    Summer Girl cocktail.

Bok Bar is a cool and relaxed rooftop terrace with the most gorgeous panoramic skyline view of Philadelphia. Upon entering, you get your ID checked and walk down the hallways of what was once a school. It's so fun how they have a chalkboard with a word of the day with such fun school vibes. Once you take the elevator up to the rooftop, you are welcomed to the view right away. There is a bar on each side with pop-up food vendors too. My friends and I got a cocktail and then enjoyed the view while sipping on our drinks. I had the Summer Girl ($13), which was decent. The drinks are served in plastic cups and weren't too special. I'd probably stick to beer or wine as the cocktails weren't anything special. While the drinks were ok, the view and vibes are absolutely worth coming for! Even the restrooms are from the school, where the dividers are so low that you can see your head popping out when you're standing. Everyone is respectful, but it's pretty funny seeing how short the restroom doors are.

It took me almost two years living in Philadelphia to finally make it to Bok Bar and I'm so glad I did! Set atop an old vocational high school, this hella cool rooftop terrace offers a full bar, tasty snacks, great views and very cool vibes! The expansive space, atop the Bok Building in South Philly, is the perfect place to spend a relaxing Saturday afternoon taking in the Philly skyline while enjoying yummy (and pricey!) libations with friends. I especially loved the decor, replete with vintage classroom furniture and beautiful flowers. From what I saw on their calendar, there's lots going on at Bok Bar in the evenings. such as drag shows, salsa dancing, yoga classes, and more, They open at 2 pm on Saturdays for a more relaxed vibe, and now I've got a new gem to bring my guests to when they come to Philly. Check out the pictures and you'll see what I mean. Then go and check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Mesmerizing views overlooking Center City and South Jersey! Bok Roof Bar is located on top of an old Vocational School. Best Sunset view you just want to stand there and absorb the moment. Pleasantly surprised how an old school building from the 1930's was converted into a Roof Top Bar. Drinks are served in plastic cups most likely to avoid glasses falling off the Roof Top. For food I only tried sweet potato fries and chocolate cake for dessert. Food is ordered at the bar area. It took about 20 minutes to get the fries and cake. I will definitely recommend Bok Bar for the stunning sunset views and ambience.

I did not have food but noticed a newer menu with more food options. Cody was very kind. Security check and escorted to elevator. Sunday is Family Day. Chill music vibe: 70's - 80's The calm after the storm with a nice breeze and sunset.

Impeccable views and vibes, kind bar staff, novelty. What more can you want in your night out? Basic cocktails are served in plasticware and there's a rotating food partner in the small kitchen behind the bar. No table service, and there's a fairly clear process to getting on up to the roof. I cannot wait to check out Irwin's at some point in the near future as well. My cocktail was good but a little steep for what it was. I would go with wine or beer on my next visit! Bring your friends, bring your dog - this would be a fab spot for a party or group gathering. Looking forward to many future trips!

This was such a cool bar! I love the views of the skyline and I've never been to a bar inside of a school before. The drinks were fine, it was basically dive bar cocktails but not dive bar prices. You're paying for the novelty and views

I went to Bok Bar for a packed Making Time event on 4 July, and even at full capacity, it was 100% worth it. The rooftop views are iconic, the energy was high, and the space somehow never felt overwhelming. A big highlight was the food partner during our visit -- Gabriella's Vietnam (July 2-27). Chef Thanh Nguyen, recently named a "Rising Star Chef" by Craig Laban, brought seriously authentic Vietnamese street food vibes to the rooftop. We had the BBQ chicken with chips and the shrimp salad -- both fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a hot summer day. The mocktails and canned spirits hit the spot too. Between the skyline, the music, and the food, it was a total Philly summer moment -- and one I'd gladly repeat.

great rooftop bar-- just hold onto your drinks because even a filled plastic cup will get knocked over if winds are strong-- speaking from experience (': the never try never know cocktail was the perfect blend of warm spice and lime!

PHILADELPHIA, PA: we found the coolest dog friendly spot in the city, Bok Bar, a rooftop bar with stunning views of downtown Philly and awesome sunsets. Located in a former school from the 1930's, it is interesting to see an old building transformed into a community space featuring Bok Bar! Located on the 8th floor, the outdoor bar has cocktails, beer, wine, and zero proof options. They also have food partners that vary throughout the year, so check their website to plan your visit. This place is popular and it gets crowded so make sure your dog can handle a party-like environment. You have to take an elevator (stairs are also an option) to get up to the 8th floor, so your dog will be in a tight space with other people. There is seating, but be prepared to stand as it fills up quickly. This place is fantastic to see the sun set over the city and just have a unique experience with your pup. Bok Bar is a seasonal space that opens from April and closes in November. The last day for 2024 is November 3rd. Admission is free!

Great vibes, chill. Drink line moves pretty quick. I'd pass on the cocktails. Isn't worth the price in my opinion, maybe I got unlucky but it was practically just juice no alcohol and tiny. Lots of seating but also lots of people so you just have to hope for the best. Lots of standing room though. Family friendly? Some people brought their kids. Also dog friendly.

The views are amazing, especially when the sun is setting. Went to meet with friends for a Sunday Funday. First time going, and it was a cool experience. Drinks were 13.00 for prefixed drinks. No liquor on site. Note- Pregame before you go. Bar tenders were efficient, and the lines moved quickly. Pretty large crowd on a Sunday afternoon/ evening. Vibes were cool, and music was on point. Very nice scene. Jezabel's was there as a vendor, and the Empanadas were amazing. I think the food vendors change. She mentioned this was their last weekend there at Bok Bar.

My boyfriend and I's favorite spot. The rotating food is always a fun experience, and the staff are always kind. The views of the city are top notch, and the entire rooftop is decorated very nicely. Highly recommend!!

Super chill & cool place to hang out for evening with some friends & catch a view of the Philly skyline in the background. We went there w/ a big group after a storm came thru & it was super windy but there was still a bit of a sunset to be seen. I just got a pineapple cider which didnt have much pineapple flavor to it & ate a corn & cheese empanada (currently Venezualean food being offered). The empanada wasn't bad but not enuff flavor for me to go rushing back to. The view is nice. If you look directly out around the bar (former school), all you see are lights & the tops of residential buildings in South Philly. NOthing really great but in the far distance, you can see Center City & University City & all of the skyscrapers downtown & it is a sight to see. Other than that, Bok doens't really stand out much from anything else. The music isn't loud so you cant hear it all over. Decent amount of chairs & tables but I can only imagine when it's fully packed @ the peak of the summer. We drove out there & luckily we found a spot right out front by the door but the only other sensible way would be to get a ride there b/c you are taking your chances trying to find street parking. I will say that it is nice venue for having private events. Personally, the place w/ the best view of the city is Cira Green. I wont go rushing out here b/c of the parking sitch & it doens't have anything else additional other than the venue to offer. Always great to check out @ least 1x!

The bar is split with the restaurant half (though I think technically combined?) and I can absolutely see this place being PACKED for an Eagles game. Very reasonable pricing for beer. The service was superb. We happened to be there when AirBNB was there to take pictures and we requested not to be part of the photos. Not only were they super nice about it, they actually gave us free drinks for the "inconvenience" of having to move bars. And the vibe overall is great, very laid back but with tons of TVs bound to have whatever game you want to watch on. If you live in the neighborhood, this could easily be a go-to spot.

I especially like it here on a Monday's when they have a 1/2 off growlers. There's indoor out and outdoor seating you can also get specialty beers to go from the case and there's so much to choose from. I generally sit at the bar inside to get myself a couple samples of the new beers on tap just to help make a decision on what I'd like to take home. The staff is helpful, very efficient and friendly. The place is very clean well lit. Parking may be at a premium on certain days. What kept me from giving this business five stars is how food is ordered. I knew that they sold hotdogs because they're right on the counter next to the draft beer but I mentioned I needed a little more sustenance. ' we have a food menu you can order food' it was with other items next to the register. I had no idea it was food from across the street and it caused two different tabs. I should've been told is an advance in the end it was fine the pizza was good as was the beer but I would have preferred a heads up. If you use a credit card there is a $10 minimum if you get eight dollars worth of beer like I did it may have been a problem because I couldn't use my card for lack of cash! The items together were $24. When closing out trying to get to my movie the restaurant took an extended period of time bringing me my card back.

I do think if I went on a day where it was packed, I would not have enjoyed it as much. The racing simulators are pretty cool! As your driving/racing you have to pay attention to the guides on the floor in colors red, green & yellow signifying you to slow down on certain curves and turns on the different tracks. When you pay for a race, five rounds of racing is included. You can pick your level of difficulty for each round. I went with "rookie" for all of my five rounds and each track was different. It was neat not knowing what to expect each time you began and it was cool to know you could enjoy it even at the most basic level, which is rookie. I have gone through many iterations of my relationship with being a fan of sports teams…read more Younger me's whole personality was based around Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, Angels Baseball, and USC football. I vividly remember after the Lakers game 7 Championship win against the Celtics in 2010, 14 year old me who had just wrapped up the 8th grade, had a major realization. After a night of pure exaltation and chirping all my friends who were Celtics fans, I woke up the next day and realized my life had not changed AT ALL. I had a metamorphosis of sorts, realizing that I should put all of this time, energy, and passion into myself rather than being fans of players and teams who didn't know I existed. While I remained a fan, it was never the same. I stopped wearing my Kobe jerseys everywhere I went. I began to look at grown men walking around wearing other grown mens jerseys like they were DORKS. Don't you want to do something impactful with your life to where people would want to wear your jersey? Or wear your own, at least in a metaphorical sense? Idk. In retrospect, I became a little asshole lmao. --I promise The Garage will tie in here in a second stay with me I love this place-- It wasn't until I went to Europe on a school trip towards the end of High School when my 2nd metamorphosis began. I was OBSESSED with everything about European culture, thinking how fascinating it was that people live so differently than myself, but it's just normal life to them. My American ignorance led me to believe that everyone lived like I did, had the same interests I did. Idk, it blew my mind and I just couldn't get enough. I thought it was SO cool how passionate the Europeans were about their soccer, not realizing how contradictory this was to my own beliefs about American sports fans. I even bought a Messi Jersey and allat! It wasn't until years and years later, when I really put it together. These European Football fans were essentially paralleled to American Football fans. Both getting SO invested in these games, SCREAMING at the screen between sips of beer at a local bar like that will have any effect on the outcome of the game lmao. The older I have gotten, the more I have begun to respect the passionate sports fan, no matter what sport it is. Even if, for me personally, this passion is better to be placed somewhere else, I respect and love to be around passionate people no matter where that passion is placed. Who am I to tell someone what to be passionate about? I have gone through this life meeting people who are passionate about literally nothing, just kind of numb to life and that makes me sad and just scares me. How could you be numb to life? It's such a beautiful gift tha---okay I'm getting way too existential, let me reign it in. All this to say, I watched game 1 of the NLDS here where the Phillies were playing the Braves the other night. I feel like the reputation of the Philly sports fan is the best we have in America, and they did NOT disappoint. They were going BRAAAZYYYYYY in here lmaaaoo. Every base hit felt like a homerun, every home run felt like they had just won the mf powerball. For every single out they were counting down for how many more they needed to win. "ONLY 18 MORE WE GOT THIS!" lmao. The passion was tangible and beautiful. There was a guy slanging $4 hotdogs that were delicious, 100% pure American beef (allegedly). The bartenders were LOCKED IN, getting people drinks quick and moving onto the next. This was one of the best, most efficient bartending performances I have ever seen. Almost as efficient as a Philadelphia Eagles QB sneak. Almost. You can also bring outside food which is IDEAL, as I saw some people walking in with a couple pizzas. That's a vet move, I'll be ready next time. Also, get the grape funbag for a drink if you're feeling adventurous. Well even if you're not feeling adventurous get the grape funbag. Have I ever lied to you, my dear reader? All in all, I can't imagine a better place to watch a game. I love The Garage and I love the city of Philadelphia.
