Holly was declining fast - we were heartbroken. He took all our calls and squeezed time in for Holly on his busy calendar. His support brought comfort and dignity to Holly in her final days. We think back on our last visit to the office and realized Dr. Marsh wasn't just providing healthcare for Holly; he was caring for us too. There was a connection between the doctor, the pet, and the family. We are very grateful for Andrew's help and that Holly had the best possible care. If I could rate this practice 0 stars I would. They should not be practicing and the doctors and…read morestaff are unqualified in what they do. They completely MISDIAGNOSED my dog following an ultrasound. They performed an ultrasound and stated that he had masses on his spleen and gallbladder. They even had measurements for these masses. Bile duct obstruction due to one of the masses. The conclusion I was given was that my dog's disease was severe, he had a guarded prognosis, would require intense hospitalization with fluids and antibiotics. They also recommended exploratory surgery on the masses. That this could also be neoplasia. The only other option I was given was that his prognosis was poor and humane euthanasia should be discussed. Fast forward four days later, things did not sit right and on a whim, we decided to bring our dog for a second opinion elsewhere. A second ultrasound was performed and NO masses were found. There was NO mass on his spleen, and NO mass on his gallbladder. The image of the second ultrasound and associated signs and symptoms, were vastly different than the ultrasound results I received from Greenfield. The second ultrasound and hospital did not agree with the findings from Greenfield and furthermore said that much of the imaging was consistent with pancreatitis. He was tested for this, came back positive, and is now on treatment. This was shocking. My family and I went through a very difficult few days with the belief that our dog was dying. All due to the incompetence and wrong diagnosis from Greenfield. The fact that Greenfield recommended exploratory surgery on a mass that is NOT even there is insane. The facility looks like a five star resort for pet care, and I can only imagine why. They 100% misdiagnosed my dog, he does not have any masses, and is doing well now with treatment and a low fat diet. My family and I suffered immense grief over the days before going for the second ultrasound. We were in touch with end of life services, and we were coming to terms that we were about to lose our beloved family pet. The fact that there was treatment all along which I could have started sooner is infuriating and extremely upsetting. I would never recommend Greenfield to anyone I know. I wonder how many families go into their practice daily and receive the results I received. How many families go home thinking it is the end with their dog, are given a wrong diagnosis and no hope. They should NOT be performing ultrasounds or any advanced testing on animals. They are inept and in all honesty, their certifications should be questioned.

At 77, I think I may not rescue another kitty but If one should find me, as has often happenned in my life, I will continue to use Westport Animal Hospital to care for my rescue. One other thing, in all the times I have boarded my cat she has always come home completely healthy, with no coughs or other issues. I love the fact that this facility is in an old house with a porch and an upstairs which I believe someone lives in because the boarded animals are not alone after hours. He is communicative, caring, and has a great bedside manner. It is clear he truly cares about his patients and their owners. He gave my dog his wellness checkup last year. On the other hand and unfortunately, unfortunately, there are absolutely NO good things I can say about Dr. Schoenhut. She didn't return calls on two occasions despite our reaching out multiple times and being told things like, "oh she'll call in in 30 mins;" "oh, she was supposed to return your call after lunch;"; "I'll remind her again in just a minute;" "She's currently in with another pet but she'll reach out before she leaves (which she didn't). It took three more calls the next day (with similar excuses) before she called after the practice had closed for the day. I had brought my dog in for a number of reasons because he had a lot of muscle and overall weight loss in a very short period of time, could no longer jump up onto even the couch, his face had become gaunt, and his face and body (particularly the former) had been turning gray very quickly. Based on his condition, I was pretty sure that he had cancer. I've attached two pictures. The first is what he looked like during his wellness exam with Dr. Nolan about 8-ish months before I came back. The second is what he looked like the month after the exam by Dr. Schoenhut. He wasn't quite as wasted away at the time she examined him, but it wasn't much better. After Dr. Schoenhut examined him, she ordered a number of tests. When the results came in, she started breezing through things without defining the medical terms. I had to stop her, asked her to break it all down, and what it all meant. I asked her to explain the results and just to be straight with me if it looked like it was cancer--particularly because of the way he looked. She was kind of vague, talking about how certain markers *might* indicate the presence of cancer, and then recommended other tests that could be performed--including something like bone-marrow extraction--that would have cost over (if I'm remembering correctly) about $3,000 to $3,500 if we wanted to be 100% certain. I later learned that one of the markers on my dog's original test was in the 9,000 range but normal was in the 300 range, and that plus another elevated marker, together with his physical condition as shown in the picture below were sufficient to diagnose the presence of cancer without the need for the other really expensive tests In both visits Dr. Schoenhut--unlike Dr. Nolan--made me feel like she was just rushing through the appointment to get onto the next appointment. Literally the worst vet experience I've ever had in the 21+ years I've been a dog owner. But for the fact that Dr. Nolan and the staff are so great, I'd have rated the business no higher than 2 stars. If you do choose this practice, make sure you ask for and get Dr. Nolan.

Holly not only throughly vetted me she also was completely honest about Annabelle. Annabelle was a farm dog, hard to contain...Houdini! I had many dogs before Annabelle but I was grateful for Holly's honesty so I knew exactly what to expect.
