The signal around this complex is terrible, but they have wifi which is nice! The restaurant is on the smaller side, so when it gets busy, the wait can be a bit. There were two servers when we went + a kitchen staff who would bring the food out. They are all super friendly and check in pretty often, which is nice. I don't think there was ever a time when I was waiting for water or more soup refill because they walk around asking pretty consistently. I got the Tomato Tofu pot, which hits the spot every time. It's not super tomato-y like how it would be from haidilao, but it's still really good and unique. The portion is huge for me with plenty of sliced pork and tofu. Lots of cabbage too. They have a rice or vermicelli side option and I always get the vermicelli lol. I wish it was just slightly more bc sometimes I just really want noodles haha. It drizzled in Ontario today and I instantly craved hot pot. Luckily, this restaurant wasn't too far from us so my friend and I came in right before the dinner rush. We were greeted right away. Came here with my family to try Pot on Fire, and overall it just wasn't for us. Ordering was confusing and complicated, especially for first-timers. Since everything relies on a QR code, the poor reception and weak WiFi made the whole process frustrating from the start. Everything is done through a QR code, and unfortunately the waiter didn't really take the time to explain the process or the menu. If you're not familiar with this style of Asian Fusion/Taiwanese hot pot, you're pretty much left to figure it out on your own. Because of that, service felt bottom-tier. As for the food, it was... interesting. The flavors were very different from your usual hot pot spots. The ingredients felt like a random mix, and the flavor profile is something you're probably not used to. I didn't love it, but I didn't completely hate it either. It's more of an acquired taste. That said, for a set menu with relatively high prices, I don't think it's worth coming back, especially when there are other hot pot places that offer clearer ordering, better service, and more familiar flavors. Our main waiter informed us to their current ongoing promotion ($50 for 2 hotpots, 2 drinks, and 1 appetizer), which we decided to try! He was very accommodating with our substitutions, as we removed some of the seafood items. They also allow you to upgrade the pork to beef for $1.50, which we opted to do. A second waiter helped us when our main waiter was busy- he brought us extra chopsticks, our check, to-go containers. He even offered to bring us extra water or napkins to take home alongside our leftovers. He was very kind and efficient! The beef was high-quality, and it was still super soft and tender while in the broth for the duration of eating (about 30 minutes); it did not get tough or hard-to-chew at all, even the pieces I lost under the rest of the ingredients and didn't eat until the end haha. There's a banner on every table to indicate wanting extra broth, but we didn't need it, as there was plenty to start with. We both had the Korean Kimchi; the soup was perfectly spicy, rich, and satisfying. The hotpots came with plenty of vegetables, meat, tofu, fish cake, etc. They have three sauces to choose from, all of which are delicious and complement the proteins well. Their fries were seasoned so well, but might be slightly on the spicier side as we got the mild but it felt more like a medium (just in case anyone thinking about ordering the fries isn't good with spice) And the milk tea was so good! So I come to this shopping center often for the vita cane or the Thai place, but have been wanting to try pot on fire for a while. I came today, and was blown away by the food, the prices and the service! I ordered the mushroom vegetarian hotpot and iced green tea and they were delicious! Tons of veggies, the glass noodles was amazing - and it was filling without feeling stuffed - and all for $17.95! On top of that, even though they were busy, everyone was so nice! My servers Christian and Jason were so sweet, kept the broth going for me, brought me my check and to go box quickly and made sure I was taken care of at all times - even though it was the lunch rush! I definitely missed this kind of food since we moved out to the inland empire. I love how this place has the authentic flavors of a Taiwanese hot pot. If you enjoy going to boiling point, this is basically the same. We had to order the house special with medium spicy. This was piled high with meat, tofu, veggies, and other hot pot items. The broth had a deep flavor and's the sauces to accompany the food were great! The sesame sauce was unique. The fire did go out but the servers were nice to refill the fire gel and give us more broth. We did feel bad since we came in close to closing time but they were nice to serve us until the end. After this happened, my wife and I genuinely went back over everything and asked ourselves if we had done something wrong or acted unreasonably. If we had been rude, aggressive, or entitled, I would accept responsibility. But that simply wasn't the case. We visited Pot on Fire in Eastvale on New Year's Day around 2 PM. Our first server was kind, professional, and attentive. Unfortunately, once the manager took over our table, the experience changed completely. The first issue was simple: the wrong hot pot was brought to our table. That happens, no big deal. What was upsetting was how the manager handled it. Instead of apologizing, he blamed us and said something like, "That's why we usually say the name of the hot pot," in a condescending tone, as if we had done something wrong for not catching their mistake. Later, when we calmly asked about our missing drinks and appetizer, the manager became defensive rather than helpful. At that point, the situation escalated very quickly and unnecessarily. He spoke to us in a demeaning and intimidating way and used phrases like, "You need to pay now or get out," followed by "I don't need your money," "you're permanently banned," and "get out of my restaurant." He also threatened to call the police. We were still in the middle of eating and repeatedly tried to pay for the food we had already eaten. He refused to accept payment and forced us out. To add context, the manager did in fact call the police. We later received a follow-up call from an officer, explained what had happened, and were told this was a customer service issue and that no further action was needed, especially since our attempts to pay were declined. Involving law enforcement in this situation felt completely unnecessary and frightening. This wasn't about a wrong order or slow service. Those things happen. What doesn't happen, or shouldn't, is being treated with contempt, intimidation, and humiliation for calmly raising a concern. What made this especially disturbing is that this behavior came from a manager, someone entrusted with authority and leadership. After this incident, I took the time to read other public reviews for this location. What concerned me was seeing multiple reviewers, across different dates, describe very similar experiences involving dismissive, disrespectful, or demeaning interactions with a manager or server. That suggests this may not be an isolated incident, but part of a broader pattern that deserves serious attention. After the incident, the owner did reach out and took the time to listen, which I appreciate. He acknowledged the situation and said he would address it. I also want to be clear that our original server was not the issue. I'm sharing this so others are aware. Most people go out to eat to enjoy a meal, not to leave feeling shaken, humiliated, or threatened simply for speaking up respectfully. It was more like Face On Fire. Although I appreciate the abundance of flame to the pot, every time I would grab food from the pot, the flames would fly up to my face almost scorching my face. They must have ran out of pots as the other pots were much larger in width. My pot was smaller. They should not be using the smaller pot as flames to a customer's face screams potential lawsuit. They have some vegetarian options but most have pork. The pot comes really hot and if too hot, you can ask for the fire to be turned off. My husband and I dined here on New Year's Day and had an unbelievably bad experience, primarily due to the manager's behavior. We were likely the first table seated. We ordered two hot pots, two drinks, and popcorn chicken. Tables that arrived after us received their food before we did. Our original server went on break mid-service, and the manager (Elias / Eli) took over. He brought one correct hot pot, then delivered the second incorrectly. When he realized the mistake, instead of apologizing, he made a sarcastic remark with attitude about how they "say the name of the dish when setting it down" and walked away. Meanwhile, we still had not received our drinks or popcorn chicken. When we politely asked about the appetizer--after another table received theirs--we were told, rudely, "They ordered before you." At no point were we upset or confrontational; we were simply asking. Over 10-15 minutes into our meal, the popcorn chicken still hadn't arrived. We were repeatedly given excuses (short-staffed, other tables ordered first), but never an apology. When we finally asked to cancel the appetizer, someone attempted to bring it anyway, and the manager told us we could keep it only if we paid for it, despite the delay and cancellation. When we expressed disappointment with the service, the manager became increasingly hostile. Without us raising our voices or using any inappropriate language, he told us to either pay immediately or leave--even though we were still eating. When I said I was still finishing my meal, he threatened to call the police and then actually did. After we finished eating and went to pay, we were told we could no longer pay because the police had been called. The food itself was mediocre at best (kimchi pork hot pot was bad; sukiyaki was just okay), but the service--especially from the manager--was completely unacceptable. Pot on Fire has definitely become our go to spot and we come like every 2-3 weeks now. It's super comparable to Boiling Point and maybe even better. I even brought my friends from SGV to try it, and they actually thought it was better than BP!!! The service is always on point and the food is really tasty. Taiwanese spicy always hits the spot. The white guy and the Filipino guy who work there are always super friendly.The $50 deal for 2 pots, drinks, and an appetizer is totally worth it. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of this one annoying thing. After coming here for MONTHS, I just found out they have a punch card system! Like no one ever told us. I asked about it yesterday and this Asian guy was like, "Oh we don't have any more cards, just ask next time." So now the 3 pots we ordered yesterday didn't even count. Honestly kinda disappointing, especially since we've spent a lot of money here already. I still love supporting local businesses and we'll probably still come back, but yeah... that left a bit of a sour taste. read more
