I have drank a lot of iced mochas and this is the Worst iced mocha I've ever had. Tastes like a watered down kuerig coffee.

The coffee was okay, but the service was not great. The lady taking our order was pretty rude, we were trying to order and she just was snarky and snapped back at us. Then I asked an older man with glasses where the bathroom was and he was just not kind. He asked me to repeat my question rudely lol. The coffee isn't worth a trip back in my opinion. read more

My mother got me out of the house on a rainy day and swore I would like the new What's the Buzz Specialty Coffee and Bakery. I remember 12 years ago sampling coffee from What's the Buzz at various places including farmer's markets and other coffee shops. It's awesome that they're now a fully established facility. Shoutout to Alex who took care of us from the moment we arrived! She was energetic for a 2 o'clock slump and had wonderful recommendations. I ordered a brown sugar shaken espresso to mirror something I love at Starbucks and it was delicious. My mother loved her dirty chai latte. The sandwiches reminded me of Norma's Shoppe in Ridgewood, NY. The star of the show was the choco-flan, something I don't think I will ever see again. There are only about 4 seating arrangements so this wouldn't be a great place to study but I do recommend it for its drive thru. Go see Alex! I will be back when I'm here in town. read more

I've twice recently stopped by their cafe on Texas Ave, trying a latte, cortado, and dirty chai. Unfortunately I find their espresso overly sour. Not undrinkable, but somewhat unpleasant. Also, their baristas were of mixed experience/ability, as one of them steamed milk very well while the other did so rather poorly. what a cute place!! i was getting my tire changed next door and went to grab a latte and was shocked that they had so many flavors i liked!! i decided on a blueberry oat milk latte, and when the barista asked if i was ok with 2 pumps of blueberry, thinking it was not going to be super strong, i said let's go with three. it was such a strong blueberry and she was absolutely right to say go with 2, and i should have!! but instead of having me walk away with a super sweet drink, she was so helpful and was able to make it less strong! 10/10 recommend the barista was amazing, and now i'm drinking one of the best blueberry lattes i have ever had! will return ! read more

It has something that I would describe as an effervescent quality, which is my absolute favorite thing in a coffee, and it is usually pretty hard to find. It seems special and unique. All of the coffee I have tried from What's the Buzz has been decent at best. Just because they are a top roaster in town shouldn't be reason to give them a pass when comparing them to other roasters state and nation wide. To be completely fair, some of the coffee I purchased from What's the Buzz was from HEB. It is consistently stale and sold WITHOUT A ROASTED BY DATE! Not a good sign! Some may say the coffee's state is entirely HEB's fault, but I choose to remember that WTB chooses to sell their coffee in HEB despite the damage it will do to their product quality, consistency, etc. As a business, their advertising could be better as well. They stick a logo on a corner of an instagram collage and call it a day. read more

Hearing the roaster chaffing the beans skin entices one to stay. Burlap coffee sacks covered walls tower over the counter. The sign scribbled in the back right corner blur in my vision. Fair-trade mexican chiapas, Ethiopian berry blend, and various other coffee regions reminds me the flavors of home. Fair-trade is always a delight and a better taste in my opinion. I asked for to see the Ethopian Blueberry, Yemeni coffee and Ethopian fair. The strong Yemen coffee stirred my taste to imagine it as a morning cup. I took 1/2 lb home. Freshly grind and at a reasonable price, this is the place to grab your fair-trade coffee. read more

Being a coffee lover means needing good coffee. What's The Buzz Coffee roasts in house every day and the results are phenomenal. The coffee is not burnt tasting like Starbucks because it is roasted daily. It makes a world of difference. Their coffee is the best. Don't get it confused though - this place is not a coffee shop where you sit down and have a cup of Joe. This is a roastery so the sole purpose of What's the Buzz is to roast great coffee beans. And they do! To make things even better, it is a little hole in the wall place. The business itself almost looks as if it is in a storage unit but there are a few rows of small businesses back in the same area. I love hidden treasures and my husband and I were incredibly happy to find this gem. The owner is from Guatemala (I believe) and he is incredibly personable and seems like a very caring person. You pay a little extra for the added convenience and exceptional service. I just returned from fetching two pounds of my favorite blends for the dozenth time, and like the many times before, everything was just perfect. There are grinders at the grocery store. Typically one for flavored and unflavored roasted bean. Unfortunately, when the burrs become misaligned, or used improperly, you end up with a pretty messed up final product. The machines are poorly maintained (if ever), it's honestly a great concept just not worth the added effort or time. I can pull up, get out of the car, get two separate grinds (I go with a grid fit for French Press), pay, and get back in the car in under 5 minutes (or stay a little longer and have a friendly conversation with the staff). This freshness and flavor can not be found anywhere else in BCS. A french press and a quick trip to What's the Buzz will have you brewing coffee that surpasses the quality of everything else you drink on a regular basis. read more

When I moved to College Station in 2010 I found myself unsatisfied with the quality of the coffee at the various brewed cafes around town. While I still have not found that cafe**, What's the Buzz roasts my absolute favorite coffee beans and have filled that void. They are incredibly full of flavor. My personal favorite is the Fair Trade/Organic Ethiopia Amaro. It tastes like chocolate. I also love the Ethiopia Yirgachefe cold brewed. The staff and owner are great people--very friendly and will happily answer any questions you may have. Do yourself a favor, and buy your beans here! **I have a personal dream that WTB will open a cafe one day, or they will contract out for someone to brew their killer beans in the way they deserve to be brewed. read more

Normally I drink Hawaiian coffee at T.G.I. Vaughn, Architect (until I find some Texas grown brews) but recently enjoyed one of WTBC's darker brews to find it quite delightful, a nice change of pace and certainly well deserving of local support, patronage. I applaud the quality and ... certainly it is as advertised - gives that wake up Buzz. I also applaud this shop's dedication to locals, for my introduction came via a neighbor schoolboy, selling their products as a fundraiser for band. The freshest coffee in the BCS. I met with the owner, Rodrigo, for a tour and learned a lot about the quality of coffee and their processes. My favorite so far is the Guatemala La Pastoria. This is a medium roast with citrus and chocolate tastes. I was blown away by how smooth this coffee tastes. Their price point is comparable to other specialty coffees. I currently have bought The Good Stuff Blend and Colombia Sierra Nevada and looking forward to enjoying great quality coffee. read more

You can come here and get coffee beans roasted within 24 hours of your visit and that is awesome. They have a various prices for different beans, but the cheapest ones are 12$/lb or 6.50 for a half pound. I've tried probably almost 10 different varieties from here and so far the papa new guinea is my favorite. Can be hard to locate as it is not terribly obvious, but it is like a street behind the BCS food market. You can find their beans at HEB, but I think the prices are a bit higher there and also they're not as freshly roasted unless you come direct. read more

They have fresh coffee, probably the freshest in town. And yes, - it's better to buy directly from them than at HEB - as it is same day fresh at the shop. I've tried several different flavors, - there were none that I disliked, and there were quite a few really good ones. But I have one problem with the shop itself: they are not flexible in their sales. I don't drink much coffee these days. So, I don't want to buy a large (is it 1 lb or 0.5 lb?) bag at HEB. I'd rather buy 1/4 lb. at a time or better yet a couple of different flavors, 1/8 lb each, so that I can have it fresh and not get wasted the rest. I'd rather come back soon for more fresh coffee. Unfortunately, they cannot have that, the best the allowed me to do is to go with two different flavors, at a half of their minimum weight each (and charged the price of the more expensive one of the two). The end result: I still have substantial quantity of unused beans. They are no longer fresh, so they are not as appealing anymore, but since I have them, I cannot justify going back and buying more. So, this shop doesn't have my business despite having nice coffee. The lack of understanding of what is good for a customer is a typical problem for businesses in this part of TX. read more

I was referred to this place by a good friend of mine. The location was a bit tough to find originally, but once there I was very pleased. The inside has a very cool, authentic feel. With the walls covered in genuine burlap coffee bags, and a fantastic aroma . All the coffees there were no more than 3 days old from roasting! A factor that truly makes a difference. The young man, Logan, was very knowledgeable about coffee. He was quick to give out samples, and offer a brief tour of where they roasted. After small discussion on my tastes, and what was freshest that day, he made his recommendations. Both coffees are absolutely delicious! I will be returning often. I have to agree with Leo's review: you truly have to appreciate the passion these guys have for their coffee. read more
