ordered steak quesadillas, got home and there was only sliced steak pieces with rice and sour cream on the side, no steak inside a tortilla, no tortilla in the to-go container to even build my own. called to see what the issue was and was told that they were out of flour tortillas and just decided this was acceptable, instead of informing at time of pickup or prior, when ordering. only other option was corn tortillas and when asked if the meals could be substituted with something else, was told that we would be charged again because it was a different meal despite that they made us drive all the way back and didn't even say anything about being out of flour tortillas to begin with and our order being wrong. horrible service. won't be returning read more

It's unfortunate. I've heard good things about this place. I decided to go there for the *advertised* Taco Tuesday to celebrate a birthday. Was told that wasn't happening, EVEN THOUGH THEY JUST POSTED ABOUT IT HAPPENING MINUTES EARLIER. The food and drinks were overpriced. Service was good, not great. Atmosphere was lacking, but it was a Tuesday (just not a Taco Tuesday, I guess)... Maybe their advertising would be more accurate if not managed by a 10 year old sitting at the bar, but let's be honest, it probably wouldn't be any better. I don't plan on coming back here outside of the club hours. Just not worth it and really just better and more reasonable options for good Latin cuisine elsewhere. To be fair in my review I shall be as detailed and accurate as possible. We shall review the entire experince from parking to leaving. Ready? They share a parking lot with the pawn shop next door. Doesn't speak well of the location, but that isn't a big deal. I parked in front, but there is parking out back. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly hostess and a scent that I found unpleasant. I couldn't put my finger on it, but since it wasn't making me Ill I went to my table. As I sat at my table I looked around the room. The environment was 1970s Vegas Lounge meets an odd cabana thing meets 195Os Marilyn Monroe mural meets that unfinished look. I have no idea what they are going for, but when you try to be everything, obtain nothing, you get this place The Tv's were showing UFC and baseball. The radio was playing music in between a cooking show. Again, made no sense, created no atmosphere but worked well in their WTF is going on environment. The menu had a full slate of Mexican foods. I ordered the 4 sauce barbacoa burrito. As I waited I was served freshly made nacho chips and salsa. The chips were oil free, baked perfect with great crunch and flavor. The salsa was nice, light with a pleasant flavor. Now, when my entre arrived it looked, well, not appitizing. Seemed like a foot long stuffed burrito with horrific multi green colored sauce. It didn't smell any better than it looked. Yet in hopes of it just being authentic Mexican, using a combo of spices I haven't had before, I dug in. Sadly, each bite was worse than the one before. Again, not wanting to be that customer, with the aide of 3 glasses of water and a non-alcoholic beer , I ate a bit more than half of this disaster. Throughout the meal the staff was great. Attentive, kind, and prompt. Turns out the person that took my order was also inaccurate. When I was presented my check I noticed that a guacamole burrito and not the 4 sauce burrito I ordered was on the reciept. Seems the 4 shades of green I saw on my plate was the guacamole . The server asked me how I liked everything. I mentioned the confusion with check vs order. I was than asked if I didn't like the burrito. I was honest and told her it was very not good. She apologized and than told me that it shouldn't have been served ; they were having guacamole issues and it seemed that it had "turned". Yeah it did. The rancid mess that left a vile after taste in my mouth was bad guacamole. She discounted the meal, took off $6. On my way out they did say my next meal was on them. A nice gesture but without taking any contact infornation its an offer that can't really be utilized . The food they serve could be great, I had 1 item out of 40 or more items. What I had was disgusting and never should have been plated or served . The staff was great. The chips great. The prices fair. The atmosphere a mash up of who knows, the environment was perplexing, the parking not ideal and the location suspect. Would I go back? Good question that I have no answer for at this time. On the plus, I did stop on my ride home for 2 scoops of ice cream to remove the after taste from my mouth; worked like a charm. read more

Not very busy so can't say they were short staffed. Arrived for happy hour/lunch around 2. The value was not bad (except that we were overcharged). They did try to correct their overcharge by offering us two drinks, but the first drinks were mostly a mix minus the alcohol and since our only choice was to be offered two more drinks we thought that maybe they would be better- - - - - - nope, and these were served in pilsner glasses. The limes on the rim were so dried out they must have been from the night before. They do bring chips to the table but I kid you not, there were 15 chips in the basket. I know you are probably wondering why I counted them but I was so shocked, I felt like I needed an accurate count. It's really a shame because the restaurant itself is really cute, but the food doesn't look anything like this pictures. I also need to say that this was not my first visit here. I thought that maybe my first visit was a one off. It was not. Every bit of a horrible experience as the first. Try down the street if you want authentic. read more

I went for lunch as a friend of mine said they had the best tacos in Sarasota. I ordered 2 hard shell tacos with rice and refried beans and I have to say the food was excellent! The hard taco shells had a very nice crunch to them. The filling can be pastor, ground beef or chicken . I think there was also shredded pork. The service was excellent and I didn't wait long before the food came out. I will definitely be back for more! Maybe an enchilada next time. read more

The piña colada was delicious and so were the burea tacos there's not very many people that do those locally so this is one place that does them and do a very good job. We also had some cheese dish as an appetizer but I forgot what it was but it was very good the waiter was very kind and informative and there was not too many people inside I also used a coupon from restaurant.com that they honored for $15 off of my meal. They also offered me a free margarita with the yelp app however I was already drinking a piña colada and I had to drive so I did not want to have another drink. Clean. Quick personable staff. Full bar. Filtered water! I love that. Nothing worse than drinking chlorinated city water. Ordered the shrimp cocktail that came with the crispy saltines you can only get in Mexican grocery stores. The cocktail had plenty of large fresh shrimp and beautiful green avacado. It had just the right amount of spice. One of my favorites. For dinner we got the tacos they are famous for. It comes with a dipping sauce. The mixed meat was the best out of the three but you couldn't go wrong with any of them. They have street tacos and a Tex-mex version if that's what you like as well. They are open 6 days a week. Went for the second time on May 5. I knew it was going to be busy and was fully prepared for it. I'll say the food is pretty good. I had 4 tacos with a small consome. This was the second time having the margarona. It has a nice presentation, but it tasted like straight beer... no Margarita flavor to it. They had an ice slush in it but no flavor to it. No worries, I don't mind beer. Service was great given how busy it was. My complaint is with our last interaction. We noticed that we were charged higher than everything on the menu. No big deal. We'll tell the waitress. Well apparently they were old menus. No one told us. We had a few back and forth comments and it ended in "well you ate the food". I don't understand how we could possibly know the prices and be expected to pay it when they give us an old menu. I'm talking over a 10% difference. They didn't tell us the prices were changed. I asked if she could honor the menu prices or discount it. When she denied this I asked to talk to the manager. She said she was the owner (she was mid-20s so guessing it was maybe the parents restaurant). With not much choice we paid the bill. She did not give us a receipt to sign to see what she charged. Heck, we couldn't even tip if we wanted to bc she didn't give us copies. After confirming the charges on our bank app, we left. There's too many other places to dine in Sarasota to be treated like that. Do not blame the consumers bc they call you out on prices. If you want to charge higher rates than that's ok, but spend the money and distribute updated menus. read more

I have lived in the SWF area for 8 years from the Colorado/New Mexico region. My Daughter and I have been searching for this very place!! As we approached the entrance the Aromas were a warm welcoming, after we stepped through the door , I told my kid we're home :). It was 2:00 Sunday afternoon and quite steady. I came in on Wednesday three girl walked right pass me and didn't say a world while I stood at the counter. A bartender walked pass too and helped out three customers at the bar. He didn't say anything either. I stood for 5 minutes until the guy asked if I had ordered already. He gave me a menu and never returned. 10 minutes there and the service wasn't friendly at all. A doordasher stood next to me and said he had been waiting for a long time for his food. I left out frustrated and he followed me. One of the girls rushed out behind him and tried to give him the food, he declined and left. I wanted to try you guys' tacos because they look great! I have really enjoyed this restaurant several times. When I went in for dinner tonight about 5:30 p.m. it was not crowded and we sat down. Our server was nice and brought chips and salsa. There was major construction going on upstairs--loud and deafening power tools at the restaurant. The noise was so intrusive that I couldn't hear the person I was dining with because of the noise and loud music. I asked if it was possible to have construction stop during our dining, so the server asked a woman in charge and she indicated that they needed to finish the job and refused to stop the noise. That is NOT the way we wanted to dine. How shameful that paying customers should have to endure this kind of thing. We walked out and felt very disrespected. This is not the way to run a good restaurant!!! Very disappointed!! P.S. This kind work should take place during non operating hours. read more
