I have periodontal disease and have had it for years, so I knew what to expect. I went back last week and had a deep cleaning, on one side, which was done under local anesthesia (shots). Dr Christy has a gentle touch and a very calming demeanor, which helps with someone as nervous as I am in the dentist chair. My deep cleaning went well and I go back in a couple of weeks to have the other side done. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The office is clean, modern and has a very nice atmosphere. I am glad I found this dentist and feel like my dental problems will be well managed.

I was disappointed by some of the answers to my questions, so I recognize it was not an easy call for her - but it was her use of the word "honey", and it's accompanied tone of voice, that lost my business. I am finding every option to leave reviews so the dental practice management can address this. Had this not occurred, I would have made an appointment after grumbling a little about redoing x-rays and other administrative items - and I have $5-$10k of dental work that needs to be performed. About a week after the dental service I received a bill for $195. I contacted them and said that was a mistake. A week later I get the same bill. I reply I have zero-copay and don't owe anything and that this looks like a scam. No reply. I confirmed with my dental insurance company they paid $552 to the dentist...for a teeth-cleaning! I am now getting collection company letters claiming I owe an additional $350! I will not pay this. This is a terrible dentist operating illegally.

I have found the people in the office pleasant and kind, but, unfortunately the office itself is not run with the patient's best interest in mind. When it comes to maintenance they seem to have a truly unpleasant approach in which I had to fight to have my needs met after a long delay due to the pandemic halt to such services, and had to protest a gross overcharge. Three different technicians performed maintenance; one to deep clean/plane 4 teeth, one to polish and one to scrape and deal with plaque -- in that order. None discussed the state of my teeth, evaluated my home management or offered suggestions. The dental exam precedes this, no follow up. I tried to ask #3 for comment but she was angry and rough from the start and turned her head away. Because of her harshness, I dared not complain that her face mask was below her nose, but I did afterward for her own sake; she just walked away. Of course this put me at risk. By the way, this 3-step routine was spread over 2 days, 3 weeks apart, for no apparent reason. I successfully argued for some reduction in price, although the adjusted sum is not discounted as it should be in the "plan" that we buy into. (I google searched what standard prices should be.) I also stipulated that I would not pay the $10 fee for the second visit. If I were not retired I would not have time for all this. My only explanation for their terrible approach to maintenance is that it has nothing to do with the needs of the patient and everything to do with deceptive playing with numbers and perhaps with their employees in this department. Why else so disgruntled? It is not the place of the office manager to evaluate our teeth (which happened during my complaint). That is the job of technicians and dentists, whether cost efficient or not. There was one excellent dental technician at the Bright Now on Wickham, so there is no reason this office can't follow their model. If they don't change, I'm done with them.

On December 3, 2025, Bright Now provided a written treatment estimate showing our out-of-pocket cost would be $522.50 after applying both of her dental insurance plans. We relied on that estimate when moving forward with treatment. Months later, when we returned to complete the exact same procedure, we were suddenly told that due to a "system change" they no longer accept or bill secondary insurance. As a result, the cost nearly doubled. What makes this even more frustrating is that both insurance plans had previously been verified and included in the original treatment estimate. No advance notice was provided, no documentation was shown explaining the change, and we were left with a dramatically higher bill after already experiencing multiple scheduling delays. Because of the repeated appointment issues, lack of transparency, and significant increase in cost, we ultimately made the decision to switch dentists. No family should have to delay needed dental treatment for their child because an office changes its billing practices after providing a written estimate. Patients deserve clear communication, consistent pricing, and honest expectations. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I have requested that Bright Now honor the original written estimate and am escalated the matter with no successful response.

I started going to Tropical Smiles a long time ago when Dr. Addington owned the practice, I moved and chose a dentist closer to home. Big Mistake! I came running back after the other dentist charged up front even with insurance and then reimbursed you weeks later, and tried to complete unnecessary procedures. Wendy and Abby and all welcomed me back and if we didn't just move to another state, I would continue to go to Tropical Smiles. They are seriously the best dentist in Brevard County!
