Katsubō absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the experience was perfect, but the…read morereal star was the food (and Damian- shoutout to an amazing server!). We ordered two bowls of the Tokyo Shoyu ramen with chicken chashu, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the most incredible thing we've ever eaten. The soy sauce-seasoned broth was deeply flavorful without being heavy, the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, and every single topping worked together beautifully, menma, spinach, nori, scallions, and narutomaki all added their own little moment. It was balanced, comforting, and somehow still exciting with every bite. You know a place is special when you're already planning your next visit before you're done eating... that was us. Huge thanks to Damien for making the experience even better. Katsubō is officially a must-visit, and we'll be back again and again.

Excellent addition to the Park Circle area with good service and great food!…read more The restaurant is on the smaller, intimate side so definitely make a reservation. They had some specials as well, so plan on taking that into consideration. The menu does have a nice variety and options for pork and chicken. They also have fun cocktails and a good beer/wine menu. We ordered the ribs (special) curry pork katsu, gyoza, and Tokyo Shoyu. Family style sharing is encouraged and the food came out when it was ready. Everything was super flavorful and good portion sizes. The cocktails we ordered were pretty good, but didn't blow us away like the food did. The food is very reasonably priced as well and the service was quick. Great spot to try in PC!

This was a whole experience. We were in Charleston Saturday night through Wednesday afternoon and…read moreBertha's is only open Wednesday through Saturday til 5pm. So we took an Uber there on our way to the airport, luggage and backpacks and all. The line was to the door. Most people get their food to go but there are a handful of tables in the dining room. We parked ourselves and our bags at one by the front wall and settled in for our fried porkchops and fried chicken, lima beans, cabbage, red rice, mac and cheese, and corn bread. And while we waited for our food, one of the kitchen staff walked around passing out free frozen punch. It was good! This was the perfect choice for our last meal in Charleston. We were in and out in 45 minutes, full and satisfied. The only thing is we are still confused about pricing. We think there was an error because somehow we paid $29 for one meal and $19 for the other. Can't be right...but we didn't have time to sort all that out. Pay it forward.

You order, they plate it, you pay and either take it to go or to sit in the small dining area. Service is very quick and efficient, and you can tell there are a lot of regulars who come here because the staff joked and laughed with them as they waited in line. Speaking of the line, it moved fast but while we were there a woman came around with a tray and offered little cups of brightly colored something. I chose red and was delighted to see it was a frozen punch, red is cherry. My friend got orange and he said it was like a mango or peach flavor. I ordered the fried chicken, with cabbage and red rice. The cabbage was absolute fire, it was so tender and delicious. The red rice was good, but a bit on the dry side. I feel like had I been there when a fresh pan was brought out it would have been a lot better. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked and had a flaky crust but it needed salt and the tables did not provide any. I would come back, there are so many other things I would love to try and this place is busy for a reason.

It was so good I had to go back! The Brunch bowl is what I order both times ( I wish I tried something else) and the "grit balls" were delicious. Service was fast and prompt even with a full house. And the woman at the counter (she was in the kitchen and ran food, greeted guests as they pick up their food, possibly a chef) was EXTREMELY nice and outgoing. She seemed to really enjoy her position and kept order in the kitchen. Food was delicious if I haven't already said so, so much flavor, a Carolina quality kinda spot! I highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional, yet casual place to dine. Thank you Grit Counter!

The parking lot was packed, and most tables were already taken when we walked in, which is always a good sign. You order at the counter and then grab a seat while they bring the food out to you. The menu is extensive, with plenty of dishes built around grits (as the name suggests). I went with the chicken and waffles, and it was loaded with flavor--crispy fried chicken breasts, a Belgian waffle, chunks of bacon, and a blueberry compote on the side. The whole plate was enormous; I definitely didn't finish it. My husband ordered the fried chicken and fish platter with French fries, and it was equally generous in size. We also started with the grit fritters as an appetizer, and they were fantastic--crispy on the outside and a nice surprise inside. Overall, the food was really on point with big, satisfying portions. The waitstaff seemed super busy but stayed friendly and attentive. The only downside for me was having to bus your own table at the end. Prices for lunch felt a little high at first glance, but when you consider the huge portions, they're pretty reasonable. We'll definitely be heading back soon.

We were actually asked if we would be willing to sit at a table with others. We did not mind. Unfortunately they were out of shrimp and catfish and my wife was wanting shrimp and grits. Our son ordered the Hog Dog, (hot dog with pulled pork) my wife ordered the Fat Boy burger, and I ordered the country fried steak. Their order came with fries and I ordered mashed potatoes and coleslaw with my dinner. Hush puppies and a corn muffin came with my meal. It took about 25-30 minutes for our meal to arrive. My dinner was delicious. Country fried steak was tender and crispy. Mashed potatoes had chunks which I like, the coleslaw was creamy with great taste, hush puppies were fantastic, and the only disappointment was the corn muffin was not warm. My wife loved her burger. Our son enjoyed the hog dog. Service was adequate. For me considering that the food was cooked to,order, I was quite satisfied with the service and the food.

I don't recall the Mt P one having lomo saltado or empanadas so I'm looking forward to trying more of the espansive menu here. I will say the only thing that bothered me was that the menu inside was on rotating screens. They took forever to go to the next screen so we used the QR code to look at the menu online. After we placed out order, I noticed that there were options on the menu screen that were not listed online and I maybe would have tried one of those options. Not a big deal, but definitely an annoyance when the menus don't match. For entrees we got the mostrito which offers so much food. You get a 1/4 chicken, fried rice, fries, and coleslaw. My entree was Arroz Chaufa with chicken which is less of a diverse dish being that it's all the same, but it's so good. I got mine with chicken in it and added some sauces because I love both of them. The spicy one is best but they are both delicious. It was a huge portion so I managed to save some of it for later and it heated up great too.
