Very disappointed in my take out experience this evening. I arrived at the suggested ready time, paid for the pizza, and then was told the pizzas just went into the oven. They gave me my pizza 20 minutes later. I got home 5 minutes later and it was not hot and clearly not fresh out of the oven. Who knows when it was made? I plan not to get take out here again. Called at 6:51pm, not knowing that they closed at 7, and asked if they took reservations or if it was first come first serve. They said first come first serve. I then asked is there any wait for a table for four? They said no. Walked in at 6:57pm and was told sorry we're closed by the same person who answered the phone. Now, there are those of you reading this who will say that I should have known their hours, and I will give you that. Really excited by the the pizza combinations on the online menu so Saturday evening I try to order online through the website which directed me to Grubhub but it was a dead end. Then I calling several times but no one answered and no way to leave a voicemail. So, following day we stop by at 5:00. The place looked nice and the smell was wonderful. I asked the staff if they had been closed the night before but was told they had been open and very busy. I said we'd be ordering take out later. At 6:30 I try calling several times. No answer so we go there to order in person at about 7:15. There are lots of customers and the small bar is full, but we are told they can't take our order because they are closing early. Worst take out experience I have ever had. Ordered pizza for pick up and when I got it home was completely unsatisfied by the quality/amount of toppings I got for the price. I brought the pizza back to the store uneaten to ask for a refund and was told that because I ordered through grubhub I would have to request a refund on that website and they couldnt do anything at all to even try to rectify the situation. The problem is I ordered through the restaurant website and do not have a grubhub account so I couldnt get a grubhub refund. This was obviously just a lie to get me to leave so they can keep my money and not hold any accountability for their sub par cooking or make the slightest attempt at decent service. read more

The menu here looked great so off we went! The pear/cashew salad was yummy and fresh. We decided on the pesto chicken pizza and we're not disappointed. Crust was nice and then. Pesto was very flavorful and the tomatoes on top were yummy. Could've had a bit more chicken but it was very tasty. I went to a wood fired pizza place and didn't try the pizza. That said, I wasn't disappointed, everything we got was delicious. We started with the Tri-Force Boomers as well as Sauce and Dough, both were great. I got a Sausage and Mushroom Rigatoni which was quite good, and tried a bite of the chicken alfredo which was good as well. "Best pizza in the strip mall" does not do this place Justice. It's my favorite pizza spot in Burlington. The service and staff are stellar and the ambiance fits so well. When the open the garage door in the summer it's perfect! I come here way too much! I ordered an otherwise vegetarian pizza from this place and picked sausage from their add on ingredients list. I requested to get all of the sausage put on half the pizza because I was sharing it with someone who does not like meat. When I got there the staff had canceled my order, simply telling me that they don't do half-and-half pizzas. Now I would understand if I ordered a half Hawaiian and half pesto, sausage, and pepperoni, but I just asked them to put all of the additional ingredient of sausage on their list on one side of the pizza. Apparently that was too much for them to be able to handle, and the place was practically empty. Frankly, if you can't handle that kind of request, you do not deserve to succeed. If you're looking for decent pizza don't come here! Nothing is fresh. The pizza oven is too hot, the pizza comes burnt and under cooked. Stay away from maple brussel sprouts unless you want a mouthful of maple syrup that you would put on pancakes. Two starts because service was good but I would never return for the food. Wow, this place is really damn good. I wish I had photos from my previous visits, but they're on my old phone. Anyway, I can only speak of the pizza options. The boyfriend and I always get some sort of half-and-half creation. And we're sure to come hungry... Portions are perfect for two people! Garlic and Arugula pizza: my go-to! don't get me wrong, I love a good tomato sauce, but sometimes what you really need after a long week is some soft, fluffy dough covered in gooey cheese, bitter greens, and sharp onions. Enough said. Chipotle and Honey: Ah... I have absolutely no tolerance for anything spicy. This one was my boyfriend's doing. He devoured his half of the pizza in no less than 15 minutes; he actually looked like the classic squirrel with stuffed cheeks... that's how good it was. Anyway, it's all fun and games until the next morning when he returns from the bathroom after an especially spicy bowel movement. In his words: pain 2/3, pizza 3/3. Buffalo Chicken: Again, my boyfriend's choice. I think he would call this pizza a less painful alternative to the Chipotle and Honey. I was daring enough to try this one; a tad spicy for me but overall really good. Three visits to La Boca and I was very satisfied every time. Came here with some friends. Great atmosphere, very laid back. All local beers. All of the wood work was done by the owner himself. It really shows how much love and care was put into the place. For starters we ordered the Caprese salad, definitely something to share with others. Then for our main menu, we ordered two pizzas, the first pizza had half Brussel Sprouts with Truffle Oil (added bacon) and the other half Chipotle & Honey (added chicken) per the owner's suggestion. The second pizza had Loaded Potato and Ham & Artichoke. All of it was delicious. And lastly we had the smores pizza for dessert... GO GET THE SMORES PIZZA NOW. You will not regret it. Same dough as the pizza but left a little bit undercooked, drizzled with chocolate and mini marshmallows with graham crackers sprinkled over the top. Owner keeps removing my review on a different platform and here's my story. Please do not support him. I ordered a few pies there and was told 45 minutes on a Friday night. I showed up after an hour and the hostess said that the order isn't ready yet, but it just went in the oven and will be shortly. I went to the grocery store and came back 30 minutes later and the order still wasn't ready and not even in the oven yet. I asked the hostess (politely) that I would just like to cancel my order and she said yeah no problem. As soon as that happened some guy working at the kitchen started talking to me and said out loud YEAH WHATEVER GET OUT OF HERE. I replied and said (ok thanks? I'm working on a refund). He then started calling me a b*tch, a do*che and a few other very offensive terms. For some reason he then revealed his identity and said he was owner and I can f*ck off and stop harassing his employees. All I did was ask for a refund and gave zero ounces of attitude the whole time I was there throughout this whole process. I asked him what I did that was so disrespectful to his front staff and he started back in with the offensive name calling. I understand that the pandemic, food service, staffing etc has been extremely difficult and more so as of late. But for him to talk to customers and even humans like that is extremely offensive and alarming. If this man talks to people like this in front of his staff, I can bet this isn't the first time and can only wonder how he treats them. There were at least 5 people at the takeout window (including children) that witnessed this whole thing and I hope they will share this story, just like I have. I'm sorry for the employees there, but do yourself a favor and do not support this mans business. He should be completely ashamed of himself and ask for the support of community that strives to end bullying and sexual/homophobic slurs in public or behind closed doors. read more

Good but not great. Pizza crust was fantastic, toppings were good. I'm always irritated when I see sliced tomato on a margarita pizza. A margarita pizza has red sauce, buffalo mozzarella and basil, not sliced tomato. And then they're picked off leaving not much on the crust. A bummer. Caesar salad was ok. Our chicken entrée was well cooked but there was waaaaay too much chopped (almost raw) garlic on it - which is honestly, nauseating. For days. We were in Burlington and decided to get away from the downtown area and were also in the mood for Italian. So we checked out La Boca on Yelp and it had a decent rating. I called for a reservation and was told they couldn't accommodate us until 8 pm. No problem, but when we got there the place was deserted. I can't imagine that all of their diners magically disappeared at 8 pm. We were seated and ordered a starter of dough and sauce. It started out promising, but our meal went downhill from there, because while the wood fired strips of dough were tender and tasty, our entrees were just mediocre. My companion ordered the chicken pesto pizza. The tomatoes were terrible and out of season, of course. Our waitress said the kitchen makes fire roasted Roma tomatoes every day. A good chef should've known that fire roasted or even sun dried tomatoes would be a vast improvement over out of season tomatoes. Their pizza has a terrific crust, but it was marred by below average toppings. I ordered the chicken piccata. Again, it was just average. The chicken was overcooked and tough. A good piccata has thin pounded chicken breasts that cook up nice and tender. The chicken in the dish could've been saved by the wine and caper sauce, but there just wasn't enough of it. The pasta was cooked al dente, but it was very dry. The dish needed twice the amount of sauce. The dish was just blah without it. I also had to ask for Parmesan cheese so I could get some added flavor. I don't think you should have to ask for cheese at an Italian restaurant. Our bill came to $60 with a tip and included one glass of wine. We could tell they were trying. The service was okay and the entire first page of their menu tells their story and is all about using reclaimed materials and attempting to use locally sourced ingredients. I do hope they can survive. It's a neighborhood kind of place. Unfortunately, there is nothing special about the food. read more
