Food took a while to be ready and was still not warm. On top of that, there were multiple hairs in each of our meals. Don't recommend.

The food is made fresh and the wait time is not ridiculous. The atmosphere is nice and clean and very welcoming. I ordered the ranch wings basket with macaroni and cheese, and the philly cheesesteak eggroll since they're famous for their eggrolls. The macaroni and cheese was really good. I love that it was flavorful and cheesy, and the noodles were not overcooked. The cut wings were big and dusted with ranch seasoning. They were good, but I have a thing about big wings. The philly eggroll was so flavorful and really good. It's served hot so be careful. The portions are decent as well, especially for the eggrolls. I also ordered a lemonade because I think those are popular as well. They have a variety of flavors that you can add to the lemonade. I chose watermelon and it was absolutely delicious. If I'm back in the area, I may try something different. I overheard others ordering the oxtails so they are probably good and I would be interested in trying them.

The place is a large wooden building that resembles something that would have been built in the 1870's. There are a few bench's and chairs on the front porch to relax in after eating or if you need to wait for a table. They have a general store with some interesting items as well. Schuler's is a buffet style barbecue and all you can eat. Their pulled pork is their best meat. I wasn't really impressed with their ribs though. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good. Not my favorite barbecue in the area but it's cool place with great people.

The staff was very friendly, the service was good...I had takeout but the restaurant is a buffet inside. It clearly is a place the locals enjoy and it is an easy stop if you are on the way to the beach. All in all, my favorite was actually the hot dog. The chili was excellent and the slaw had just a touch of sweetness. The BBQ was well prepared, just not my favorite style or taste profile...a bit too much twang. I would recommend Shuler's if you are in the area and look forward to trying other items the next time I return.

They had rice, Brunswick stew, peas, collard greens, bread stuffing, sweet potatoes, baked chicken, fried chicken, breaded pork chops, macaroni and cheese, and fried pork rinds. Corn bread, and slices of cake ( red velvet, carrot, lemon, chocolate , are in a separate area.) I had a piece of the baked and the fried chicken. Both were salty, dried out tough, even though the place only opened 40 minutes before I got there. I liked the cornbread and the sweet potato. I chose this place based on its high yelp rating , leaving the interstate . It's the first time yelp failed me.

Found this on Yelp as I was searching this morning for a spot to stop for lunch on our way home…read more It is a quick two miles off of I-95. It was fast, good, and easy (not to mention inexpensive). Stay focused... I am talking about lunch. When you arrive, the parking lot might be full (it was when we arrived), almost always a good sign. You can grab a spot on the street or behind the now mostly defunct main street. When you walk in, you glove up and start serving yourself from the buffet. Someone will take your drink order (ours was taken as we were going through the line), then find a seat. I didn't know what fatback was, but I had already Googled it before we arrived, so I easily identified it. After one bite, I decided my dentist might become richer if I continued to try to chew it. The fried chicken was good but a bit salty. The fried pork chop was good as well, but I would have mistaken it for fried fish if I hadn't read the menu. Smoked sauage, yum. The biscuits looked good, but I took (and ate) the cornbread but would not have known what it was if I didn't have the cheat sheet. The salad bar was primarily lettuce. They had a few salad toppings, but the tongs were short and difficult to use. I suspect most people do not come here for salad. Oh, did I mention dessert? Huge cinnamon rolls and something chocolate with pudding and cookies. It fit the bill for what we were looking for.. a quick, inexpensive sit-down lunch.

Southern Fried Restaurant & Catering - I guess this is why most of these places are condemned. It was sad to see what was clearly once a vibrant little town.
