My family and I recently had lunch at the Tikka Shack in Hershey, Pennsylvania (opened April 2024) while we were in town for the day. I ordered the "Chicken Tikka Masala" (savory, tomato-cream masala spiced up with paprika, coriander, and turmeric, served w/ basmati rice), my wife had the "Chicken Methi Malai" (flavorful & creamy curry sauce infused with methi (dry fenugreek), paprika, turmeric, yogurt, coriander, and garnished fresh cilantro, served w/ basmati rice), we both had Garlic Naan and Samosas on the side, and our sons both had the "Chicken Tikka Tenders" (tikka seasoned and hand breaded all white meat chicken tenders, served w/ fries). It tastes AMAZING when dipped into the malai kofta sauce -- which mind you was perfectly dreamy and creamy with a nice balance of tomato flavor. The homemade paneer dumplings were also so soft with a great texture, pairing perfectly with the sauce. Value: 5/5 - The total came out to be $42 or so for all this food and we were stuffed with plenty of leftovers. In summary, get the malai kofta and onion naan!! Not sure the purpose here, but it feels wasteful. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Kadai Chicken and Malai Kofta along with garlic naan. We got medium heat and were happy. Kadai Chicken was new to us and we loved it. Spectacular. Delicate and intricate flavors. We always order Malai Kofta if it's on the menu. Never disappoints. Chicken Tikka Masala was very good. We were just more enamored with the Kadai. All the dishes worked very well together. The malai kofta wasn't even hot, but we loved it anyway. The menu has all the ingredients listed and what is inside the food, which makes it very easy to choose what you want to eat. The bathrooms are also very clean. When you walk in, there is some incense in the beginning, and it is not overwhelming. It is pleasant and relaxing. It feels like you were transported into what I would believe is another part of the world. I'll be honest: the location isn't the most inviting, especially at night. Walking in felt a little unusual at first -- but the moment we stepped inside, the experience completely turned around. The staff here are genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. The chef himself even came out to talk to us, asked if everything was good, and shared his story. That personal touch really made the whole evening memorable. You can tell they care deeply about their guests. Now, the food -- fresh, flavorful, and made with care: * Noodles were made exactly as requested -- mild for my child -- and still packed with flavor. * Curries were rich and delicious without being overly oily or spicy. * Naan was fresh, light, and fluffy -- one of the better ones I've had in the area. * Dosa was crispy and simple but very satisfying with the accompanying chutneys. * Chili Paneer wasn't as spicy as I prefer, but the texture was spot-on -- crispy, well-coated, and flavorful. * Samosas were definitely worth ordering -- perfectly fried and nicely spiced. But the highlight of the entire meal was the Tokri Chaat. It came in these adorable bite-size, crispy edible baskets filled with chickpeas, chutneys, yogurt, and spices. Beautifully presented and even better in flavor -- a creative twist done perfectly. Between the warm hospitality, the thoughtful service, and the great-tasting food, Indian Curry Lounge is truly a gem.
