When asked why I would be charged that fee since I would be eating in, I was told the owner wouldn't let the staff remove the fee and they had to put it on. This cafe keeps being recommended to me here on Yelp so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Parking here is a bit sketch as there are limited spaces. I ordered the lunch combo with tofu banh mi, fries and rose berry milk tea. The milk tea came out first and what I can say is you can taste the rose and the strawberry however these two flavors are not the best when combined.- my meal came out within about 10 minutes, the fries were a surprise as they have some sort of sauce on them that tastes really good. I would have ordered extra sauce if I had know about it. The sandwich was good but it does tastes different than what my taste buds are accustomed to. 5.10.24 Since we moved close to College Station we have been searching for GOOD Banh mi sandwiches. I stopped in here, ordered a boba drink and some Banh mi sandwiches. 2 people were working when I arrived, no other customers were inside. My drink came out and I waited and waited for my sandwiches. I was wondering why the 2 workers were not making my sandwiches. I was very confused and it was taking a long time. After a 20 minute wait I found out that they do not make the sandwiches here...they make them next door. I drove home and my hubby and I ate our sandwich. The pork was not grilled. Not good. I did not like my bulgogi sandwich at all. The only part I liked was the pickled carrots. My drink was ok - the price on the menu was different than what I was charged. The quality of the food and service has dropped quite a bit. I had a to-go order. The guy at the counter charged me for a macaron ($1.50) and forgot to give it to me. I was halfway home when I realized that there was no macaron in the bag. Granted, they offered a refund when I called them and told them about the issue, but still, it shows bad service. Secondly, I had ordered a large Banh-Mi (the chargrilled pork one). It was, at best, meh. I have had it here a year or 2 ago and the banh-mi had been excellent. That's the reason why I went back to this place to try it again. However, the Banh-Mi wasn't even half as good as the one I had had the first time around. It was also missing ingredients (cilantro). He absolutely never says no to lots of really good Vietnamese beef. * * * That said - the tea is the star here. The approach here is non-sweet. You have to ask especially for them to add sugar. I like my bubble tea sweet - so I was regretful for about 8 1/2 seconds. Until I realized that the underlying tea in my bubble tea was really good. I got the black tea with milk. The black tea itself was the really superior stuff you typically only get in Chinese tea houses or at top of the line French tea shops. (Okay - it was not a $750 a cup darjeeling. But it was a very fine strong straight China black that is better than what I get at my H.E.B.) Altogether I was one happy camper. * * * Actually I was an even happier camper because I was not altogether. I hate dying of coronavirus. Even in a deserted College Station, Nam and Bon Appetea tend to draw crowds, which adds way too much suspense to my eating. I went at 4:30 in the afternoon. I wanted to love this adorable little tea house! There were some great things going on here. Unfortunately the execution on my particular drink left something to be desired. The good here was that the location is close to campus, the employees were really friendly, and the selection was great. They were also really fast!! The less good? I am a spoiled, spoiled human and I like my Matcha a certain way. I ordered a matcha milk tea without sweetener. Matcha is a tiny bit bitter, but the milk or half and half really cuts down on that and makes for a good, crunchy sort of drink. It tastes healthy and boosts my energy. The drink they made for me was a bitter mess and didn't taste primarily of matcha. It had a really solidly unpalatable taste of super bitter floral jasmine tea mixed with matcha and then poured over ice with a little milk as an after thought. Not a great mix. I ended up throwing 90% of it away after eating the ice. Not a huge win for $9 with tip. I might some back and try something else, but the matcha fell flat. read more

Mad decent Banh Mi place lol The boba was well-made as well. The Banh Mi bread is so crispy and airy here! The bread has the perfect amount of crisp to get the crunch and chew that when you bite into it, your mouth wouldn't hurt with the pieces of hard bread. I feel like they can use a little bit more mayonnaise to counter the airy-ness of the bread. They put way too big piece of jalapenos in the bread though so check before you get hit with a fire in your mouth. I got the special and that was a good typical combo for banh mi. Super tasty and highly recommend. The menu price is for the regular size banh mi and the large size is around $2 more but not sure. I tried the regular milk tea with boba and it was creamy and milky. You can taste that they soaked the boba with honey or syrup and so that was a plus. College Station has been hurting terribly for a good tea spot for years. Finally a place in a great location and with a nice interior exists. More importantly, this is my favorite milk tea I've tried anywhere! The tapioca is fantastic. They are super sweet here. Instead of being overly bland and soggy, they are chewy and taste like they are honey infused. My favorite is their Thai tea because they brew the tea so that it is flavorful and tastes fresh. It's the perfect balance of milkiness and tea flavor. Their menu is broad and you can customize any drink to your liking. We ordered a honeydew milk tea but as a slush and it was great. I am obsessed with the quality of the tea and order at least 3x a week. I haven't tried any food items so this review is based solely on the drinks I've tried. read more

Okay, this is not ~just~ another boba place. First off, their location near campus is totally enviable if you are a college student looking for a place to refresh, study, or hang out. Even if you're not a student (like me), it was conveniently located next to its sister store (Nam Cafe), which makes it the perfect dessert pit stop. Next, as far as the drinks go, their passion fruit green tea gave me life, especially with the perfectly sweetened boba added in. It was a wonderful post-lunch drink that was refreshing and light. There were maybe 3 people ahead of us and we waited about 10-15 minutes for our drinks and sandwiches. Drinks are on point. They make it just like you ask and I thought they used a pretty decent mix. Prices are about average for these. For the sandwiches, they can do just about whatever you want to them. Today, they only had the regular sizes, which was the right amount for me anyway. They do put plenty of meat in there so it sort of felt like it was skimpy on veggies. Bread is fresh and it tasted just fine. And they didn't slather on the mayo/butter like some other spots do. Prices for a sandwich are a bit higher than average. Otherwise, this is a great spot to get something to go. I bought a barbecue pork and a special, as well as a Black milk tea and a Thai milk tea. Price: cheap milk tea and average price of banh mi ranging 4.25-5.00! Very affordable. Building: clean, very cute and modern, excellent distance from school. Floors and tables were very clean. Staff: the staff and owner were lovely people and asked me how I liked the food, they seem to care about quality. Food: unfortunately I did not like this place very much. Their banh mi had good flavors and lots of potential but both my sandwiches were cold. Normally a pork banh mi comes on hot toasted bread, individual baguettes, sizzling (right off the grill) meat, and cold (very pickled) vegetables. I felt like there were not a lot of vegetables and my bread and meat was cold thus, not a very enjoyable sandwich. For those from Houston, this banh mi is comparable to Lee sandwiches. On a positive note I liked the pate and butter! There was lots of it, and it was a healthy portion sized sandwich. Drink: The Thai tea was okay but the black milk tea had zero milk in it, it was sweet brewed tea. I've had better boba places. It has pork belly, Vietnamese ham, shredded chicken, along with carrots, cucumbers, jalapeños, and cilantro. Can't say much about the boba but it was fine. I loved the atmosphere, cute cafe feel. Some people studying, some hanging out. Overall, this place kinda reminds me of Kim's Teahouse in the Houston area... I ordered the Thai Tea and got the Teriyaki chicken meatball banh mi (the delightfully bubbly cashier girl informed me the charbrioled beef not available). The Thai tea was served unshaken, a novelty which I actually quite enjoyed. But aesthetics aside, the taste was well balanced, not cloyingly sweet nor bitter but this tea was not as strong as I would have liked. The tapioca balls were great, their consistency was situated perfectly in that Goldilocks zone between waterlogged slime and jarring hardness. The banh mi was also a melange of fresh flavors and textures that are characteristic of Vietnamese cuisine. The slightly pickled carrots, crisp cucumbers, and herbacious cilantro provided a bite that complemented the savory (and somewhat sweet) meatballs. I also added a fried egg on mine to up the richness, (highly recommend that ish). Lastly the bagguette was freshly toasted, lending to a crusty exterior that is perfect for this type of sandwich.
