This will be simple and sweet as it was a shorter visit. It my friend that was in town visiting from Miami decided to continue our outing at A Loft's WXYZ Bar. Now I'm not that big of a drinker but I won't turn down a good Cosmo. Again, I know how to make cocktails so I'm pretty picky. The one I ordered was a bit on the limey side and I didn't finish the whole thing but it made for a nice way to end the evening. Besides getting to hang out with my friend and lounging back and sipping on a cocktail, what I thought was so cool was thee coolest part of the place, were the board games in the back corner tucked away. I wish we had seen them earlier because I totally would have played UNO or Connect 4 if they had it. I saw playing cards and Monopoly and Battleship but I loved how they had it in the bar area. I think as adults we lose that child like innocence and I do my best to retain it, but this lounge was casual and relaxing. The bartender was also very nice and apparently it was his first day at that location as he transferred from another one to help out for the week. He was very friendly and made sure that we enjoyed our cocktails. I've been to this same bar while staying at the A Loft back home in Coral Gables so I was the one who recommended it to my friend who was staying there at the one here in Philly. I also saw they had a fun outdoor seating area with these giant neon lights and trendy patio furniture but it was closed so we stayed inside and sat at this half circular booth. I would have loved to try a small bite to eat but the kitchen was closed at the time we went but what I wanted was more so like a dessert. They had a snack area where you could buy some treats or other convenient items, but I passed on that. I settled on my drink and that was that. I would most definitely be back, but next time around, I would bring out a board game to add to the fun:)

Horrible service, the bartender didn't know how to make any of the drinks and he had to read step by step what to do. Also complained that we ordered two drinks off the menu instead of ordering something straight. On top of that he had his friends come in and just chatted with them loudly and told them not to order food off the menu as it was nothing special...and I was going to order something but just wanted to get the heck out of there

    Great soaring architecturally interesting space

Aloft does it right with the little bars. They seem to hire cool bartenders. There is never a lack of good Intercourse

Stayed at the hotel. The ladies working at the bar went above and beyond. Korean wings were delicious. Would recommend.

This was a great hotel bar. The food and drinks were good, the bartenders affable. Great place to unwind after a day in the city.

I sent an email with questions about our reservation and never received a response. The online booking portal doesn't provide much detail, and while the website has a "Call" option, it wasn't very useful. I received multiple automated reminder emails stressing that we needed to arrive 15 minutes early because race times wouldn't be extended for late arrivals, which is completely understandable. I just wish there had been the same level of attention when it came to responding to customer questions. Once we arrived, the experience was much better. They gave our group a private seating area, which was a nice surprise. Our server was friendly, checked on us periodically, and never pressured us to order food. We chose to have drinks only, and it was nice to relax before and after racing. The simulators were a lot of fun, and everyone in our group enjoyed the experience. The only thing to know is that the races move quickly--you only have about two minutes between sessions to switch drivers, so there's not much time to explore the venue or step away without paying attention to when you're up next. Overall, it was a fun and unique way to celebrate a birthday. We'd definitely come back, although probably as a special once-a-year outing because of the cost. If F1 Arcade improved its communication before events, this easily could have been a five-star experience.

Fun experience, but definitely on the pricey side for the amount of actual racing you get…read more F1 Arcade is a pretty cool F1 racing simulation where you get to drive an F1-style race car on various real F1 tracks. The simulators do a good job of making you feel like you're actually racing--the seat moves and rumbles as you go around the track, accelerate, brake, and presumably make questionable racing decisions. One warning: if you get motion sickness easily, this might not be the activity for you. Between the moving seat and the racing visuals, your brain may start wondering why your body is sitting still while your car is doing 200 mph. The place itself is huge, with 40+ simulators. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were surprised by how empty it was. They also have a bar and serve food, but we were there strictly for the racing. We had a party of 4, so we did the team racing option and were given two simulators. Each of us got three races, and the system paired us up differently for each race, so everyone got a chance to race against everyone else. That part was actually pretty fun and made it feel more competitive. The downside is that the races are REALLY short--about 3 minutes each. So for roughly $30 per person, we each got only about 10 minutes of actual racing time across the three races. Once you factor in getting everyone set up and waiting between races, our entire visit was under an hour. The staff was friendly and did a good job explaining how the simulators work and how to check when your next race was starting, so the whole process was pretty easy. Overall, this was a fun experience, especially if you're an F1 fan or enjoy racing games. The simulators are definitely more immersive than playing a racing game at home. That said, the price is hard to overlook considering how little actual driving time you get. We had a good time, but at around $30 per person for about 10 minutes of racing, this is probably a "do it once for the experience" kind of activity rather than something we'd do regularly.

We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. The lobster ravioli was 50/50 for me personally, while the lobster was cooked well and the sauce flavorful, the only lobster was what was topped on the ravioli and not actually stuffed in with the cheese like I was expecting. It was still good, just not as "lobster ravioli" as Im used to. The pizza is a very thin crust but they did a wonderful job of not burning the crust despite this. There was a lao a really nice distribution of pepperoni throughout the pizza and it never really gave that "greasy" feeling that can happen.
