This place used to be great when they were on Broad Street. I went in one afternoon in November, with an appointment, for two rear tires on my commuter car and an alignment check. I had my three kids with me. Took a while to get the car in, and there are windows so you can watch the techs work. There was no urgency. It was a bunch of kids hanging out with their friends eating snacks. Two hours later the tires were finally replaced. Then the hood was up. I went to the counter and asked what was going on...their reply was, a "complimentary full service check." I told them to back the car out, we're leaving. The alignment was never checked. I didn't go in for a battery or any other checks. The instructions were clear, two tires and an alignment...never again. Never. read more

Watch out - since Dale sold the business to this corporation, the service you get now is the opposite. I have been going to Tires International for 7 years and I have never had to question their integrity or care for their customers. Last year, Dale decided to finally retire (good for you, Dale!), but is going to stay with the business for 2 years, so that's why you will still see him there. I brought my vehicle for an oil change, like I typically do. Shortly after, my vehicle started making strange airy sounds in the motor area. Upon inspection, my air filter was upside-down which caused debris to accumulate and damage the air mass flow sensor. The above negligence resulted in a loss of use of my vehicle and a repair bill. Shame on you, Tires Int'l VIP for your shady practices for getting new work. This may work in the short-term, but people will be onto you. Long-term, you can guarantee your closure. How dare you intentionally cause damage to customer vehicles when you are entrusted to care for their vehicle? Beware. read more

Done with this place. I have been going to Tires International, now VPS (very poor service), since it was on Broad St. in Manchester. Under new ownership this place has gone the ways of many other places that used to be reputable. Gone are the days of connecting with the customer, committing to getting a job done when you said it would be done. Mom and Pops ruled, chains are terrible and you what, they really don't care. Too much time on cell phones, not following up with the customer when the job is falling behind the committed schedule. It's really too bad because my whole family would bring their cars to TI. We recommend tire international fully. We were having problems with the alignment on our Chevy traverse and after they tweaked it we noticed it was rocking back-and-forth. We brought it back and they spent days on it. It was even baffling them as to what was wrong with it. They put new bushings in the rear end they tried to put shocks on it. They did may alignments and nothing helped. They even took the driveshaft out and changed out one of the engine mounts in the front. They did so much work and they didn't even charge us for all that work they did so if you want a good fair honest place to come they do full service is in Manchester it is tire to national and we can't say enough good things about it read more

My car went in for starter they did a horrible job. The starter quit after 30 days and I was in Boston. Furthermore to install the starter they had to remove part of the exhaust they messed the exhaust I had to tow my car to my regular serviceman in Hartford My recommendation stay away from this place read more

These guys are the WORST of the WORST!!! A few months ago I got a bad batch of tires. They rebalanced the first time and the vibration didn't go away. They checked it out a second time and blamed engine mounts. They checked it out a third time and blamed bent rims but replaced 2 tires reluctantly then said they balanced all 4 so I should be all set. I still have at least one bad one they refuse to warranty. 've had my car checked by 2 shops and these guys are lying to get me to spend money on unnecessary repairs. They are CLUELESS about tires and defects. Sometimes tires are defective from the factory like anything else but they refuse to own up to it!!! read more

Shredding a tire in the highway at travel speeds is a huge headache and it would've been exceedingly frustrating had it not been for this excellent company. I'm sorry to be writing this review but I feel at this point something needs to be said. I have been a Tires International customer for 25+years, since they were on Broad St. They took care of multiple vehicles for me, always with quality of work and good customer service. That level is no longer there! I'm sure Covid had a lot to do with this, and losing Lisa at the counter is a factor as well. But I no longer trust the assessments, don't receive an estimate call on the job, and have been getting attitude on questions I have. This was NEVER the case in the past. I'm not going to describe the events that happened the last two times my car was serviced there... that would take too long. But the bottom line is that we no longer will go there for anything other than tire rotations. They are too unreliable. read more

I have been a customer of Tires International for several years - to be honest I've never had a problem with their service, pricing or products. They work hard to get the job done and I've never felt ripped off or taken advantage of. The reason for my 1 star review is due to the preponderance of political cartoons prominently displayed behind the sales counter/cashier area. These cartoons are distinctly pro-Trump and conservative in nature, which entirely puts me off of wanting to spend my money in such a place. I have the choice of where to spend my money, and I do not wish to knowingly support a business or individuals who are ok with family separations and no process to reunite them (as of Dec 2019 the official government response is "thousands" of children separated with no idea where/who their parents are), support of a President who habitually lies and misleads the public, or support a worldview in which women's rights, minority rights, voting rights and others are somehow treated like sport or secondary to a lower tax rate for a small business. To be fair - they have every right to believe such things, and to display it in their store or business as they see fit. Equally so, when I see such an outward display I feel it is my obligation (personally, others may disagree) to not frequent a business who makes it a visual part of their customers experience. If i could give no stars, I would. And I certainly would never recommend bringing your car here for anything. I called requesting service and was told numerous times that I didn't need an appointment without them even asking what I was looking to have done. Now, 3 visits later within the span of a week and a half, the issue is still reoccurring. They did not listen when I expressed NUMEROUS TIMES what I was looking to have done, they did NOT do any type of thorough inspection, they did not follow through whatsoever. And at the end of it all I wasn't offered reimbursement for the service that I did pay for that didn't fix my issue. Now i'm being told I need to come back again for an actual appointment which was what I requested to begin with. Extremely aggravating for those of us who have to take time off work to be able to bring our cars in for things like this, there's no reason that a service should take 4 separate visits to fix. read more

Super disappointed, and may I say that if you are from out of state, you definitely shouldn't trust this place. The rest of their yelp reviews were great, which is why I went here. My car broke down, and I brought it in. They quoted me $1900 for an air conditioner compressor and alternator. I decided to have it towed back to Massachusetts where my mechanic did everything for $600. Dale also offered to buy it off of me for $200 for parts. They seemed super trustworthy, but now I know that is not the case. If you are not from Connecticut, do not go here. And if you are from Connecticut, you probably shouldn't go here either! read more

Fascinating experience shopping for tires today. This was one of several stops I made, but another I feel the need to review for my Yelpy friends in CT. Wandered into this fancy schmancy Tire Center in ManchVegas as I was heading back home from my first foray into tires for the FIAT, approached the desk where an associate was standing and said, "hi." I was immediately told, "bear with me. hold it." while the associate didn't look up and just kept writing on a repair order. "No problem," I thought. He had to finish a note that was on his mind before he forgot what he was noting. Upon looking up, he noticed someone who seemed to be a regular customer behind me. Said associate warmly greeted the seemingly regular customer and decided it would be appropriate to take care of him before me. Incredulous, I made mention of the fact that I was next. The associate told me to "hold on" and the customer told me "I was next". Um, no, you self important jerk. I was in line, "bearing with" the associate while he finished writing. YOU came in AFTER me. Wait your bleeping turn. But oh, dear Yelper...it gets better. After finishing with the regular customer, the associate looked up to see a lovely young woman in line. Admittedly, she was a knockout. I know a pretty girl when I see one...even if I'm an old man! What does this guy do? He begins taking care of her...very, very sweetly. And that's when I put my foot down, curtly but politely stating I was next. The lovely young lady replied, "you know, I thought so...go right ahead." As she stepped back, I thanked her and proceeded to restart my request for tires. The associate looked me up and down and said, "I saw you drive in. You have the FIAT? Well, you're not getting tires today. I don't have them. He then takes a card and scribbles prices on it, giving me prices on tires I specifically mentioned that I didn't want! When I tell you, Mr. Tires International Associate, that I do not want Firestones or Kuhnos, don't sell me on them. I'm not interested. Sigh. When I inquired as to how long it would be for tires, he said "maybe a week." Seriously? WTF? Apparently, business is good. He really didn't have time for me. Then again, that young lady behind me was indeed far better looking than I could ever dream to be. I'd rather look at her than my own reflection in the mirror, anyway. But I had a wad of cash I wanted to spend on tires. My cash was just as green as hers. The difference between my cash and hers? My cash is still mine. They took her cash as I figure they thought it was better looking and therefore worth more. Ugh. Oh well...keep looking! read more

Have always had a positive experience until today- gentleman insisted on changing all 4 tires and actually REFUSED to do anything less before even looking at the treading of the other tires. I am visiting this time and borrowing a friend's car so I was unable to take the car elsewhere given my timeframe. After waiting an hour when they quoted me 45 minutes, i was told the guy went to the warehouse a town over to get tires. Was anyone going to tell me this? He is still not back, i'm late for an appointment and I've now spent an unexpected $450. I will not be referring anyone back here based on my latest experience. read more

Since buying my car in 2008, I have had many experiences dealing with mechanics, dealerships, auto body shops etc; my experiences overall being pretty horrible. I found out about a month ago that I needed new tires, but kept putting it off. Now that it's starting to get cold and going to snow soon, I realized I needed to grow up and plunk the large sum of cash down for some new tires. Enter Tires International. My fiancé is pretty knowledgeable about cars and had positive experiences with Tires International in the past so this was the first place we went to get an estimate. We stopped in last week and even though it was near closing, Dale, the owner, was incredibly friendly, helpful and spent awhile with us going over different tires. First of all, Dale checked that I needed new tires (can't ever trust the dealership), and confirmed that I needed to get new ones soon. Then he gave us estimates for 6 different tires ranging from high end to mid-range. He said he could give us lower estimates too, but that would bring us into pretty low end tires. As I have an AWD car and like to be safe and sound in the snow, I didn't want to get something that was junk. Dale then actually showed us each tire and went on to describe how some were better in snow than others, some I would get better gas mileage with, some are good for the environment etc. He explained that I would have free tire rotations for the life of the tires, every 5,000 miles. Also worth mentioning, every estimate I received included price of tires, labor, alignment, and tax. I couldn't believe the level of customer service I was getting. Unbelievable. I made an appointment for today I got my new tires put on. The whole experience was seamless and I was in and out within an hour. I have waited longer to get simpler car work done!! The waiting room is large with free coffee and access to their WIFI - woo! I am excited to have found Tires International and will return time and time again for all of my car care needs. read more

Tires International have saved my butt again and again. I first went to them on the recommendation of a highly rated shop I found on the Car Talk app for the NPR show. The gentleman said that he could not get to me that day with my battery terminal issue, and recommended that I go to Tires International which was a few miles away. I could not have been more pleased. Lisa was amazing and was able to get my car all fixed up for under $20 and 20 minutes. I had been using a mechanic for five years in South Windsor and had recently found paperwork from an old car that had been totaled showing me that I had been getting ripped off for years, as had the rest of my family. Not a little ripped off, over $1,200 ripped off on just one transaction. Tires International did an amazing job keeping my '97 Camry together until the day it died from a non-mechanical accident. They once did a repair that they quoted me about $550 for and the work it needed ended up totaling about $1,000 according to RepairPal.com where I was able to price out the repair based on national costs as well as prices in my area. The amazing thing, they didn't charge me a single penny more that they said they would. When the Camry needed Muffler work they referred me to Manchester Muffler, who I have also reviewed. Lisa told me that they could fix the problem significantly cheaper, and boy did they. When my '97 Camry was completely totaled and I lucked into an '09 Malibu for an amazing price. I have had some issues with the car, including some bizarre tire issues. They have not only charged a VERY fair price for the few repairs they made, but I came in three or four times trying to solve the tire puzzle and they charged me nothing for diagnosing the problem. Once the problem was resolved when I was able to give them new information on the car's symptoms the repair was under $10. This shop has been amazing. I referred my mom to Tires International and she did not want to go the next time she had an issue. The old mechanic overcharged her again. I again checked out the information on RepairPal.com. The next issue she had I finally got her to take her truck to Tires International. After dropping off the car she called me in a panic when she got the quote from them. She told them to do the work, but she was freaking out. Luckily she made a list of what they were doing and I hit RepairPal.com again and discovered that their estimate was about 25% less that everyone else in the area. She was VERY pleased when she got her car back. She is now a loyal customer as well having returned for other issues. I will never go to another shop unless they tell me to :-) read more

I live five minutes away from Tires International, but will no longer be going there after today. On Monday, I called for a new tire. I told the gentleman my car's make, model, and year, as well as the tire I needed. He said it would be in by the next day and that he'd call me. Thursday comes around, still no phone call. I call there, and they tell me that they never ordered the tire because they didn't know what size it was. EVERY mechanic I've ever been to can find your tire size by looking up the make and model. Hell, anyone with an internet connection can find that information. Sure enough, she was able to find it once I asked her to use the computer. Since they hadn't bothered calling me and never would have had I not called back, I asked for a free alignment. She refused, but after their poor customer service they should have done something for me. It's clear that they have more than enough business; I'll take mine elsewhere. As I said, I live 5 minutes away and they have me in their system. It's baffling that they would rather lose me as a customer than take a small hit due to THEIR mistake. read more

Emissions test, $20 cash only. Every two years for your registered car. Some model years are exempt from this. Walked in, paid, gave my keys, and continued to the waiting section. Simple clean place. I could actually see my car live on a 15 inch screen in the waiting room. Pretty cool if they were to have a screen for each bay and not just emissions. They deal with tires. Not sure of what other services. Will visit again! read more

Fantastic experience! My tire pressure light went off on the highway so I turned off the exit and saw Tires International and pulled in. Turns out I had a screw in my tire. They took my car right away, patched the tire, charged me a reasonable price and had me on my way in less than 40 minutes. Everyone I spoke to was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I've been to Tires International twice in the last year, both resulting in a terrible experience. The first time 3 out of my 4 wheels came out with deep scratches on them. The owner was called out to look at my wheels and he argued with me saying the scratches were caused prior to them working on my car, even though the weels were dirty and the scratches were fresh and clean... The second time i THOUGHT everything was fine when I had my snow tires switched over to summer tires until my dealer was doing a routine oil change and noticed that all 4 of my wheels had been installed incorrectly and my 4 directional tires were aiming the wrong direction. I went back to see the owner, again, and all he could do with look at me with a blank look in his face and say "OK" to everything I told him. The shop is a joke and the owner/manager has the business mentality of a 4 year old. Extremely unprofessional. Would not suggest to ANYONE! read more

Took these morons six hours to put on new tires/ do an alignment and they were very dishonest about a time frame. A few hours is not six. Why they have to lie on the phone when asked " it is almost ready " not once but twice over a four hour time span is beyond me. Rude. Jerks. Another great experience! My fuel line was leaking, yikes, and knew it had to be fixed ASAP. Showed up 1st thing in the morning, and by the end of the day I had a brand new fuel line installed, despite the fact the part had to come from the dealer - now that's excellent service. The cost was very reasonable (about 40% less than the dealership) and I was confident the job was done right. I've been a customer for 20+ years and won't go anywhere else! read more

My friend and I were heading to the beach with his classic vehicle when we noticed the shimmy coming from the car once we got on the highway. We figured it must be the tires so we called tires international and asked if they could get us in immediately so we can continue our trip. They were very accommodating and waited on us immediately as we arrived. Able to diagnose the issue and off we were going in 30 minutes! read more

Double check any work they do. Went in for a battery, I pop the hood to see what they put in for a battery and still had old battery. Went back and and they said tech must have "forgot" to change it. Use to go here all the time. Seems like skill level of techs have gone down hill. Time to find a new shop read more

Went in for emissions because I have a lowered vehicle and they are one of the few places with drive on rollers. After passing emissions decided to do an alignment as well, they were able to sneak me in quickly. The tech who did the alignment was amazing working with me aligning the car how I wanted it. Overall great experience they will have my business from now on and come highly recommended. read more
