Day of surgery comes i get to the vet with the certificate and they tell me they don't accept the certificate so i had to pay the regular price and the $75 certificate i purchased went to waste as well they asked me the date i called so they can listen to their recorded calls but apparently since it was 1 month back they don't have the recording conveniently!!!! They weren't helpful with reducing the price or anything.... They really need to train the people who answer the phones so something like this doesn't happen again

I did not have a personal interaction with her but she made a very neglectful decision on a matter involving my pets medical care . My dog was prescribed ear drops, but the vet tech did not attach the correct tip when administering them in the office, which resulted in about 75% of the medication being lost. I didn't realize until I got home that the bottle was almost empty. When I called, the situation was not handled well by her and the explanation given by the tech did not match what happened. After spending nearly $500 at the visit, it was frustrating to feel like Dr Tsavera's solution was not that the office replace them rather I can buy more . That insinuates I am at fault . Why should I pay for another bottle ? I never used the first bottle prescribed only the tech did in the office and it was almost empty when I took it out of the box at my house and opened it. She was unwilling to allow the office to take any means of responsibility or hold staff accountable . She shifted blame and automatically pointed fault at the customer. I stated if this was not handled with consideration and fairness I would no longer bring my dog there . She was satisfied with loosing a patient over 40$ ear drops . She also was aware there was not enough drops for my dogs ear infection due to the tech mishandling them . That alone proves who is behind this business a cold and dismissive heart does not belong in this business ! Shane, the office manager, was wonderful--kind, helpful, and understanding. Dr. Magee at this practice is wonderful as well ! However, Dr. Alina Tsavera was nothing short of a nightmare !

This is a very small office which means it is quiet, personal, and scheduled appointments are timely. Dr Sarle is so kind and gentle to animals that my extremely aggressive-to-men poodle was never reluctant to go to appointments and never aggressive toward Dr. Sarle. Calling in a panic on a weekend or after office hours and being able to speak with Dr Sarle directly is a part of the care and service that makes me feel as if my pups are getting the best veterinary care possible.

She has excellent bedside manner, takes the time to listen to all concerns, is the perfect mixture of traditional and natural medicines, and has come to our aid multiple times. She is easily available for communication via email, phone and text. She even went so far as to return a phone from abroad to our family! My only regret is not finding her sooner! She has the ability to take blood, perform routine examines and much more - all within the comfort of our home. I know time is limited with our four legged family member and I'm happy to know that Dr. Kuo will be by our side for now, helping us to enjoy our time together, while making our pooch comfortable until the end. However, after the procedure, she developed a strong aversion to the Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital but remained fond of the other vet. I found this unusual but continued to go there. When COVID restrictions were lifted and I was allowed in the room, I witnessed a nurse drop a vial and an uncapped needle on the floor and then attempt to use it on my dog. Concerned for her safety, I decided to stop taking her there, although my dad continued to bring our cats to the same place. Dr. Marmur used to sedate my cat monthly/bimonthly just for nail clippings. Frequent sedation is not ideal for cats, and it was distressing for her. After a particularly traumatic experience where Dr. Marmur euthanized another cat in a manner that caused him immense pain, we switched to a new vet. Recently, I mentioned the difficulty we had with nail clippings at the new vet, where my cat would become extremely agitated. To my surprise, the new vet managed to clip all four paws without sedation, and my cat remained calm and still throughout the process. This experience made it clear that the problem was not with my cat but with the approach used by the Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital and Dr. Marmur. Their methods were not only ineffective but also troubling. If I could give 0 stars I would!

One time my schnauzer Sam ate rat poisoning, and Frank fast thinking calculated the medicine and got them to throw up and save my dogs life. Whether it be regular care, or emergency care, I have found them to be very professional, but also kind and considerate. Having always had a lot of animals, I've learned to ask the prices before having something done and they are very good about letting you know the cost of each procedure and making suggestions about what steps to consider. I love the on line scheduling, but most of all, I love their patience, especially with my one dog who is a drama queen.

This is tantamount to price discrimination and encourages pet owners to defer healthcare waiting for a price reduction, to the detriment of pet health. The actual care our pets have received at Eagle Rock is generally very good. Dr. Lewis in…read moreparticular is exceptionally caring, listens well, appreciates our concerns, answers our questions thoroughly and is typically very compassionate. Additionally, the staff is generally pleasant, conscientious and professional. But - and the but is substantial - Eagle Rock's policies seem to almost always necessitate expensive additional, many times unnecessary or repeatedly declined tests, shots and treatments. There has never been a "quick stop by for a vaccine" before boarding or "can you take a quick look at this" with Eagle Rock in the 5 years we've gone there. There is always an upsell for something additional. After a recent upsell on an annual exam only 7 months after the last annual exam, I calmly explained that the only reason we needed to come in was for the shots. I was told the recommendations were Eagle Rock's policy; I was offered a call back from Dr. Miller, who is listed as Eagle Rock's owner on their website. Dr. Miller called me back, and when I suggested we plainly acknowledge that for our 3 (rescued) pet household, Eagle Rock's veterinary practice management and visitation monetization strategy was starting to wear thin on us, Dr. Miller condescendingly denied even understanding what I meant by "upselling" or "practice management" (both core ideas presented at virtually every veterinarian trade show in existence - Google it). He then followed up with a parochial lecture on "standard of care" which implied irresponsibility on my part ("maybe you don't think your dogs require so many visits, but they age 4-5 years so we want to see them again") and - with the suggestion that I bring our dogs to Petco for vaccinations since "money is clearly an issue" - a cheap one as well. I ended the call with "Well clearly I have been 100% mistaken, nevermind". I can't remember exactly what couple of words Dr Miller said, but the unmistakable tone was "Yes, clearly *you* were mistaken." The customer doesn't always need to be right, but any business, if they don't agree with the customer, should at least acknowledge their opinions and experiences. But if a business chooses to belittle a customer, they won't be a customer for much longer. Have it your way, Dr. Miller. One less family of pets for you.
