Nobody said one word about needing a separate "new patient" appointment. Then his paw started bleeding. We called for help and were flatly told the other office "couldn't take him" because he'd never been seen as a new patient, despite the fact that he absolutely had been. A dog in pain got turned away over an internal paperwork technicality that took their own staff thirty seconds to explain, if anyone had bothered. Also, my other dog has been a patient for years so they knew me. When we pushed back, the vet stated that she never checked him. Even though she had him on the table?!?! I figured she would say let him come in to see the paw. That's a practice choosing to protect itself over a customer whose dog needed care. Two offices that can't sync a patient file is a system failure. Refusing to own it when it hurts an animal is a choice. We're done, both dogs are gone, and so is any recommendation from us.

When I brought my dog in, they examined him for 30 seconds, prescribed gabapentin and told me he would be fine. After getting a second opinion I learned my dog had a serious condition that could have been diagnosed earlier had the veterinarians paid better attention. Despite my best efforts, my dog passed away three months later. Before going to this Animal Hospital, please do your research! Millwood Animal needs to have better treatment procedures and standards. Clients should not need to get a second opinion because the first vet was too lazy to do a legitimate exam.

They stood there and watched me struggle and finally decided oh let's give the dog a treat, and that was their way of helping me.....not helping me lift the dog up on the scale. I REPEAT....DO NOT go there That little, feisty , so-called, office Mgr (name withheld) has no business servicing humans and their pets. Do not be fooled like I was. I was in a conflicted position of having to deal with with my dog who belonged to my Mother who recently passed away. My dog was having some significant issues . I was given the right advice at that time and they even completed some extra testing without charging. Overall this experience was positive on this day and this day only. As a result of this visit, my dog was placed on prescription food ( the vet gave me some large cans) to try at no cost which my dog actually enjoyed. I proceeded to order food through their online pharmacy , however, I was given the small cans which last significantly shorter in time than the larger cans I was initially given ( this is important). I found the same food on Chewy at a reduced price which simply required a veterinary prescription. At no point was I told I ha When I called today, I was met with a confrontational co-owner ( not the one I had dealt with earlier this week) who proceeded to berate me about a conversation that was never had , which would have explained why they don't deal with third party pharmacies. Had she approached this encounter in a professional manner, this review would be much different. I don't have an issue with having to use their online pharmacy, however, as a customer who paid a significant amount of money earlier this week, to get treated in such a unprofessional and lack of empathy says a lot about this one individual. Looking at the other comments, it seems there is a common theme in some capacity. Again this was simply over trying to order food.... I am conflicted as to whether I will go back. My dog is more than 16 years old, the only connecting piece of my Mother I have left. I simply wanted to order food and not be spoken at by some entitled co-owner. Empathy and compassion go a long way and should mean a hell of a lot more than the dollars and cents you get from the people that keep the business alive. I do not believe I am hypersensitive. My husband is a head and neck surgeon, and I am a clinical psychologist. We both know how to take care of patients, even those who may be more challenging for one reason or another. We do so without. being rude, aloof, nor irritated.
