I USED TO LOVE WHIPPANY VET WITH MY HEART AND KITTEN SOUL…read more But that kitten grew up. And so did Whippany Vet. They still do all those services, and they do them well, but let me tell you a couple of reasons the stars have disappeared. * The price. Has at least doubled, maybe more, in the last few years. I get what it can cost to maintain quality care... but other places can provide the same care for FAR less. * The service. Has dropped way down. They know my pet very well, and they know she hates travel, but the last time I brought her there they gave me a very hard time about coming for a checkup and getting a dental cleaning the same day "because it's been more than a year". I had to convince them they knew what my cat needed. Then they gave me the same talk this time, and I did not bring her there. * The lack of care. The last time I brought her there, they removed her teeth without calling me to let me know. "Oh, the teeth were receding into the gum." YOU CALL ME FIRST. Period stop. And they trimmed her claws, which they have never done before and I never do because she never uses them. She hurt for weeks from that, wondering where the tips went. Poor soul. I'm going to side with the latest reviews that have been heading downhill. Something has changed here for the very worse. I hope the good doctors and other staff that are left can find better vets to supply their services. For now, maintaining 2 stars only because I believe there is quality somewhere back there... but I'm not testing it anymore.

Pet owners, beware of Whippany Veterinary Hospital's repeated dismissive care that endangered my…read moresenior cat. Whippany Veterinary Hospital's repeated negligence and dismissal of all concerns delayed critical diagnoses for my senior cat, Boo Boo. They refused hypertension treatment, stating that after their "calculations," high BP readings (up to 192 mmHg) were "normal," yet wouldn't explain the calculations despite my requests. This oversight endangered him during a dental procedure by ignoring an undisclosed 192/135 mmHg BP. Common senior issues like vomiting and elevated eosinophils (indicating inflammatory bowel disease), abnormal bloodwork (high creatinine, SDMA 12/15 for stage 2 kidney disease), and lung problems (bronchitis missed on X-rays) were dismissed as normal. Rockaway Animal Hospital, a respected vet, diagnosed all on the first appointment, starting vital treatments. Whippany's repeated dismissals could have been deadly; protect your pets by avoiding them. At his first visit to the respected Rockaway Animal Hospital, Boo Boo was diagnosed with and started treatment for hypertension, inflammatory bowel disease, and kidney disease immediately--conditions Whippany could and should have treated. I am happy to say Boo Boo is doing well today and is in better health than he was under the negligent care of Whippany Vet. Their repeated negligence could have been fatal--steer clear for your pet's safety. I cannot warn against Whippany Veterinary Hospital enough. That said, if you are seeking a quality and caring veterinary practice, I cannot recommend Rockaway Animal Hospital and their excellent veterinary staff enough.

Brought in our furry family member to get some emergency medical care. She needed an acute care due…read moreto her inability to stand on her own as she was off-balance. After searching Yelp for an open Veterinary Hospital on a Friday night; found Eclipse open 24 hours. So, I made the call and spoke with them to confirm they were open and they have the ability to address her situation. Arriving after a 20 minute ride, there was no waiting time, they took her immediately to the treatment area for a prompt examination of her situation. After completing the initial intake documentation we spoke with a technician to explain the situation that led us there. After a period of time, the ER Vet - Dr. Charlotte Van Horne spoke with us regarding the different pathways of a diagnosis for the treatment of vertigo, along with of her progression . The Doc gave a thorough explanation and was showed patience in answering all our questions. She didn't rush or push her treatment, and I appreciated the clear explanations provided and treatment plan. After a day at home, we decided to bring her back Saturday since my dog refused to eat or drink water for approximately 24 hours, hence she was unable to take her meds. The waiting room was busy with other dogs and cats. We spoke with the staff and then consulted with Dr. Katie Bazewicz on her diagnosis and our options. We chose to admit her for the next 24 hours so my dog can get the proper amount of fluids via an I.V.; actually kept her admitted until Monday morning when our dog would be examined by the Vet Neurologist - Dr. Boaz Levitin. He provided a thorough exam and gave his diagnosis which gave us comfort with the current treatment plan and didn't just push us for an MRI, which isn't the best option due to my dog's age. We were extremely impressed with the level of care and attention we received. The entire medical team was professional, knowledgeable, and communicative; from the receptionist, med techs, nurses, doctors, and specialist. The staff were friendly and empathetic throughout our several visits. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The waiting room is large and nicely decorated for the holidays. They have a complimentary water, along with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine to include a soda/snack vending machine. The price points for the services may be higher than your usual Vet bill, however you need to understand that this is a 24 hour ER service. It could be a little pricey, but my question is how important is your furry family member valued by you and your family in your home. Overall, I was very satisfied with the care provided and would highly recommend Eclipse ER Vet Hospital to others. The compassionate and professional service I experienced is a credit to the hospital and its entire staff.

Feeling so fortunate that when my cat Pouncey became acutely ill with increased urinary symptoms…read morewhile in town visiting my parents, Eclipse Emergency Care was right down the street. Despite being in the medical field myself, I felt in over my head with a feline emergency. Thankfully, I was met with care and compassion every step of the way starting with the initial triage, and Pouncey was rushed back for immediate evaluation after I described his symptoms. Special thanks to Dr. Kuck, who was extremely thorough and despite already making the initial diagnosis of FLUTD, performed additional workup as Pouncey's bloodwork looked suspicious. She ultimately also diagnosed him with a left kidney mass. Although this was devastating news, she performed the necessary workup and helped me transition seamlessly to his local vet back in California, even calling several days later to follow up and make sure his records got sent over. Pouncey is thankfully on the mend, and is scheduled to see a local surgeon for his tumor - all of this would have been impossible without the expert and timely care from Eclipse!

I called them on a Saturday evening when it became clear our beloved cat was suffering and that it was his "time" and to my relief they were able to be there within 30 minutes. I am immeasurably grateful for their help at this difficult time, for their heartfelt kindness and patience and to explain everything to us and help us understand, after examining our cat, that we were making the right decision. They let us take as much time as we needed through the process. They could not have been more perfect, from the very first telephone conversation, they said all the right things, with authentic empathy and caring - for us and our cat - and helped so very much as we did the kindest thing we could do for our kitty and let him go peacefully. I sincerely wish them all the best, and recommend them highly to anyone needing veterinary care for their beloved pet.

The pet hospital service and attention to your pet is very good…read more This issue Is with the home office. My dog lived to 16 1/2 so we were very lucky. This last year she went for regular well visits only until she took a sudden turn and had to be put to sleep. I had to call the home office/general number today to find out how to end the monthly plan. Apparently you must continue paying the monthly payments after the dog dies... until the contract year a over. This makes no sense to me and is a horrible way to end the relationship. When the dog passes the contract should be null and void. We paid $122 to close the contract because there is no more dog-- luckily just a few months we're left. This was in addition to paying every month for 14+ years, relevant fees along the way for treatment, surgeries and medication, , as well as the fees to put her to sleep and the disposal of her body. Luckily for us there were just 3 months outstanding. For those who might consider another dog, it makes me question if I would do it again. What if your dog passes 2 months into the contract? You owe 10 months? If the home office is reading this, stop charging dog owners monthly fees after the dog passes. Many of us have been customers for 14 years or more. It's really disgusting that you do this and a terrible way to end the relationship in addition to mourning a loved one. I don't care if it's in the small type of the contract. No one will remember this 10-16 years later. It's bad business and greedy. This is not a reflection of the vets and staff-- they are amazing. Banfield home office need to rethink this policy. Waive the monthly fees if the dog passes. It's horrible PR too. If you have a dog for 10 years or more, you should consider the lifetime value of the customer and not worry about collecting monthly fees when there is no dog alive to benefit from using your services .
