Saw post about this place so we wanted to check it out .. nothing fancy inside .. booths and 2 tables; but the food was very good and tasty ! Naan garlic soo good - portions are more than enough to share and have leftovers. They do not serve any alcohol but you can bring a bottle and they'll serve you. Our server was very polite and even gave us a couple samples of sauces to take home to try. Our receipt shows our order All yummy !! You must go if you like authentic Indian cuisine

We ordered a chicken tikka masala and a lamb korma; both were good but they lacked a little bit of spice and maybe a higher heat level (spice wise, not temperature wise). The garlic naan and butter naan were good but it felt like they fell short on something, maybe the type or amount of butter used but I'm not exactly sure (perhaps some ghee would be better). We also ordered the veg samosas, those were perfect and the chutneys were magnificent. Overall, pretty good. Could improve but not bad for the area if you're looking for an indian food fix. Also, they serve with plastic utensils and personally I do not enjoy that.

Hey, the one criticism I have of The Villages is that we don't have good cultural food here. We have Peruvian if you're willing to drive. I have traveled to India I have lived in New York Montreal, Vancouver Seattle all over the world. This little gem in the same plaza where Sam St. John's used to be is incredible. If you've been to a well-known Indian restaurant on 200 in Ocala. Which is also excellent then you know the taste of this restaurant very difficult. Staff is friendly prices are about $20 an entrée, but it is absolutely worth it. I am incredibly pleased that we have something like this in our area. I'm gonna eat here every month or pick up because I want them to do well. Absolutely recommend the taste and quality of the food. Seriously 5 stars

Now before you read this review remember they have only been open 1 week. Still kinks to work out. Upon entering we greeted warmly. Small dining area could have a little more AC. Small bottle of room temperature water was given to us. Ordered Mago Lassi to drink this tasted well however would have appreciated it colder. Asked for ice but had to ask a second time. Mixed platter First lamb Seekha Kebab came out WAY over done but was quickly fixed however the next time it was cold in the center. Third time was a charm. Naan chilli garlic bread was served complementary due to our issues. Naan garlic bread All in all the flavors are wonderful. Plastic plates and silverware I didn't like made it hard to cut things. However within the next 2 weeks they will be getting real plates and silverware. Lunch buffet is $18.99 all you can eat from 10-3. Indoor and outdoor seating. Because of our issue with the kebab they took 50% off one meal. Very accommodating and will definitely be returning.

The atmosphere is beautiful and I always feel like I have walked into a different kind dining experience. It's relaxing and a lot nicer than many of the local restaurants around here. I feel that it has a quiet nuanced feel that is simply elegant. I ordered the Create your own course because I wanted more. I was in time for the lunch special that they serve Tuesday-Thursday from 11-3 but that wasn't what I was looking for. When coming here I just wanted to enjoy my idea of the meal I can create. The create your own course is just that and for $40.99 you receive an "appetizer, entree, dessert served with two sides, naan or tandoori roti and sauce. If you would like an additional entree and two sides it's only an additional $16.99. Extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive and how well the food is prepared and the service you get here. My favorite is the Chicken Vindaloo which is Chicken, chili, tomato and it has a little coconut in it. It's a spicy dish but a little tangy too. I love that the heat is flavorful and not overpowering that you cannot taste all the spices in the dish. The tandoori roti I enjoy thoroughly it pairs very well with this dish, I've had the Peshawari naan which is filled with cherries, coconut flakes, cashews and raisins and this is so different and delicious more of a dessert you must try too. I also had the chick pea salad and this is a mix of chick peas, lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes and cilantro. Nothing out of this world but refreshing. Last time I was here I had the Samosa Chaat for a starter it was so good! It's a potato turnover with chickpeas layered with chopped onions, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney, and so flavorful! The Dal soup is also very nice it's a smooth mild soup made with yellow split pea lentils, some ginger and just the right amount of garlic. So many choices here and I'll keep coming back so I can be sure to try everything in the menu at least a few times! I have had dessert and I really enjoyed this as well wanting to try something different than I can get in most restaurants so I tried the Gulab Jamun that is a deep fried dumpling soaked in a sweet syrup that is infused with rose water and coconut. I don't know what to expect but I absolutely loved this and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it might be it was very pleasant and a mild flavor but truly delicious! Other than the food , the service is always really nice here, it's just a very nice experience coming to Amrit you feel lot's of peace and tranquility while dining. Highly recommend visiting Amrit you will not be disappointed! Parking in the nearby free…read moregarage was perfect timing since many workers and patients of the nearby UF medical center had already left for the day. Only one other couple was dining in, and there were a lot of take out orders being picked up. The place was well-lit, clean, and had ample space. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Scout was our waitress and Deepak was the host. Menu has all the Indian cuisine staples that we expected - we ordered 3 orders of garlic naan, fried rice with veggies and egg, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi (potato & cauliflower side dish ) - all with medium spiciness - with mango lassi and masala Chai tea for drinks. While waiting for our orders, we washed our hands and the single-occupancy restrooms were clean and stocked. The only downside to the facilities in general are the slightly hard chairs / benches as these were possibly made with the intention of not spending too much time in the restaurant or for people with more natural padding in that area . The naan arrived about 10 minutes later, followed by the rest of the food. The naan was excellent - just the way we like it (not too soft, not too crunchy, with enough garlic oil for taste). The basmati rice was cooked just right in the individual bowls and also in the generous portion of the fried rice. It was my first time trying the aloo gobi, and I loved it! I never knew about this dish, and my husband said it was a must try. I also tasted his chicken tikka masala, and it was also made deliciously. The drinks were also great - mango lassi was fresh and not too sweet. Masala Chai tea was exactly how I imagined it would be. Overall, we spent around 1 hour and about $100 on our date here, including generous tip. We are glad to be repeat customers to try more dishes, and of course, enjoy more garlic naan .

This place came highly recommended, so we decided to stop for lunch around 1230 pm on a weekday. They were empty. We were greeted by a very friendly man with a mustache who seated us quickly and brought cold water to our table. They had the buffet which my daughter ordered. I opted to order off of the menu and got medium spice chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The buffet had a variety of chicken, lamb, and lentil dishes. Her chicken dishes looked fantastic-fresh, white meant chicken chunks. Her lentil and potatoes looked dry but her only complaint was that they were bland for her taste. In fairness, she likes spicy dishes. I am very picky about my protein so take my next sentence with that in mind, if you are also picky: My chicken vindaloo was all potatoes with 3-4 pieces of dark meat chicken held together by fat and gristle. The chicken was inedible. The sauce was too thick-I have eaten vindaloo many many places and never had it look like this in my life. It was clumpy. The basmati rice it came with was fine. The garlic naan I ordered and the butter naan (came with the buffet) were both so soaked in butter that the naan was immediately soggy and not at all good. I think that the key to this place is to order off the buffet during lunch. Indeed, the man who seated us appeared to "highly suggest" the buffet and seemed nonplussed when I requested the menu. We were so disappointed in this place and will not return.

We ordered the chicken saag (saagwala), chicken curry, cheese naan, onion kulcha, and samosas. The chicken saag was a little different than other saags I've had, and it wasn't as herbaceous as I expected. I ordered it mild and it had no spice at all, which was fine with me. The chicken curry was good as well, it was very tomatoey with a slightly smoky flavor. I ordered that one medium expecting a little heat, but there wasn't really any spice, which was a bit disappointing. In both chicken dishes, some of the pieces of chicken were a little overcooked and slightly dry, but the sauces themselves were still flavorful. Both dishes came with rice, which was a little bland on its own but worked well once you mixed it with the sauces. The onion kulcha was definitely a highlight. It was soft and had a ton of onion baked right into the dough, which I loved. The cheese naan was fine, not bad, but not particularly memorable either. The samosas were also really good. The filling was flavorful and they were perfectly fried. They came with two sauces: a green sauce that tasted really fresh and herby with a nice kick, and a sweeter brown sauce (I think tamarind) that was a little sweeter than I personally prefer. Portion sizes were okay but not huge, and the overall price felt a little on the higher side for the amount of food. That said, I'd still come back to try some other dishes, and I would definitely order the onion kulcha again
