It seems that at some point it was moved here to the parking lot of a business from a shorter concrete slab in the woods. It's not really the tallest filing cabinet. It's a stack of regular-height filing cabinets attached to one another into a column, so it's less impressive or creative. Structurally, it is a vertical stack of separate cabinets turned into a sculpture, not a purpose-built giant cabinet with 38 drawers. It's covered by vandals' stickers and markings. It hasn't been treated and since they aren't meant to be outdoors, rust and weather damage has taken severe effect. Each drawer represents a year of bureaucratic delays related to a proposed highway project in Burlington called the Southern Connector, first proposed in 1965. Some of the drawers contain catalogued fragments of a shredded red Volkswagen Beetle. Of course, you can't see it though.

The maple creemee was incredible -- unbelievably delicious, rich, and perfectly creamy with an authentic maple flavor that completely lives up to the hype. Easily one of the best maple treats you'll find anywhere. The maple syrup tasting was both informative and fun. The staff did a fantastic job explaining the different syrup grades and flavor profiles, and it was fascinating to taste how much they vary. Everything felt fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. The grounds themselves are beautiful, especially in winter. With a deep blanket of snow covering the landscape, the farm felt peaceful, scenic, and exactly what you hope for when visiting Vermont in February. If you're anywhere near Montpelier or Barre, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is absolutely worth the stop -- for the experience, the views, and one unforgettable maple creemee.

I was a little bummed that there was no farm tour but they provide you an informational video and plenty of maple syrup to sample. What blew me away was how nice and generous Tim was. He took time out of his day to show us around and even gave my husband & I some sugar maple candy to sample as well as answered any of the questions that we had. Their maple soft service ice cream (maple creemee) was also really really good! It tasted so light and fresh! I have to admit, this was probably our most interesting find on our trip. Will Knight began his business in the 1970's as a cabinet maker. He began hobbying with spider webs by spray painting them and affixing them to recycled pieces of wood. Once laminated, these became unique works of spider art. He soon became a spider web farmer full time. His knowledge about the spiders who weave webs on his farm is immense and he loves to share. The art is available in his store in various sizes and different shades of wood. We took home a gorgeous web on black wood. This is a most unique farm, and definitely worth the drive to check it out.

It was built in 1844, and the most famous of the (many) stories about this bridge is that back in the 1800's, a farmer's daughter, Emily, fell in love with a young man from a rich family, but his parents refused to allow their wedding to occur. The young man told Emily to wait on the bridge at midnight, but he didn't show, and she was so distraught, she is said to have taken her own life. Allegedly, her ghost appears during the nighttime around Halloween, haunting those who come to the bridge. We drove over the quiet bridge during a summer day, but we saw no sightings of Emily !!

We were there on a Sunday, a beautiful spring day - the sun shining and the small group of visitors kept growing as the afternoon progressed. Unknown to us, the Vineyard had a busy agenda planned, but first they steered us to a grassy area away from their main parking area to park for the night. We went inside to the cool and comfortable wine tasting room and were greeted by a very friendly engaging staff. Ruby offered us a sample and ran through their day's agenda. A talented group of musicians were setting up their equipment on the shaded patio outside while guests were spreading blankets on the lawn or setting up a picnic on one of the several available tables. We were meeting old friends there and hoped we could find a seat. The band played much of the music that I grew up on (Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, the Dead, and lots more.) We picked out a few bottles to put in the frig in our rig ... then went back inside. Our friends (that live nearby in Vermont) joined us first inside where we shared a charcuterie board. We later moved to our Class B with them and enjoyed our little picnic, accompanied by their delicious wines. Then late in the afternoon, we went back inside because a jazz ensemble was to perform. The sun was still shining and everyone there was feeling the vibes. We met the owner who had a staff that he should be very proud of - they were very gracious to all the guests that came through. This bridge is also known as the Great Eddy Covered Bridge, the Big Eddy Covered Bridge or…read moreWaitsfield Covered Bridge, and crosses the Mad River in Waitsfield, VT. Built in 1833, it is one of Vermont's oldest covered bridges and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is a "single-span Burr truss structure," and at 105 feet in length, it is Vermont's longest bridge of that kind. Apparently, people of all ages have taken to jumping off the green metal roof of the bridge, as well as out of the windows of the walkways, and off the concrete structure in general. They love doing stunts with their scooter or doing flips. I think they're all nuts, but it seems to be "a thing." I think we'll just admire the bridge from the road and that'll be that.

Very happy with the prices! We were able to get two entrees and an appetizer for under 50 dollars before tip. The entrees came with a large serving of pasta and tasty bread. The vibe is more casual than I expected and the addition of trivia night made the experience one we will not forget. Our server was awesome and kept up on our drinks while we played trivia. The food was lukewarm. For dessert we had the raspberry sorbet and Blondie Brownie. We got there before the rush at 5:00pm. When we left the place was packed! Will always come back for a meal here.
