Nice cafe! I came in to try some caneles bc a friend of mine told me I needed to try some and this location popped up as having some of the best ones. Caneles are not easily available where I live so I was excited. They were big and tasty. The rum ones were a bigger hit with me than the Earl grey. The chocolate almond croissant was tasty too. I'll have to come back next time I'm in town to try other things. read more

Generously upgrading 2.5 to 3. My sister was gifted a delivery of half a dozen assorted pastries from here by a friend living in the United States. Unfortunately, the delivery itself wound up as a poor service to start. My sister wasn't aware that the order had arrived and when the driver buzzed her unit, she could not understand what he was saying. He decided to leave the box wedged in the outer door, half outside the building. Given the fact this is food, and the fact that these are serious delicacies, the only saving grace was that he contacted the sender who then let my sister know she better go down and collect her delivery if she had any chance to enjoy it. How's that for the icing on these cakes before eating them? The pastries themselves overall look better than they taste. Of the 6 we had to sample, only half of them were tasty and even those had horrible tasting biscuits for bases. The prettiest one, a green, pistachio and rose flavoured creation, tasted like the colours used on them as soon as it hit my mouth and ruined what little good flavour it might have pulled off. There was a lemon meringue tart which my sister voted as the best tasting one. We had a s'mores type tart which had a very nice, rich chocolate filling with a bit of caramel to adhere to the biscuit base and the marshmallow was so unremarkable that I actually don't remember how it tasted. My favourite was the pretty and yummy chocolate mousse cake, which unfortunately also had a gross tasting chocolate biscuit base. The remaining pastries were a cookie tart which was neither particularly pretty nor tasty, and something that looked like a souffle or panettone and tasted like a cross between bread and fruitcake - way too dense and chewy to be panettone but the shape and flavouring making that the closest comparison I can make. The best part about that one was that we picked up a hint of rum flavour that you would expect in fruitcake. I might expect them not to taste stale in the eatery but really they shouldn't have been stale at all, delivery or no. They weren't fabulous tasting anyway and the poor delivery service to boot really was the proverbial icing on these cakes. The pretty presentation isn't enough to entice me to try them again. read more

This bakery has always been on my list to check out & i was not disappointed. Friendly staff and nice clean bakery. I went to visit at around 3pm and it looks like most of their bread sold out already. I still managed to get some goodies and i rebaked them in the next morning for breakfast. Pricer side however you pay for the quality and location of the bakery. Cardamom pastry was my least favorite as i am just not found of that spice. Otherwise everything else i got i really enjoyed. Recommend almond toast. read more

Decent, not amazing Croissant was a bit dense and chewy, not as flaky and layered as I would have preferred. I like the croissants at Rahier much better. Cinnamon babka lacked flavour, and was also fairly dense. Also, it's pretty expensive here. read more

This was my first time visiting the bakery! Upon entering, there's tables lined up along the left and a long glass display case on the right with the cashier to cash out at the end. They have baked goods and cakes nicely displayed in their case and it just smells super delicious inside. The staff are nice and friendly. The day I went, I wanted to pick up a cake, but because of the holiday, they were only available to those who pre-ordered in advance. Mental note made. I did see a couple of holiday logs on display and they looks really presentable. I'd love to return to try their cake next time. Since they didn't have cakes, I picked up a croissant to go. I'd seen a review of Bomou in BlogTO and it sure looked promising, so we decided to make the trek over on a recent sunny Saturday. The joint was pretty much empty when we walked in and everything looked delicious, but we finally settled on trying a few different things. You can't, as far as I'm concerned, go to a French bakery without eating a croissant of some sort, so we opted for the Pistachio Croissant. It's pretty good, although I was disappointed that it was so crusty and not buttery. The best thing about a croissant is the way it almost melts in your mouth, and this one didn't even come close to doing that. The filling was tasty, at least. We also got what BlogTO called their "signature mousse," the Shahzadeh ("pistachio Mousse, Raspberry and rosewater"), along with the Cube Du Chocolat mousse. Both concoctions are admittedly quite impressive in appearance - I guess they'd better be, since they cost $9 a piece - but in terms of flavor, I can't say I was especially blown away. They're good, don't get me wrong, but I was hoping for something that packed far more of a bold, unforgettable punch in terms of its flavors. I suppose I'd return to try some of their other offerings, but I can't say I'd be quick about it. read more

The bakery truly makes us feel like we went to France! We can tell each pastry was made with a lots of love and care. Each bite was extremely decadent, even the pistachio dessert had a very bold and aromatic pistachio flavour which is quite uncommon (we find most places have a light pistachio flavour). The prices are also very reasonable given the area and demographic of the location. Beautiful decadent desserts and looked too pretty to eat. Everything we tried was very rich. For my personal preference, I think things looked prettier than they tasted. I wouldn't be opposed to trying other things off their menu, though. read more

Croissants are mediocre. I drink lattes everyday. I have lived in South America and Europe so I believe I'm a good judge. The latte I had today actually gave me heartburn and I couldn't drink it. Latte and mini croissant - $10.85 Whoever is serving the lattes needs better training in prep. Not sure what coffee they are using but I will be spending my money elsewhere. Yeah so what can I say about this place - fresh pastries, recently opened, on Bayview, and yum. I went in for the first time during covid and there were two other people there - we just tried to respectfully keep a proper distance from each other while ordering at the counter and viewing the different pastry options. I ordered about $60 worth of pastries (don't judge me, it was a birthday but also no justification should be necessary for filling oneself up with deliciousness). The chocolate filled croissants were delish and well-stuffed, the butter croissants were also very well executed (the French part of me was secretly cheering) but the star of the show undoubtedly had to be the vanilla strawberry croissant - I cannot rave enough about this pastry - even my husband who doesn't care much for sweet things tried to steal all of mine - it is THAT good. Now that I've written this, I feel the need to go again as I'm developing another craving for those delicious pastries. Expect to see me around town post covid looking very round and well-nourished, and largely filled with vanilla strawberry croissants. YUM. read more

Tried the chocolate and pistachio croissants. Both were delicious. Very flaky and not too sweet. We also tried the latte which was very good. The inside of the bakery is really nice. The display counters are beautiful and clean, and they have a cute little patio at the front. Would definitely return to try more pastries ! read more

The canele are not fresh ones, the shells are soft, maybe baked at least a day before. And the taste are crappy..

I love sour dough bread and both their white and whole wheat versions of it are fabulous. I have not t! And the people who own it are so lovely to chat with. read more
