him to other pots that didn't have shellfish and so he spent most of the lunch looking through the menu more carefully and making it clear with them to not include shellfish.

Saw another Taiwanese hot pot not BP and decided to try it out. I got the house special pot mild spicy. The soup had a very strong Chinese Bullhead BBQ taste. The meat quality was not good for the default option. Lots of greens in the pot but not much of the other stuff. The popcorn chicken was great. Chicken has flavor and was crispy. The pot is on the pricier side and if you want good meat it is an additional add on. Ordered via a QR code and the service was good. Small restaurant but lots of parking. Would only come back for popcorn chicken.

The food is really good, the soup base is rich and flavorful. They just got new servers recently and they're very friendly

I like to order the tomato pot. Majority of their pots offer pork slices, instead of beef slices, if that is what you prefer. They offer good sauces to dip here, the soy garlic and sesame peanut sauce are so yummy. I like that you can scan the QR code on your table to order since the service is extremely subpar.

My husband and I love coming to Pot on Fire--it's one of our go-to spots for delicious hot pot! The flavors are always on point, and the serving sizes are just right. It's consistently satisfying and comforting. For appetizers, we always order the chicken popcorn (crispy and flavorful!) and the thousand year egg with cold tofu--a must if you're into traditional dishes. The only downside for me, as a bit of a germaphobe, is that the drinks are brought over with hands touching the top rim of the cup. It's a small detail, but one I notice every time. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a cozy and flavorful hot pot experience!

I visited on Monday around lunchtime, and the place got really packed right after opening. If you're coming here, come for the food, not the service. The food was excellent, the Taiwanese spicy beef is always on point and still my favorite dish. The Beef Bento also has a good portion of meat with a decent price. However, the service could use some improvement. The server didn't seem to speak English very well and wasn't very friendly. He placed water with no ice on my table without saying anything, and didn't ask if I wanted ice water or anything else. Ordering was done through a phone scan of the barcode on the table. The wait time for food wasn't too long, and they offer one free iced green tea or black tea with every pot you order. After ordering, the server will ask which tea you prefer. The pot also comes with choices of steam rice / glass noodles. Overall, the food is great, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are affordable. I'll definitely be back.

A few days ago, I passed by Chino and found this place on Yelp -- almost a thousand reviews and 4 stars, so I decided to give it a try. After sitting down, I realized it's run by Taiwanese people. After eating, I knew I'd definitely come back again. The hot pot comes with lots of ingredients, and you can add your favorite extras. Lunch even includes a drink, and there are plenty of tasty night market-style snacks. Left feeling full to the top of my head -- totally satisfied!

What's the red meat inside the hot pot here? Whenever I go here, they have thinly sliced beef that looks a regular brown color, but I find within the broth there's also thinly sliced red meat (cooked not raw). Is that a different cut of beef...?

I believe its a fish cake, or crab stick. Its not a real crab meat tho.

Parking is easy, but reversing is tight. Be careful finding parking and backing out. You have to go up the stairs in order to reach the store. It's not up a whole story, but you do not to go a bit higher than ground level. This store was open since 11 am. Upon coming in, they have Lunar New Year vibes and decor. Instead of ordering with the cashier, I ordered on the kiosk. I had chosen an almond milk tea with boba just to try out. The person making my drink was nice and suggested black tea instead of green tea, which I didn't mine. I received my drink and quickly left to drive back to work. Their almond milk tea is subtle. Much water, less tea, and barely any almond taste. Their boba is chewy like taro or mochi jelly, but bland. Absolutely bland. So bland that I couldn't really fathom finishing my drink. I didn't reach the halfway mark and just tossed the rest. I don't think I will be back. I should have stuck to my choices, because the boba and tea aren't good. Surprisingly when they have such high ratings. I'd rather spend my money on a different boba place.

I felt my stress immediately fade away as this chill, crisp tea carried me along a honeyed, happy adventure. In that moment, I found unadulterated, bottled joy. (Important Note: Cash is not accepted. Bring Card or Contactless Payment. Also, be wary of the sugar levels if sensitive. I selected 30% sugar, and it still fired a welcomed, punchy sugary taste.) I arrived at Chun Yang Tea (Chino) on Tuesday (around 3:21PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE! Chun Yang Tea (Chino) is a stall in the Eat Up Food Court inside the 99 Ranch Store. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers can also order at the counter, but Staff speaks limited English. Staff is very hardworking and professional. My drink took about one minute. FAST!! As mentioned, I absolutely adored the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea ($5.99 - 30% Sugar - Quarter Ice). I had to hold back the instinct to cry tears of joy. The tea flavor is prominent, fresh, and not burnt. The liquid is honey-like, thirst-quenching, and refreshing. I absolutely LOVE this drink. I had to immediately fight back the urge to purchase another. On ambiance, Chun Yang Tea (Chino) surprised me. It's located in a foodcourt, but the location felt clean, well-ventilated, and useful. I saw several flat screen TVs playing the baseball game with English captions. Upbeat, playful music chimed. And there's a Gender Neutral restroom several feet away. In addition, the location is spacious. There's over seven nearby tables. And there's two available electrical outlets nearby the stall. However, if I had to nitpick, there's a very faint scent of the Asian grocery store in the background. It's very faint, but it's noticeable. Overall, I found myself gobsmacked and enthusiastic from my experience at Chun Yang Tea (Chino). The tea is affordable, high-quality, and TASTY! It's one of the best! I walked right inside and noticed they had 5 other food areas, though I don't recall any of them besides the bar. I walked up to the boba shop and there wasn't a cashier, only a kiosk. The bobarista was actually enjoying his meal. He quickly got up to assist me and my order. As I stood around, I watched him make my drink while looking at the decor. He made my drink fairly quickly and I was able to drink it while going grocery shopping. The green tea is decent and the boba had a good chewy consistency and size. The purple rice was very interesting and unique! It was my first time having a topping like it and it's exactly what it sounds like: rice in milk tea. Overall a decent boba spot. I need to come back to try other drinks. Nothing makes it memorable for me just yet, but I'm willing to come back to try it again!
