This shop is a scam! They take advantage of people and the prices are outrageous. I have been a customer here for over 20 years and would often recommend them. In the last few years I've been suspicious of their quotes. They knowingly will give outrageous quotes that if you look around you can easily find more reasonable quotes! I will never go back they tried to rip me off just under $1000. If I could give 0 stars I would. I don't know how they can even look themselves in the mirror or sleep at night. read more

We dropped our Van to get Emissions and Tires. We had the new tires put on. Not terrible pricing. Middle of the road tires, middle of the road prices. They called my wife and told her that in order to do the front end alignment they needed to fix the "broken" tie rod. Price to fix, $650.00. I thought it was odd, but possible. We just left a different garage that did the tune up and fixed the check engine light and gave the car a once over and told us we needed the front tires and a front end alignment and did not mention that the Tie rod was broken. We left here being somewhat skeptical, and took our Van to another garage that performed the front end alignment and said there was no "broken" tie rod. Saved $650.00 Be Warry of this place, they may be selling snake oil. read more

Wow, I am literally shocked by some of the reviews here. I'm almost skeptical because not only have my personal experiences been great with Bolton Motors, but they have over 500 positive reviews online and their Facebook and Google Reviews are also pretty awesome. Maybe the service a few years ago had a bad apple, I don't know. But they are definitely worth checking out now. I have known the guys at Bolton Motors for over a year and Ed and his team are absolutely fabulous with car repairs (from hot rods and classic cars to old BMWs and newer Toyotas - they have a mechanic who does it all). Ed has incredible character and integrity. I have recommended them to everyone I know in the area. My 2011 Toyota was acting funky a few months ago with the warning lights coming on. I took it to the Toyota dealership and while they are always pretty great, the quote for what it "Could" be was about $1,000. I wanted a second opinion, so I took it to Bolton Motors. Ed said he'd take a look and mentioned it was probably nothing serious. Turned out I had a mouse nest in the filter area. It was nothing more than a simple clean out. Bottom line: This is an honest mechanic, and they are skilled for nearly any car repair you may have. Also, their community classic cruise nights during the summer are super fun! read more

They tried to take me for more repairs than necessary. My brakeline broke. I was told that TWO broke! I was also told that other repairs were necessary at a total cost of over $850 that I refused. On the phone, I was quoted that the brake line (front passenger side, through the wall and short distance to the master cylinder) was priced at $180. It is a part costing less than $20 from the parts store, but mind you they made it so it was under $10 at their cost. I told them that price was way off. When I arrived, my invoice was $220 for two hours labor for the repair, $105 for bleeding the brake lines ( you need to only bleed the one wheel, less than 10 minutes) and $25 for the copper brake line, (not the rubber line) and that the second line was not broken. I got them to remove the bleeding charge but they would not budge on the two hours labor.(frankly I have done the work, and a for a drive way mechanic all the work could be done in less than 60minutes.) They are liars and will cheat and over bill you. Push your car to any other repair shop or bring someone with you to evaluate their diagnosis and bill before you pay or YOU WILL PAY! read more

Took my car in for oil change, remove snow tires and found out it needed a brake job. I assume work done was ok. 2 tires removed were wedged into the trunk so badly it took 2 people to force them out. The other 2 were tossed in the back seat without plastic covers so black smudges left on seat. When I arrived, the service manager greeted me with "Hello, young lady", a demeaning, unfunny remark.( I am over 65).. After I left a complaint of their web site, he called at 7 am waking me up. Instead of apologizing, he first said the person making the remark didn't mean it as an insult and I was wrong to think that was an insult. He then blustered some more and back tracked and admitted that it was him. Bolton Motors is not a place to go to if you are a women and wish to be treated with respect read more

Had my car towed to the shop after it had died. Expressed that the problem was the ignition switch. Shop claimed it was the fuel pump. Replaced the pump to the tune of $900.00. Picked the car up and it died within 30 seconds expressing the same symptoms as the day it was towed. Mechanic had an attitude and was completely annoyed that I was not satisfied. Problem was ultimately diagnosed as the ignition switch which is what I originally diagnosed. Shop claims that fuel pump was a problem but disposed of pump before we could verify and prove that it did not work. I expressed my dissatisfaction however the shop still charged me another $400.00 for the ignittion switch replacement.... NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! read more

Terrible. I had an axle seal replaced and was charged close to $250 for the repair. I was also quoted over $1000 in additional repairs that they thought my car needed. This need for "additional" repairs was communicated to me in a way that felt dishonest, so I did not proceed with the additional repairs. 7-8 months later I took my car to a Chevy dealership for a different repair only to have Chevy tell me that the exact same axle seal that was repaired at Bolton Motors was leaking fluid. After further inspection, the Chevy mechanic found that the axle seal was installed incorrectly. Not only do I feel that Bolton Motors is dishonest with its customers, I also will not trust them again with repairs on my car. read more

They are only getting 1 star because you have to give something. To me... they deserve to be put out of business! My grandparents have been long long time customers! Now my grandmother, 88, is alone and needed her air conditioner serviced. Her 1st quote was for just over $100.00. Then they called her with an amount of $1009.00. For her she figured, it needs to be done and could trust them. Her final bill was $1200 plus!!! I looked over the bill and found at least one double bill. They said they put in a new ac compressor but also charged $412 for overhauling the old one. I went to another garage and they said it was a huge error and checked to see if it was a new compressor, which it was. When questioned they admitted the double bill, said it was an accident and did refund the money. To me, this is completely unacceptable. How many other elderly or unknowing people have they ripped off! This error was a 33% over bill! They should be put out of business! If you or anyone else goes there, please review your invoices! read more
