My 15-yr-old dog and I have been going to this vet since we moved to the area, 18 months ago. Everyone was very welcoming, always said how much they loved my dog, yadda yadda. This past weekend, when they were closed, my dog started peeing blood and I knew it was time for her to go. Their emergency answering service was lovely and recommended some nearby emergency vets. RHVH has been my puppy's prime care facility. The staff is amazingly friendly and are eager to help any way possible. The veterinarians are top notch so are the nurses and aides. My puppy who is very jittery, shy and picky always feels comfortable at RHVH especially at the boarding facility that we used a few times. During the pandemic, almost all procedures were canceled but my dog had an ongoing situation dating back to January and when I noticed last week it was getting worse, I called and Dr. Fabiano was gracious enough to perform a procedure. The drop off and pick up although very unusual but necessary was conducted in a very professional and timely manner. I highly recommend the team at RHVH. read more

We had an impromptu visit to have two lumps checked out and have found our new favorite vet! Dr. Green was wonderful with our scaredy dog. We have a pitbull that wouldn't hurt a fly (literally) and it's so refreshing to visit with a vet that is comfortable handling her. We appreciated that she got down on the floor rather than forced our pup up on the tiny table. The gentleness and ease transcended to our dog -in the end making the entire affair enjoyable. We had a really great tech too, I wish I could recall her name. I'm a bit of a control freak with my dog (I'm sure my boyfriend would laugh if he read this) but I felt completely confident allowing her to be taken to the back for some lab work. Doctor Fabiano is the most empathetic vet that I have met in years. He truly knows my pets and more importantly knows me. He had taken such special care of my dogs individually and it is truly amazing how he knows each one's personality. You simply answer few questions on your phone, park in a numbered spot and they pick up and return your pet to the vehicle. Most importantly they helped my dog feel better, while taking a measured approach to her healing plan and trying to let her heal naturally, which I really appreciated. I got my bunny 5 years ago and this is the only vet he will ever go to! Dr. Loeschel is simply amazing with my Netherland dwarf. Dr. Pisciotta neutered my bunny when he was very young and it was super successful! My dog Rocky, a cockapoo when here most of his life. He was diagnosed with heart disease and the medicine they us for him daily helped him live out the rest of his years healthy and super comfortable. I have brought four dogs to Rye Harrison over the years. I now live over an hour away and since we have three dogs we need something closer. This is the best animal hospital anywhere. Uncompromising care and concern. It's been that way for the entire time. Dr. Pisciotta and Dr.Yarnell, and long time vet tech Denise are all INCREDIBLE PEOPLE, who make your animals feel safe, calm(er!) and simply give the best care possible. Deep level of experience and sharp eyes. I wish I could offer more than five stars! I will say that you need to be patient when you call sometimes as it's a busy practice, especially Monday mornings. They are always super professional. I want to thank all those front desk staff too because they deal with a lot between the calls, pets being checked in and checked out, clean up, giving out meds and water, and in general being the front line. read more

If it were possible to leave a negative amount of stars, I would. If you want your animal to survive an injury, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. My dog was taken there by my ex husband weeks after she apparently broke her foot and it somehow became severely infected. She was extremely ill when I was able to get her back and I was very concerned that she would not live. Their protocol was illogical and exorbitantly expensive. I followed it for a week as she became weaker. I ultimately decided to take her for a second opinion and got sound medical advice. She began to recover immediately under the new vet. In turn, they billed me an astronomical fee for nearly killing her. read more

Another review to mention rats and for anyone with small rodents or exotic animals. I am always pleasantly surprised by how quickly I can make an appointment, receive treatment, and get my pet returned with medications. I did the drop-off option, which included me dropping off my pet and the vet tending to him as soon as he got the chance. My rat was in an out within a couple hours. They were open with me about the cost of getting certain diagnostic procedure. For any one interested, it cost about ~$120 for the physical exam and medications. read more

The vet seemed polite and professional. However, there's an emphasis on testing, some of which are not necessary. An explanation should be given about each test they propose along with the cost. I was presented with a bill for $700 after my card was inserted for processing and I questioned what I was being charged for. One test for feline leukemia on both cats was not explained by use of an acronym so that I had no idea what the test involved but agreed on faith. But, the cats are 9 years old, stay indoors and the need for this was not explained as necessary but as a good idea in case they developed symptoms. That's flawed in that the risk is zero and if they were infected, it's generally too late. I was also told on the day that I called in for the results that one cat had a creatinine level of 2.0 and should perhaps consider further kidney tests. That's nonsense since the normal range for cats is .6 to 2.4. But in this particular vet's defense, she did hedge by saying it's not all that high in case I had access to a computer. Although they agreed to credit the $200 for those tests, that was 4 days ago. Originally, the front desk employee who processed the transaction lied about the procedure's necessity, lied about why should couldn't reprocess the credit, and on this call 4 days later, insisted I had to bring my credit card down to the clinic to process the credit which is absurd and should have been done at the time of service. Also, the in-house testing had been done the same day of service and I had to call this clinic to get the results that by way of professional courtesy someone should have notified me about when they were available. For the amount paid, I view the focus of this clinic on making money instead of honestly evaluating what should be done and following through promptly. Unfortunately, as in the case of personal healthcare, at this clinic it appears it's in your best interest to research things and be your pet's healthcare advocate to avoid stressing your pets with all types of tests and repeat visits. read more

A few months ago my jack Russell terrier "bear" who has passed away since her last visit there of 12 years was miss diagnosed and sent home with an upset belly. Turns out she had a tumor the size of a grapefruit ..... the tumor was successfully removed by a more Professional vet but the time lapsed due to misdiagnosis from rye and my Best friend little bear passed away ... tragic for my son and myself I was also diagnosed with covid 19 ...... out of work as a New York City detective I explained the money issue to rye vet at the time which was totally Ignored and i made a payment of what I could afford to keep the account in good standing ...... Fast forward to today my account was sent to collection affecting me severely at this time ...... This was poorly handled and cost me the life of my pet and now it's costing me financially as well ........ I switched to RH after my 6yo bloodhound had ACL surgery while we shecwas a patient at Miller Clark. Miller Clark wouldn't fit her in when she developed a post surgery infection which is a front desk issue not a vet issue however, that's a huge problem. Rye Harrison (Dr. Piscotta) saw her the same day I noticed the infection... he put her on a treatment plan and she was better almost immediately. Rye Harrison vets are more than competent, informative and caring, the front desk people are attentive and kind and the vet techs are gentle and always smiling. They are professional, welcoming and courteous. My cat has been ill and under the care of Dr. Pisciotta and Dr. Sperling, and I will depend on them to guide me to whatever lies ahead for her. I will never forget the compassion shown to me and my family many years ago by Dr. Pisciotta when my sweet cat had to be put to sleep. He brought us in on a holiday so we could experience our cat's peaceful passing in a more quiet setting. When I started to notice my rat making snuffling/snorting noises when he breathed, I was not only worried for him, but unsure if I'd even be able to find a nearby vet that would a.) have expertise with rats, and b.) not charge hundreds of dollars for mediocre service. When I scheduled an appointment here, I was able to get a quick visit with lots of reassuring advice, a manageable bill, and a prescription for Dobie that seems to be working! He's a fussy baby when taking it, but as of today I have not heard him snuffling or seen him showing signs of pain. While living in Westchester County I believe this Veterinary Hospital is tops! These educated and friendly vets really take care of their clients pets! While you wait in the waiting room you are entertained with their friendly parrot that talks sometimes. (The parrot loves to meow or bark for a cookie!) Though, the receptionist usually tells him to be quiet. :)They are right on time with appointment and if an emergency, they will see your pet same day without appointment.( Always friendly no matter how busy. )They also inform you before they do any procedure and only want whats best for your animal. They do follow-up free of charge and there is always a follow-up phone call. We rescued a dog with a rather severe case of heartworm. If you know anything about heartworm, you know the treatment can kill the dog if they get a clot. These vets handled the whole treatment spectacularly- I was coached in every aspect of care at home, had all my calls returned, and my dog was cured and lived to see old age.
