Our server, Michael, was absolutely amazing. He was attentive and made sure we had a great experience. Ask for him the next time you visit. He just had the best aura - so pleasant and welcoming. Food: I had the wagyu steak frites. My dish was perfection. Probably one of the best steak frites I've had. We also tried their burger - also a winner. And their lamb shank was delicious. We don't generally order dessert but we had to try their famous (almost 100-year old recipe) coconut cake. It was so light and fluffy with toasted coconut shavings. Wow, just Wow! The Majestic came and stole me heart away! I'm going to try and put into words our incredible experience. So here we go, first when I walked in, there was a warm and welcoming host that greeted us and escorted us to our table. The restaurant is warm, grown and sexy. A fantastic selection of music, at just the right volume, and decor that spoke sophisticated and elegant yet modern. Now to the food! OMG, some of the best dishes I've had in a long time! Flavor was 10/10 :) We ordered the Arancini, Harvest salad and fried cauliflower to start. Everything was insane so we knew the entrees were not gonna disappoint. We both got the lamb shank with a side of the smoked Gouda mashed potatoes, broccolini that slapped and the Parker rolls. Was so excited to try this place with my MIL but pains me that the food was lackluster. For starters, we got the brisket arancinis... 3/5 nothing particularly special. For dinner, I ordered the seared scallops and rice... 2/5. Fiance and I agreed that the mussels tasted funny. He ordered the lamb shank, that was relatively decent. 3/5 My in laws got the salmon and chicken and we didn't think it was remarkable either However, the service was incredible. We keep this place in our usual happy hour rotation, but tonight may have been the final. 4 staff members standing behind the bar staring at my empty glass. I overheard one say she was still in training, and I can't help but to suggest that full customer service become her next module. ***Happy Hour Review I first learned about this restaurant through a Yelp event a few years ago. Was in the area with time to kill so this was perfect. Got a parking spot right out front - paid via ParkMobile. It was during happy hour. The specials are great. The bar was crowded but luckily I was able to snag a seat. The bartenders provided great service and were friendly. Other patrons were nice and engaged in conversation with me. I ordered a glass of red wine on the happy hour. It was a cab and pretty good. Went here for brunch and loved it. My mushroom and goat cheese omelet was pretty and light, with the harvest salad alongside. My friend got the breakfast special- eggs, potatoes and bacon. I had the salmon and it was nicely seasoned over a delicious succotash. The restaurant was very crowded but the bartender did not miss a beat. She put some care into the cocktail. Arrived and immediately loved the vibe. Dark with lots of customers and great music. It was a VERY close quarters sitting at a two-top, however. The burrata was good but a bit wet and sweet. Nice flavors but I would have preferred the bread crunchy and on the side. Lamb shank was too salty to finish. It was well flavored and seasoned with warm spices but the unbalanced salt with salt added to the sauce, plus the delicious grits with plenty of cheese and salt gave me pause. The smoky pork chop was a win and was enjoyable with a simple sweet potato mash. The dark chocolate mousse had a velvety texture and used dark chocolate yet tasted creamy enough for many palettes. This also had more salt than needed so that distracted from the overall balance. I nursed a strong well-made old fashioned. Only time in my life I haven't finished a drink! I loved many things about this spot. The food quality was great but flavor combinations and execution weren't my favorite. I could see many people liking it more than me. read more

Stopped by The Majestic on King Street and had a good experience overall. The appetizers were just okay and didn't really stand out, but the burger was the highlight of the meal. It was juicy, flavorful, and cooked well. My only suggestion would be to melt the cheese a bit more to bring everything together. My wife had the Bronzino but didn't particularly care for it. I forget what it's called but y'all EVERYTHING IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every thing is literally amazing. That's all I can say. Our server was Nicholas and he was amazing as well. He lacked nothing! Our drinks.... Perfection. The ambiance, PERFECTION! The only negative thing I have to say is that the kids menu is not good.. I got my daughter a grilled cheese (she's 3) the grilled cheese is on huge, tough sourdough and has like provolone cheese on it. Not yummy, not easy for a child to eat. Their choice of veggies is also not normal for children lol.. where's the simple broccoli and carrots? Nonetheless.. that didn't put a dent in my experience. Stopped into the Majestic for a couple cocktails and apps on a rainy night in the DMV recently. Was greeted by the bartender and I eventually chose the Midnight Libretto cocktail, I'd never had it before but it was perfect. The ginger and rye gave it a nice smoothe texture without it being overly liquid forward, a small bite candied ginger dissolved nicely with each sip. I ordered the crab rangoons and the burrata to eat. Both we're light and delightful and went will with my 1st and 2nd Midnight Libretto. The creamy inside of the crab rangoons went well with the crispy exterior and the sweet and sour sauce. The burratas was laid out on two pieces of toast with balsamic and some other toppings, just delicious. I complimented the bartender on making great drinks and hope to come back soon as it was a great experience and drink I would like to enjoy again. read more

I love the old world moody ambiance with real candles and real flowers in the table. The gluten free cauliflower is delicious and a flavor bomb , the arancini balls incredible. Had an excellent grilled chicken harvest salad, beef carpaccio was super flavorful, steak frites excellent. I've eaten at "The Majestic" a time or two and was surprised that I hadn't written a review before now. Let's make this one short and sweet. Located on Uber popular King Street in Old Town, this restaurant draws you in with the cool name and the movie like sign attached to the front. Once you enter, it's dimly lit and larger than it looks from outside. It has an ample amount of booth seating which is my favorite way to dine. I've had dinner here years ago and honestly I don't remember what I had to include it in the review, but the breakfast is solid. We weren't super hungry so this time out I had the traditional breakfast and she had the avocado toast. Both were very good. Service was excellent and our server was extremely attentive. I have eaten here 4 or 5 times over the past year and have loved every time. The place has a small, dark, narrow vibe with an art deco feel and a fun little bar at the front. The service has always been professional and fun. The food is great. I love the Hanger Steak Frites, the Halibut, the Bone in Pork, and the Bolognese are all amazing. The Apple kale salad is great. For starters, the Parker House rolls, Beef Tartar, and Octopus are all top notch. The small bites are all good with special love for the Pimento Toast and Bacon Wrapped Dates. The bartenders here know their stuff and craft some great cocktails. This place is buzzing and reservations are a good idea, particularly for larger parties since seating for them are limited. Well, day 1 in old-town and this place is delightful and we stumbled upon it by happen chance. Come to find out the Majestic is very dated and has been a spot for decades. The Burrata & Rangoon were simply amazing. We split a burger which I regret now as it too was on point. Service was splendid. Day 2, after sitting in line on a wait list at a farm to table joint we decided to hit the Majestic once again and Open Table had a convenient time open. This was fortunate because there was a wait as this spot as well. Saturday brunch menu was subtly different with more egg options. With that we chose the same burrata appetizer dish from yesterday, it's amazing. Brunch meals were the crab & corn omelette and the sour dough French toast. Both great options especially splitting with one another. Service today was sporadic at this elevated diner due to some server training but the Majestic is a great spot for a great meal. read more

Several years past my wife went for lunch and said the waiter treated her shabbily. She has not been since and I will never go there.

My first visit and it was a fantastic one! We went on a snow day... not too many patrons, but no beats were missed by staff or kitchen! The ambiance was lovely, the service was great (thanks, Nicholas!), and the food was delicious. Everything made us want a bit more. I got the salmon (delicious and tender over a mustard corn concoction), the hamburger was raved about by the hamburger lovers, and all sides and appetizers were yummy! The drinks? Hit the spot. Our dessert, the creme brulee, satisfied the inkling for a sweet treat, but wasn't the star of the show. While we have no complaints and will revisit asap, the meals for kiddos are quite limited/don't fancy a toddler's appetite. Not a problem that can't be fixed by leaving the kid at home. Don't be fooled by the old school neon sign, this place has modern food and classy atmosphere. It is located conveniently in the heart of Alexandria on King street. Also, was one of the only restaurants open at 10p for late dinner after arriving into town. The service is fantastic and food came out quickly. Everything was tasty, but the star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. Portions of the calamari were really small. Really enjoyed the honey crisp apples in the salad. 3.5 stars I've been here a handful of times now. Pretty decent food. Latest was brunch this past Saturday for book club. The book was dark academia, and the rustic darker interior and vibes were just right, haha. The potatoes were amazing-- great flavor, nice and crispy. The crab omelette was really good too. I remember enjoying the Spanish octopus when I came for dinner, too. Biggest complaint at least this last visit was the service. We could barely find our server. I ended up having to pay my friend back because there was literally no one to flag down to help and I had to leave. They apparently couldn't bring our drinks because they were waiting on mugs... My espresso was brought in a mug instead of an espresso cup. Our food took about an hour. Overall they were likely understaffed as a lot of restaurants are, and the food is good, but man it was rough getting their attention. read more

We came here for a mid-day snack and absolutely loved the food and service we got. Our server (Nikolas) was extremely attentive and gave good suggestions for what we were looking for. We got the goat cheese stuffed dates, whipped feta dip, and the avocado toast and all 3 items were absolutely delicious in their own ways.
