My wife treated me to a birthday staycation this weekend, and I am so glad she did! I've visited…read morePendry before for a Yelp event at the pool, but staying here was a completely different experience--and it was absolutely top-tier. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was impeccable. All I wanted for my birthday was a relaxing weekend, and Pendry delivered exactly that. My wife knew how much I needed some time to unwind, and with the help of the amazing staff, this birthday was everything I hoped it would be. Our suite was stunning. The photos truly don't do it justice! We had a beautiful view overlooking the pool, and the room felt more like a luxury apartment than a hotel room (minus the stove ). Everything was spotless, the bedroom was spacious, and the shower was hands-down one of my favorite parts of the entire stay. A special thank you to Jarae and the staff for the thoughtful birthday card and delicious dessert. Those little touches made my celebration feel even more special. While you're there, be sure to check out Bar Pendry, Moonraker, and the spa. And don't leave without picking up one of their soaps, candles, or body washes--you'll definitely want to take that signature Pendry scent home with you! Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations in every way. Between the beautiful accommodations, outstanding service, and thoughtful birthday surprises, Pendry earned a 1000/10 from me. I can't wait to return!

I thought it was luxury but it's not. It reminds me of Thompson brand actually just modern boutique with upscale touches but lacks attention to detail. Love their pool deck. Everything else is just okay. Bed was comfortable though and staff were friendly and tried to be serviceable. Like the accent lighting in room. Tiny rooms tiny bathroom with only 1 sink. Toilet closet is also small and claustrophobic. Wallpaper in hallways by elevator coming apart. When we got to our room there was bug crawling on our ceiling above the bed; took a while for cleaning ladies to come get it and they screamed and giggled as they tried to kill it. There was also one stuck on ceiling looked like a dead crushed gnat she tried for 3 seconds to get it off with her rolling tool and couldn't and left it there. Floor had crumbs and walls had food and makeup stains. Just not luxurious at all. I also do not recommend from a FHR standpoint. We were unable to get in our room early as the advertised noon checkin. I even asked if anything other than our upgraded room was available to get in room sooner and was told no. We arrived at 130 and didn't get in until 345ish. Before getting our room keys in addition to the original 200.00 incidental charge at check in, they charged my card for incidentals multiple times while we waited for the room to be ready and no one could explain why. I asked for manager and he immediately reversed the additional over 400.00 in overages. My card was charged again after that for something else so please watch your cards if staying here. Included with Amex FHR program, you do get 70.00 towards breakfast and a 100.00 credit and I hope there is no confusion at check out. It seems there may be so I am skeptical to use it. More charges hit my card after speaking with manager over 800 in automatic system security deposit charges no one can explain. Unacceptable. Also bathrooms on first floor at night were disgusting not clean at all poop in toilets tissue all over stall floors and ceiling was leaking had a bucket of water in middle of bathroom by sinks.

My daughter had so much fun with the employees and other kiddos! I opted to sit downstairs which is louder, but there is a quiet work/study space upstairs for additional cost. Before we left I also ordered food to go from Shorty's Deluxe. Childcare and food all in one Highly recommend Mulberry Lane for all the parents!

But Mulberry Lane is a notch above bc not only is it a play cafe but there is staff there to watch your lils while you get to go elsewhere within the building whether that's in the lil tables visibly nearby or in one of their neighboring and partnering restaurants. I'd toootally get my kids memberships if we lived nearby. Since we probably would only go weekends for an hour or two, I'm glad there are the options for one time pay or multi hour passes for future use. Since we weren't sure if we'd be back, we gave it a try for one hour. Prices may change but our first time was $18 per child per hour. This may seem high for only one hour, but my kids had fun and my hour without worrying about them or being interrupted was very productive so it was worth it. Staff are friendly. I only wished they had gluten free options for the kiddos to enjoy after their play. Guess we can bring our own next time! :)

There was a wedding AND a bridal shower occuring at the same time. There is upstairs to the restaurant and the wedding was happening up there. There is also an outdoor porch area where the bridal shower was occuring. Most of the seating inside was high top seating. All the wines are made in house and there was a large selection! Our server (who may also be the manager/owner?) was very kind and explained some of the wines for us. We got 2 of their flights and they were all excellent. The Library Collection has some unique drinks. They do sell most of their bottles to go (pic of pricing in this review!). They also make food and they all smelled great. I would love to go back and try more wines and some of their food!

We got a Chef's Whim board which was fun and filling. We also got the Winemakers and Library flights. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines. I'm not giving them 4 stars for a few reasons. I wish I could build my own flight because each flight choice had wines I didn't like. I also wish there were more menu items. And, the bench seating cushions were worn through almost to the stuffing which was really surprising that they would let them get that bad at a restaurant like this. That said, we had a great meal with a great server. I don't think we'll be back though.

The staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating during such a meaningful occasion. They graciously honored his widow's request to bring a collection of tiki glasses so that each guest could choose a favorite to use and then take home as a remembrance. It was a wonderfully personal tribute, and the staff helped make it feel completely natural and special. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the tropical drinks were exceptionally generous--so strong, in fact, that we eventually had to ask the bartenders to go a little easier on us! Royal Sands provided a festive, welcoming setting in which we could celebrate our friend's life exactly as he would have wanted.

To say I was pleasantly surprised though is an understatement! The first time I ordered sushi my roll was solid (although the second time the rice was a bit stale.) However, I also ordered the fish tacos and the combination of both were the perfect amount of food for a late evening meal. The Blackened Mahi Tacos (2) had more flavor than I anticipated and were actually really satisfying. Bonus point for the kitchen being open late. I'll definitely be willing to explore the menu more in the future!

The hotel is really beautiful and there is nothing I like more than a courtyard. This area is well-maintained and very relaxing. It also is a great space to wait to get into the restaurant and bar associated with the hotel. The rooms are very attractive and well laid out. The rooms are also specious and updated. The only problem is the shower which is slippery and has no bar. It also takes a few minutes for the water to warm up. One of the most wonderful aspects of the hotel is that if a room is ready you do not have to wait for the check-in time. What a great way to run a business!!! Parking is about fifty dollars a night. But if you want to leave late there is no extra charge. The hotel also gives you a twenty-five-dollar credit for Home Grown - the breakfast restaurant associated with the hotel. The people who run this hotel make you feel like you are important and they want you to stay without squeezing every penny from clients by adding extra costs. Old Town, Alexandria, is charming with several small museums, lots of boutiques and small shops, and great food. The people are not so friendly, but the service sector makes up for that. Additionally, the trolley and buses are free, and the Metro is close by.
