I live in New Orleans and drove out to this restaurant in Baton Rouge because a patient recommended it as her favorite "boil house". She was right and didn't miss! The service could use a little improvement based on the bickering heard at the front near the host booth but our server was good. The ambiance is loud but expected for this kind of restaurant. She seemed fairly new, but I have to give her credit--she was polite and professional the entire time, despite having to juggle such a large group. The real issue was the timing. It took **over an hour and a half** for our food to arrive, and I only know this because I started timing it after my drink took forever to come out. It didn't help that this was my first time at the restaurant, so my expectations were high. Two hours into our visit, another waiter finally came to help with drinks, but by that point, it felt like too little too late. I didn't even bother taking any pictures of the food because, by the time our table got served, most people had already finished eating. After that, it was time to sing happy birthday and open presents, so the whole meal felt a bit rushed for me. Now, my partner ordered the **fried catfish**, and despite the long wait, it was actually really good--hot, crispy, and full of flavor. I would definitely order it again if I ever return. We also took some seafood to go, and after reheating it, it was surprisingly great. Overall, I'd like to give this place another shot, but with a smaller group next time. The environment is very clean and the atmosphere passes the vibe check as they keep classic R&B and soul music in rotation. There are tv sets all around the establishment if you happen to stop in on a game night. They also have karaoke nights if you looking for some good old fashion fun! Juicy's has a hospitable culture that starts from the leadership team and trickles down to the waitstaff and bar. Management is always present and courteous without announcing themselves. I'll start with the drink menu. The drinks are delicious and they always have a special running. They have a good variety. The Pin Me Down is my gf's favorite along with the Juicy Bubblegum. I like them all. The food menu is setup so you get a pretty good bang for your buck but you can always build your own seafood combo. It just depends on your preference. What's more important are the seasoning offerings for the seafood. Lemon pepper, garlic butter, and Cajun. There's also five spice levels. I recommend blending all three flavors together for what they call the Juicy special and picking your spice level. They have excellent add on options to help you round out your combos. The price is affordable and you truly get your moneys worth. The pans are abundant. I leave happy and full every time. If you need a seafood fix. Trust me this will be your new go to spot. read more
