The fried chicken was crispy on the outside juicy and flavorful on the inside. The gumbo was so good! The red beans were good. The Mac and cheese, the fried catfish, the etoufee needed a little salt but was good, the shrimp cocktail, the fried okra; etc. That was a first in a long time. The staff was so courteous and actually working versus standing around with the hotline turned up high drying out the food. Mostly Hispanics behind the serving line and they were amazing! The wait staff was on point. The bread pudding is the only dessert I had and omg! It was amazing! I went back on yesterday asking for more. Great job getting new people that actually want to work. We were visiting Lafayette the day and went to BonTemps on a recommendation or a local. It was one of the more delightful dining experiences I have had in a while. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. At one point the manager came over to apologize for the delay on getting the food, which we had even worried about because my two friends and I where enjoying the interaction with our two servers and having a good conversation between friends. He offered us some free appetizers, which we really did think was necessary, but was glad to accept a couple. Great food, great staff and manager, you should try it out read more

This review is about the all you can eat king crab special. I love king crabs so we've been going once a week for a few months. Sometimes the crabs are great and sometimes they're not. When they first opened Bon Temps it was great! Sadly there's been an ownership change since then and it's gone steadily down hill. It's clean, the staff bustles about but the quality of the food has gone from wonderful to, well, junk. It's hotel food now. The kind of stuff you would expect from Golden Corral or Piccadilly. You can eat all you want, but at $30 a head you have to eat a lot to get your money's worth. With covid now they plate it up for you like a cafeteria. I've never liked that but it's safer. I had red beans and rice. I had crawfish etouffee, some spaghetti and some mashed potatoes. The saving grace here is desert, really really good gelato!! I like that. UPDATE I went for lunch today and Oh My has this place gone down in quality and service. I'm not sure what has happened but the food wasn't good and nothing was fresh. The service was horrible, I waited over 10 minutes for my waitress to surface then another 5 minutes for her to bring my iced tea. She was truly the worst waitress ever after she brought my tea I never saw her again the whole time I was there, good thing you pay before you eat or I'd still be waiting on here to get the ticket. We were surprised to find the casino buffet open for Thanksgiving dinner, just what we were looking for this year. We showed about 40 minutes after opening and waited in line for about 30 minutes as they filled most of the seating ahead of us. We ended up in some taller chair tables, plenty comfortable. We enjoyed all the different stations and selections, with lots of variety, along with traditional thanksgiving fair to make it a great meal. Today we dined at the brunch buffet as we normally do . We and other members witnessed a man filling his to go container at the buffet . After filling his containers he then proceeded to fill up three plastic grocery bags of ribs and chicken breast leaving nothing for the patrons that were standing in line behind him . One of the best casino buffets in the area. We usually go on seafood nights (Friday's). The price is getting a little steep (36 a person) if you don't use rewards from the casino but in all worth it for the amount and variety of food you get. The snow crab are usually very good until they start running out. Then they become hard to peel bc they were cooked so fast. The serve cold boiled shrimp which is not that impressive. When crawfish come out on the buffet they are usually really spicy and mostly cooked just right. There's a little bit of something for everyone. They servers are usually pretty nice even when busy. I went to the L'Auberge Casino just to try their morning buffet. It cost around $33 for me and my mother to eat there. Behind the buffet the cooks will cook you fresh pancakes, waffles , French toast, and either an omelet or an egg white omelet. On the buffet itself you can get fruit, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, grits, toast, potatoes..etc. There was nothing on the buffet that made me go "wow, this is worth $15". So I believe the buffet is a little overpriced considering you can pretty much get the same food at golden corral for cheaper. I've been to this buffet before but it was awhile ago. I saw they were doing a Cajun tailgate theme night for the dinner and figured it was worth trying. For $29 per person (including a drink), I wasn't very impressed with the selection or quality. A lot of the food was room temp or cold and the flavor/variety was subpar for a popular casino buffet. I also noticed a pungent seafood smell when I walked in, and the staff told me they didn't have much seafood out. I eventually saw the "bbq shrimp" and decided to give it a go. However the moment that shrimp touch my lips I knew something wasn't right. I'm not sure if the kitchen didn't know they were bad but those shrimp should not have been out for consumption. I've been when the food has been cooked perfectly and seasoned well and a real treat and I've also been when the food had no flavor and was over-cooked or dry. It's not a good visit when the best thing I had was the broccoli. My baked chicken was very dry and had no seasoning. My grilled pork chop was undercooked and also unseasoned. The green beans were uncomfortably salty. However, my waitress Sonja-Lieu was undoubtedly the BEST server I've ever had while dining there! The inconsistency of the experiences I've had will not keep me from coming again, but I wouldn't recommend paying the full price. If you get a coupon or comped then, it's worth it. High end casinos typically feature equally quality dining options, except in this case with L'Auberge. It is far and away the nicest casino in these parts, which is why my expectationsfor this buffet were higher than most. Considering how seafood and gluttony are two things Louisiana does well, it was a shame "Bon Temps" was nothing close to a "good time." Full disclosure, I was slightly inebriated at the beginning and thought the idea of a $30 seafood buffet in Baton Rouge at a casino would be a great idea. My companions and I weren't just starving but we had earned enough points to merit a comp'd meal at the buffet. Nothing was outstanding and everything was mediocre flavor wise. The fried fish was brick like, the shrimp were dry, the raw oysters had a "funk" about them, and the crabs were underseasoned. Perhaps the biggest disappointment were the crawfish, which were in season, and lacking terribly in seasoning. It's understandable that buffets aren't known for quality food, but this is even lower than what we had hoped. Despite these setbacks, the beauty of a buffet is having options. Next plate up was hot food, which was a cornucopia of meats, corn on the cob, potatoes, with mac and cheese, and dessert. Not one thing on the plate stood out -- all bland. It was enough to where most of us were sober and hating life -- we were supposed to be the exact opposite. A serious buzzkill, quite literally. The service wasn't stellar enough to sell us back. They were slow to clear tables and generally seemed understaffed on a week night. Being attentive with a good attitude is service must, but my group and I got neither. At one point I just asked for an entire pitcher so they wouldn't have to come back to refill our glasses. Naturally, they forgot about the pitcher. Perhaps one of these days I'll be back to try a holiday themed night or even one of their breakfast sessions. Came here for the Sunday morning brunch and had a lovely time. Everything was hot & fresh. Many choices to chose from. I particularly enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and the fresh Belgian waffle which was made to order. The servers seemed a little short staffed but they were attentive and the place was very clean. I also appreciated the fact they hv hand sanitizing stations at various spots in the dining area. The crowd is mostly older and it wasn't the most diverse but it was still cool. This buffet is better than other casino buffets in the area. Downfall: there themed nights aren't really themed. 80% of the buffet remains the same or similar throughout the week. Service is always good and I have never had an issue with food being replenished. The taste of the food is just mediocre. There selection though is vast in comparison to others. Plenty of shrimp and catfish. The catfish is so good. Has a little spice to it. Then there are your soups. I always get some of the chicken sausage gumbo and the red beans and rice. Then you can also get meats, hot dogs, fried chicken, baked chicken, pasta, baked potatoes, tater tots, Chinese food, macaroni and cheese, and bread. The worse food, we only eat when it's comped. I feel sorry to whoever pays full price for this slop. I only eat there if comped is because if it's nasty, I leave it on table for them to dump in garbage. I usually go fix a salad, because usually they can't mess that up. The pigs that this discarded food goes to are the winners here! The Bon Temps buffet offers a little bit of this and a little bit of that for a whopping 30 bucks/person. I have tried several things here except the fried foods which are plentiful here. I usually get the boiled seafood and come during the seafood extravaganza. We also came on Thanksgiving and I wasn't a huge fan of the turkey but I did like the cornbread dressing and sweet potato casserole. I also had some of the crabs and a couple of the shrimp but I was pretty disappointed they didn't have any boiled shrimp only the cold shrimp. Not impressed; doubt I'll go back. I really liked the French Onion soup. The salad bar was fine. The antipasto would have been better if there were some sort of crackers besides saltines. Came in for dinner on a Saturday night for the Louisiana seafood so my score is based mainly on the snowcrab and crawfish. After my horrible experience in Vegas, this place felt like heaven. The snow crab was steamed and to top it off, they steamed the crab with some Louisiana spice to add some flavor. It wasn't steamed with water, it was steamed with flavor! One of the best casino buffets around. I'm not sure if they serve crab legs every night but every time I have come they do. The crab legs and crawfish are seasoned very well....locals would agree.
