Had a kids bites meal. Ordered an unsweet tea but got sweet. The bites lack in flavor and just taste like flour. The mashed potatoes were lumpy like the flakes didn't completely dissolve. I don't have a problem with the food here, I have a problem with the staff! Went to the drive thru, got to the pay window and was told they can't accept tap, card only. Ok, no problem, told them I'll just move the money to a card I had available. Real simple solution. As soon as I hit the transfer button, I'm told I can come inside and pay tap. I explain I just moved the money to the card give it a moment. Another person, NOT working the window decides she needs to chime in on the time it's taking me to pay with an attitude, Ewe . Whoa girl, because that's what you're grown self was giving, it's Not my fault the taps not working and now I've moved my money to a card to pay. So I'm told again I can come inside and tap....... It's too late the money is already moving. ALSO, I'm not required to move and come inside when I chose to use the drive thru to AVOID going inside. Maybe if I was told at the ordering window that I couldn't pay tap, I would have been better prepared. Hell, maybe the tap stopped working after I ordered, but to give me crap for moving the money so I could pay WITH CARD as I was told, didn't require any sass. Oh my god. Sweet jesus this tastes like a marriage between KFC and Popeyes chicken. I'm a Popeyes fan, but I was in the area and had to try the different friend chickens. For $2.79 I got a biscuit and drumstick. I asked for the drumstick since I was due to eat lunch in a little bit. The breading reminded me of KFC and the seasoning had a slight kick which reminded me of Popeyes. The biscuit... oh well it was soooo buttery. I want to eat 10 more of those. This restaurant is perfectly able to open its dining room. They choose not to. They use Covid, or whatever excuse, to keep their dining room closed. It is an excuse to offer less for the same price. That's how they see us. I don't see the value in waiting in A drive through line when there are better brands with better products that are willing to offer more. The truth is drive through customers are much more profitable than dine in customers. They use Covid, or whatever, as an excuse to upgrade their profits. If they're telling you they are doing this for your safety, it is simply not true. Don't drink the Kool-Aid. I'm not going there until they open their dining room again, maybe never. Bojangles has the worst coffee cups, that leak at the top, and make this awful brown coffee stain on the rim. So I asked for a styrofoam cup in the drive thru. The lady says, "It comes in a styrofoam cup." So I assume, "Perfect, someone made some changes." I get to the window, and nope - still this cheap paper cup." So she says, "I have to pay for a styrofoam cup. $2.37. So I said "Since you're charging me that much for just a cup, you can put something in it. I will take a tea. Fast food fried chicken. About the same quality as a KFC. The chicken is battered and fried, but at least the biscuits are made fresh every hour or so. Its a southern chain (I live in Hartford CT and havent seen one here in the north) but they are popular fare for football games, picnics, etc. Honestly, there are a lot worse options for fast food, because at least here you know you are getting chicken (as opposed to pressed chicken patty), but you are better off getting a rotisserie chicken from a grocery store. read more

My order has always been correct and the person in the drive through has always been nice and patient. So, I was gonna let this Bojangle's slide for this stunt they pulled the other day, but I had such a poor experience at the one on E. Woodlawn that I got RE-PISSED and had to come here and tell y'all about my experience. For some reason, I was compelled to leave an extra 30 minutes early and after this trash experience, I know that the Lord was making an example out of every Bible verse that speaks on PATIENCE! I order my food (4pc Chicken Supremes, large fry, bottled water, and a BoBerry). So I get to the window and the cashier says that we're only waiting on my BoBerry biscuit and that I'd have to wait FOUR MINUTES! FOUR! So I pull up and turn on The Read (shoutout to Kid Fury & Crissle). I knew something was up because Crissle got through two listener letters and I was still hungry. I look up and 10 MINUTES has gone by. Not a fry in sight. No chicken. Not even a napkin. At this point, I'm gonna need something on the gas I'm wasting, while waiting!!! So... I get out of my car, walk inside, and let them know I'm waiting on my food. Remember, I'm waiting on ONE BOBERRY! After 5 more minutes, Someone, who I'm assuming was the shift manager walks in and I let her know I'm waiting. She gives me the hospitable "baby, it'll be out in one moment." After 5 more minutes, someone else boxes the chicken, fries, and BoBerry together and hands them to me. I go back to my car, look in the box and what I saw in that box was the most disrespectful sight. Y'all... my chicken supremes looked like a rabid dog had mangled them. Instead of 4 chicken supremes, there were 8-10 attempts at Chicken Supremes, but were actually shredded chicken nuggets. Fries were so limp, they needed viagra and to top it all off, THERE WAS NO BISCUIT AND NO DRINK!!! I paid $9, waited about 20 minutes for my "fast" food and got nothing, but a failed commitment to good service and a bunch of broken promithes, promithes (shoutout to 3LW). Only reason they're even getting a half a star is because that BoBerry was BoBangin' and the shift manager seemed sweet. She reminded me of that aunt that drinks Pepsi and smokes Newport 100s, but can also cook some amazing greens! If you're reading this, Auntie, you're invited to my house on Thanksgiving, BUT DON'T YOU DARE walk up in here with anything out of that ratchet chicken coop y'all call Bojangles. NOTE: If your customers have waited longer than 15-20 minutes on a simple order, they deserve something complimentary for waiting because it is a what?! AN INCONVENIENCE! I think the chicken tasted way better than KFC but fell short of Popeyes or Church's--still a worthy contender. Unfortunately all of my sides were cold: seasoned fries, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and dirty rice. It's hard to give a place a fair shake when the food is about as cold as you having left it out on the counter overnight. I generally am not bothered by slower service when things are busy but I'm one of three bodies in the store--how long does it take for me to awkwardly stand there to ask for hot sauce before getting noticed by staff chatting it up in the kitchen even though they dead ass look at me in the eyes while I ask "excuse me" over and over in vain? I love Bojangles! I'm from up North and we don't have a Bojangles in IL. I've heard how good it is and had to try it out. I'm a fan! This is my second time coming to Bojangles. This location is right up the road from my house. Dangerous for me. Good business for them. I like their iced tea, chicken supreme, dirty rice, biscuit, and fries. I ordered a Kids Meal - Supremes with extra season on my fries with honey mustard. Once I received my order and drove off, I realized that my order was not correct. My French fries tasted like they have been sitting there for a while, no season on them, and no honey mustard. Went inside the restaurant to get fresh French fries with season and a honey mustard. Once I got home, I realized that my tenders were very dry and not hot at all. They tasted like they had been sitting there for a while. I arrived to Charlotte on a Monday evening and figured that I would stop by a brewery before heading to my hotel to grab a bite to eat and a beer, however their food truck wasn't operating that night. So I had to find something quick on my way to the hotel and the sign for chicken and biscuits sounded too good, so I figured that a stop was in order. I decided to just use the drive thru and ended up going with a 4 piece home-style combo, much to my disappointment when I got to the hotel I discovered that they failed to include a biscuit. The chicken itself was poor quality, even for fast food standards, it was dry and really lacked any taste. I will say that my Mac & cheese side was probably the only good part of the meal, and that really isnt saying all that much. The coffee is always hot and delicious, which is tops in my book... Sometimes I just need a jolt to get me to the office! They were we're moving a bit slow, but I was patient because I'm thinking FRESH CHICKEN, right? WRONG! Paid for my food drove 5 minutes to my house and on my way home I should've suspected something because the food wasn't smelling off like normally when it's fresh! This was my first time at this location that's not far from where I recently moved. Get home the family is excited, start spreading the food out on the table, open the boxes, and it was BLAH! Cold sides, old biscuits, and crusty, cold, and old chicken where the skin was kind of white instead of the gold look! I swear I wanted to cry! Waited in line for 12 minutes and paid $25 for what? Everyone loves a good Bojangles every now and then. As I was driving home today I thought I'd go through the drive through as I haven't been in at least over a year. Man was I sorely disappointed!! I got the supremes combo. The girl who took my order and gave me my food was really nice however when I got home I discovered that the dirty rice I ordered was green beans and my chicken was over cooked! I also ordered unsweet tea and while it's unsweet it tastes off. There's a hint of sugar in there as well as a bit of old tea taste. I probably could have overlooked a lot except I was really looking forward to that dirty rice. This was a total cheat meal I was looking forward to, but it ended up just being a let down. From the days when i use to live across the street from it and the aroma had you floating in at least one a week, to my riding past it a few moments ago and the marvelous aromas of freshly fried chicken gently but firmly lured you within, capturing you with its taste.
