An old drive through looking spot turned into a specialty coffee shop with plenty of seating, Carport Coffee is a great spot for studying, enjoying a cup of coffee, or just chatting with friends. It is conveniently located right across the street from TAMU's campus so most patrons were walking up, but they also offer a very small parking lot. I got to try the Kyoto cold brew, which tasted like a geisha coffee to me due to its fruity and floral nature. This will be my go to coffee drink next time I am visiting someone in cstat and a very pleasant surprise after what was described to me as a "stronger cold brew". The staff is quiet nice and as helpful as they can be. Restrooms were clean and just from my observing their open kitchen, their granola looked amazing. read more

Stopped by Carport during a little weekend in college station and I was pleasantly surprised!! We ordered the kyoto cold brew and an iced aussie latte. Both drinks had really good flavors that impressed me. The kyoto tasted like a geisha coffee with vibrant floral notes. The iced aussie had a nice mix of lavender and oat milk that blended smoothly with the espresso. Excited to have found this gem in college station. It is also so close to campus and easily accessible for students. The service was quick and nice and there was enough seating inside to get work done. I absolutely love Carport Coffee! Funnily enough I am not a huge coffee drinker (LOL), but I like the vibe and the Chai Latte is great too. Given its closeness to campus and St. Mary's, I always schedule coffee chats with my friends here! There is plenty of outdoor seating and I really like sitting on the benches especially on cool, breezy days. My parents came to visit me over the weekend and we decided to get some late afternoon coffee. I mentioned that this café seems pretty popular in the Northgate area, and we were open to trying something new. Typically, I do not like to leave poor reviews especially for local businesses because I know it can be pretty hard to make an earning running any type of restaurant, my parents both opted for the Cappuccino with low fat milk while I ordered the Americano. We all agreed that the coffee quality was phenomenal and had a "fruity" note, so if you are a fan of coffee more on sweet end of flavor this place might be for you. However, after having the drinks both of my parents ended up ill afterwards, and the only conclusion we could make was either they used the wrong milk (such as whole milk) or the milk used in the drinks was spoiled. I did not get sick, but I am hesitant on recommending this place to others especially with what happened to my family. The baristas were kind, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was cheery with positive music playing in the background for students who were studying. I may or may not give this place a second chance, but please be cognizant on the milk they use in this place. read more

Today, I ordered breakfast tacos and a coffee. They told my friend behind me that it was going to be a little bit of a wait, but I understood. My friends and I sat down and waited for 45 MINUTES and I watched the workers make food for themselves before serving us. I watched them all sit down and play on their phones and make their own food BEFORE ours. WE PAID for this food. RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! We also asked them to scramble our eggs and they couldn't even do that. Our bacon was under cooked as well. I'd like to add that it wasn't even crowded and their was no one in front of us. Went here for a morning tea, and it was super relaxing. I order the Iced Earl Grey Tea w/ honey and it was delicious. Parking is tight at this popular spot. Service is personal, some might say it's a bit slow. My choice yesterday was the John Wayne, a drip coffee w a shot of espresso. It had good flavor and I would order it again. There is a good variety of hot/cold espresso, coffee and tea drinks. It was crowded on a Saturday morning at 10, so I chose a seat out front in the warm sun. The food they were preparing to order smelled wonderfully and looked very good. I'm a bit of a coffee (and beer) snob nowadays and this place meets my basic standards- WiFi, seating, and decent lattes. If you're looking to WFH, know it's mainly college students so it may not be the quietest place for a meeting. While a few things annoyed me, among the most annoying parts of the whole experience was one loud barista. He casually sat on the back counter the entire time while 2 female baristas worked the counter, yelling bye at friends, talking to the other baristas, you name it. They finally opened. Just across the street from campus. Very convenient location. The shop is cute and tidy, not big, not too loud, not too busy. Good for study alone or some quick break. I would not suggest coming as big group. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. They have some basic pastries, like muffins, as well as coffee beans and coffee mugs to sell. Excellent little coffee shop! Smaller menu...everything is excellent and every item is made from scratch. Drinks here are unique and the flavor profiles are a perfect blend. Marilyn and Fog are favorites. Young woman running the front end and barista duties is a magician and she has mastered her craft. Breakfast items are also excellent and again all made from scratch. Service is top notch. Seating is intimate, with tables, a short bar inside, and tables and benches outside. Ahh Carport. After one visit, I'm hooked. Carport is an ADORABLE coffee shop in downtown College Station. I had driven past Carport several times before today and finally caved. There is parking around the building and includes a drive-through for convenience! I walked in and LOVED the interior. Carport has a modern, cozy coffee shop vibe that made me wish I had brought my laptop to sit for awhile. The baristas were extremely helpful in explaining the menu items to me. He even pulled out this amazing tea display for us to smell/sample before we made a decision! I got a Cold Brew (16oz) and my boyfriend ordered an Iced Smoked Almond Tea (also 16oz). We then went outside to sit on the patio, which seems to be the norm for this cafe. There is an adorable covered patio outside with picnic-style seating. There were 6 or 7 other people sitting around us, making it an enjoyable environment. Overall, I will definitely be back to Carport. The coffee was fantastic and the service and atmosphere were even better. 10/10 recommend! read more

If you need WiFi. This isn't your place. It's my second time to arrive and not be able to work. If you aren't coming to work, not a problem. I love their coffee and tacos, but need reliable internet. I even checked before I ordered coffee. It showed bars but once I tried websites it didn't work. The guy said it's been out for a few days. Why not put up a sign they don't have WiFi? I asked for gift card since I'll be throwing out my coffee on my way to Harvest. He couldn't do it. Said he would remember me. Right!?!? I'm disappointed in the service. Deducted a star because every time I go in there I feel like I'm being watched and judged by some unknown but menacing force. Anyways this place is pretty great. Coffee is pretty acidic but that's alright with me and plus the flavored drinks are tasty especially when the paper straws are dissolving in your mouth and you get that hint of woodiness that makes you feel closer to nature. I've seen every popular A&M-based indie band patronize this establishment, Montclair, Rococo Disco, you name it. When it comes to food, this place cleanses my soul. The blueberry muffins are dreamlike in appearance and flavor and make me question reality. The egg sandwich tastes like the cook made it with all the love they could possibly give.
