Came here yesterday evening to hang out and listen to some live tunes, and we enjoyed ourselves! We managed to snag a spot right outside the brewery, which was convenient, and skipped the food truck parked right outside because we had already eaten :) We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and quickly realized from the numerous signs hanging up everywhere that we were supposed to order our drinks at one particular end of the bar. That being said, after I ordered a beer in the correct location, the bartender came to us for our next drinks, so I guess it's not a completely hard and fast rule. It's a pretty small place and there aren't really any food options other than some basic snacks and the food truck parked outside, but you can also bring in any outside food you like. The two beers I got were decent but not entirely my jam. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'd think about coming back if I was in Holly Springs again! read more

I'm always down to support women-owned businesses, especially in the world of craft beer. They've expanded their patio quite a bit since I was here a few years ago, complete with several fire pits, a good number of picnic tables, and sting lights, of course. Even better was they had a kids area set up away from the main patio! I wish more places would take their lead. There were at least 10 beers, different styles, to choose from so there is something for everyone. I opted for their strawberry lemonade slushy (non-alcoholic). There was also live music playing inside, and I think they have food trucks throughout the week. read more

I love the location of this brewery. The owners and staff are always great to talk to. My three favorite beers (in order) are the Yellow Haze IPA, Hob Lab-Experimental Hop IPA and Dirty Secret Coconut Stout. If it makes sense, I recommend signing up to become a tap club member. It's $40 ($30 each year for renewal) and there are a lot of perks. The one that I use most often is drinking from the tap club mug each visit. Tasty beers, comfy environment! The coconut stout was so yummy I took a can home with me. I wasn't as crazy about the pumpkin, but always have to try a pumpkin beer when in season. Inside is nice - lots of space, three TVs or so, and pretty well-lit. There's an outdoor seating area, as well, which I bet would be enjoyable on a nice day. The location was easy to find and the beer menu easy to read. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return at some point. read more

The indoor seating area is spacious and has a few TVs, but it's not so invasive as to impede good conversation with your partner or mates. The outdoor seating area includes several picnic tables, a covered soft seating area, a fire pit, cornhole and a small, basic play place for children. It's great for families and furry friends! We recently hosted an event at Bombshell, and the staff went above and beyond to make it run flawlessly. Everyone was extremely nice and attentive, and the space was perfect! It was rainy so we opted to stay indoors, and we had a comfortable, fun space to socialize, sit, and congregate - plus the large window brought in so much natural light. We have bought so many bombshell beers in the past 4 months. The coconut stout is superb. The flavors are delicate, strong and smooth at the same time. Delicate with coconut, strong as stout-sweet and great head. The hibiscus peach tripel is beautiful. I'm actually not even a Tripel person but they've nailed it. A great new addition to our booming craft brewery scene here in the Triangle. I stopped by for a quick visit this week for a Business & Beer meet-up. The establishment is pretty easy to find, it's in a building at an industrial park right off of 55 in Holly Springs. The space is great more of a warehouse kind of feel with the tanks in the back and a large bar with plenty of space to stand around and mix and mingle. They keep a popcorn machine in the back and people were definitely munching away. I met the family and head brewer that runs Bombshell they were all very friendly and deeply dedicated to the brewery and the beers they make. I was impressed by all the different styles that they brew. I started off with an Oatmeal stout I believe and it was very tasty. I then asked for the brewers choice of beer not sure what he gave me it was dark a little sweet and yummy as well. I bought a Groupon awhile back so I look forward to coming here soon and taking the tour to learn more about the brewery. They have restaurants nearby that you can call and order food to the tap room. There was a food truck out this night but not sure if they do that on a regular basis or not yet. Found out that my friend Bud and his band were playing last weekend. He and Kim had not met my new bride. The live music was great and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The only negative is that their wine is a bit pricey. Eighteen bucks for 2 glasses. No food, but there is usually a food truck out in the parking lot. So if you get hungry while drinking, there is limited food. Suggestion: eat before you go! read more

Stopped in to Bombshell for a drink on a Saturday afternoon. The brewery is located in an industrial warehouse with the taproom and seating separated from where all the action and creation goes down. The taproom is fairly small with a garage door that looks like it goes up on warm days. They've got a pile of boardgames and maybe 10 high top tables seating 2-6 people each, along with a dozen or so bar seats. You'll find a good selection of Bombshell's own beer on tap, they had eight different brews on our visit, and you can buy a flight (of all eight) for $10. They also had $3 pints of the their Audition #2 IPA, good beer and a great deal when most of their beers cost $5/pint. You can sign up for a FREE tour online (about 35 minutes) on Friday's at 6:30p or Saturday's at 2:30 or 4:00p. The tour is free, but you'll have to pay for your own drinks. Overall, Bombshell gives off a very chill and family/pet friendly atmosphere. You won't find anything fancy here, nothing visually stunning or modern about this brewery, it's exactly what you'd expect from a brewery located in Holly Springs, giving off a small city, country feel. If you're in the area, it can make for a fun stop, I think especially if you're with a group. However, I wouldn't put this on your must visit road trip brewery list. But P.S. They offer free popcorn and often have food trucks in the area. read more

Bombshell has had some turnover in recent years causing some inconsistencies in their product. They now seem to have the right brewmaster on staff. We really enjoyed the Coconut stout and Merry Berry Tripel. Hopefully the have now worked out all the kinks and continue to offer high quality beers. read more

This brewery is one of the best things to happen to Holly Springs. The beer selection is always top notch and constantly in flux and the staff is the best around. This brewery is also socially conscience with their fundraising outreach by sponsoring charities and individuals who are in need. They also enlist local food trucks so you can eat good food and and local bands so you can enjoy talented musicians. Do yourself a favor and visit this establishment. I'm very indifferent about this brewery. I want to love it because it's owned by women fulfilling their dream. Who doesn't want to support women ?! I know I do! ....but when I go and stand at the bar and see the owners go to the same area of the bar to ask if people need help instead of pay attention and notice that some people have been patiently waiting 10, 15 minutes after a brew tour to BUY their beer... it's frustrating. There is another brewery VERY close by that offers FREE tours with beer every Saturday and I haven't waited in line 15 minutes for their beer? The beer itself is pretty on point. While I am a wheat, porter, ale type I haven't tried the IPA's but my husband is a fan of them. The space is pretty nice. While it doesn't (as of our early May visit) have AC, they did decide to open up their loading dock area and place picnic tables outside. There is usually a food truck there on popular nights and there is always popcorn for free at the brewery. I can only hope that the owners and bartenders learn to service the bar better. If I wanted to stand at a bar for 15 minutes, I would gladly go to downtown Raleigh.... but that isn't the scene I'm going for when I go to a brewery in Holly Springs. read more

Maybe I'm biased because I live about a quarter mile from this place, but it is one of my favorite bars in the area. I find their beers to be more drinkable than other breweries, as Bombshell sticks to the usual types of beer. That's not to say they don't experiment, because they do, and it's always a hit when they come out with something funky like their coconut stout (which is amazing!). They allow dogs inside, in fact the one owner/bartender usually brings hers. Amazingly all the dogs that have been there when I've gone have been really well behaved. There is a nice outdoor area with cornhole, and they oftentimes have really good food trucks parked out front. Bombshell is definitely a wonderful addition to this area! read more

Good beer, lousy service Went with a group of 5 on a Saturday night and it was not that crowded so service shouldn't have been a problem. Were looking forward to the announced food truck which didn't show, so we had to order delivery pizza. Things started well...waitress explained the beer flights and we ordered two of those to share, then we ordered our beers of choice. After that, she pretty much disappeared. Did her shift end??? No one came back. Ever. Had to beg an owner to come over and she obviously didn't want to. Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you wanted my business. Silly me. I was pleasantly surprised with Bombshell Beer Company on a recent visit here with my husband, dad, sister and sister's boyfriend. We came to Bombshell on a Saturday afternoon. It was not very crowded, so we ended up doing the tour at 2 PM. The tour was pretty short, informal and the woman leading the tour left plenty of time for questions along the way. I also enjoyed the fact that our tour group was a small group, I have been on plenty of brewery tours where I have trouble hearing because of the size of the group. While at Bombshell, I also tried two of their beers, the Russian Imperial Stout and the Dunkelweizen. I really loved both of them and I am not sure I could pick a favorite out of the two. The other members of my group all thought the Dunkel was the best out of the different types we tried, but no one tried one that they didn't like. Beers are reasonably priced, around $4-$5 per pint. They also have a free popcorn machine so you can have a snack while you are hanging out in the taproom. I was impressed with Bombshell, and if it was a little closer to my house, I could see myself coming here more frequently. Due to the location, it will have to be an occasional spot for me but I would not hesitate to recommend this as a cool brewery to check out in the Triangle area! read more

Holly Springs locals recommended this place to me so my hubby and I did a date night there last night. It was a Saturday night so it was busy. We got there around 8pm and enjoyed a GREAT Philly cheesesteak from the food truck. Grabbed the only table that was empty. I sampled the coconut stout. I'm a huge fan of stout normally but the coconut was not for me. The finish was also a bit too bitter even for this stout fan. I waited for more service but realized the 3 gals were running as fast as they could. I noticed signs that said please order at the bar so I got up and asked for a Porter. Waited behind 2 people and got it at a reasonable time. The porter was more to my liking. They don't have a red yet but I look forward to when they do. The beer was good. Not quite the smooth finish I like but very drinkable. I liked the decor. The people hanging out were cool. Ages ranged from young adults to finely aged older people. A table of friends were playing cards and my husband mingled with them. A fantastic lady came by with a lovely dog and shared my table. It was a great conversation. So my review and observation is this: If you are looking for a bar that waits on you like Tyler's Tap Room, this place will disappoint you. If you are looking for a cool local place with yummy food trucks and a relaxed atmosphere this is more like it. The free fresh popcorn is a great plus, they have sodas for Designated Drivers - my hubby appreciated being able to buy Sprite. =) Dogs are welcome. You can hang out with your friends and listen to free live music which I totally enjoyed. You can go outside and play that silly corn hole game if you like it. (sorry not a fan). There's a lot here to enjoy. Con: Not much parking as the neighboring businesses are being not very neighborly and banning parking there. Too bad as it is night and no one is using it. Great name. Cool logo. Decent location. Disappointingly bad beer. I really love my beer, friends. I'm open to all types apart from cruddy mass commercial. I moved to Raleigh from the heart of Colorado, a land of some of the country's best breweries. I've popped around to a number of breweries across North Carolina. And I just can't get past how subpar this beer is. Seriously, there is so much better in the larger area. I started with a flight, prepared to fall in love and start some heavy drinking that afternoon. But I couldn't muster the intestinal fortitude to make it through all the samples. The worst of the bunch was the Strawberries + Cream Summer Ale. Bleh. Even now, I feel gross just thinking about the weird, artificial aftertaste. I was underwhelmed by the staff behind the bar. As others noted, it took way too long to be acknowledged. Ironically, I felt like men had an easier time getting the attention of staff to place an order, which seems counter to every bar ever. And this is doubly ironic given the place is owned by three female home brewers. (Aside: Hell yeah, I read the website!) I see the need for Holly Springs to have a family-friendly tap room, but it's a huge turnoff to folks like me who do their best drinking far from the whiney cries of young kids. But of note, I've added a star because I was drawn here for a local fundraiser. I respect this venue for working to be a positive force in the community - that's an asset. But if you're just in it for the beer, friends, wander elsewhere. read more

As any reader of my reviews can tell, I like beer. Good beer, not mass produced, tastes like colored water beer. Luckily, the R-D area has more than a couple of local breweries, and they all have their individual niche, style, and atmosphere. Bombshell has the fun fact of being one of, if not the only all female owned brewery in NC. What's kinda of funny is that I noticed it right away without even knowing that fact. It is a fun place, that looks like women designed and run it (really don't mean to be sexist, and I'll explain). The place is one of the cleaner breweries I've been to, it has a fun atmosphere, and it's decorated and designed real well. Doesn't even smell like a brewery. Which was great. Now there's the beers. I liked them, quite a bit. My favorite was the lemongrass pale ale. I was real confused on how lemon would work, but it was great for a 80+ degree summer day. I wanted to buy a growler real wicked bad, but it was a beer tour type day for us, and a growler in a car all day would be no bueno. Bombshell, you're a cool place, we'll be back. read more

Been in a couple times before, but never done the brewery tour (which I will get to shortly). So after enjoying the Cary Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ fest which by the way Bombshell was offering their Lemongrass and Pilsner we stopped by for a late night drink. We arrived a little after 11pm and never felt rushed at all. Very happy with the level of service and recent additions that have been made. Most important thing is expectations. With all the new breweries and tap rooms now popping up, you should have a clear understanding of what type of atmosphere you will be walking into. For me, Bombshell exceeds the competition. The tap room is very clean with a nice bar and the patio area is a nice addition. Little bit of something for everyone. Live music during the weekend and food trucks to snack on just makes this place a definite destination stop. Brew Tour - now having arrived so late at night, we had no expectation of being able to get a tour of the brewery, but one of the owners was there and was more than willing to take us back. We saw the system that is used for test batches (home brewers dream setup) and the entire setup...including the cold room where the kegging takes place. Very clean and impressive system. Their Brew Master from Philly knows what he is doing. Wow...long post. This place deserves your business and any previous reviews that have cited issues have clearly been addressed. read more

If I could give this place 10+ stars, I would. We came in today, Memorial Day. We are proud parents of 2 girls and they have honestly been in many breweries, but I always wonder how people will be. This is hands down one of the most family friendly, wonderful, welcoming places. Not just the staff, but the patrons as well. From the moment we walked in, we felt such a warm family-like atmosphere. The beers are great, don't get me wrong. Get the strawberry and the tripel. You will thank us later. BUT, there were two people there that just made our entire experience. First, we met Devin the brewmaster. He came right up to us and offered a spot to change our 1 year old daughter's diaper. I probably could have cried. It was just such a wonderful gesture. It's 90 degrees out and so much better then a hot car. He proceeded to tell us about the table in the back. We hadn't noticed it because honestly we were entertaining two children and savoring beers. The bar manager is infact a veteran. In the back was a table that was completely decorated to honor fellow servicemen that he served with that didn't make it home. The simple gesture of this table that actually had names written on it took our breath away. This table could have been left open for someone to sit and make money, but it was there to honor Herb and other service people that didn't make it home. This truly was one of the best things I have seen in all of my years of adventures. It gave me the opportunity to explain to our five year old what this day truly means. Bombshell, your beers are amazing, but your community outreach and the small things like honoring those that give all to run your business is what truly makes you special. Had a living social to here for their brewery tour. Their beer- great. The brewery tour- not as impressive. I was impressed with how many beers they have on tap and all were good. Get the flight so you can try a bunch and it was a great price. Their pints were also a great price only $4. Picnic tables in back are fun if it's nice out and they have corn hole. Negatives- brewery tour guide wasn't good at all- boring and pretty disorganized explanation of the process. I completely zoned out. You only get one free sample during the tour and they choose which one you get. Definitely check this place out but I don't recommend doing the tour. read more

Beer isn't bad, it's OK. I would have given it 4 stars but we waited 15+ minutes for the bartender to even look at us!! One of the owners was behind the bar with a couple other bartenders but they weren't paying attention to anyone who wasn't immediately in front of them. It got to the point we were about to leave. They served the same people multiple times before looking around the bar. My only suggestion: hire more bartenders when you know you are going to be busy. read more

We stopped by Bombshell last Saturday afternoon because they were hosting an adoption event for Peak Lab rescue. It was a good experience. Unlike many of the previous reviews, the service was friendly and fairly quick. I had a nice Pale Ale and enjoyed it. My wife liked the Pilsner although, I tried it and found it a bit too "citrusy" .
