for anyone with a fur baby in the area you need to give them the best and Monroe animal IS THE BEST. Both of Fur babies were patients of them and even during the worst times of my life they made sure that my Kittehs had the best care they could even going above and beyond their duties. They made the last few yrs of my sweet kittehs Blazes&Etain lives as best as they could and for this i am ever indebted to them and grateful for thier kind, generous, warm and loving care they gave right to the end.. there are no amount of words to express the care they take with each and everyone of thier patients, they treat them as if they were they own.. read more

Dr. Burg (and at points Drs. Waldo and Sackler) cared for my dog from 8 weeks and then for years at a time for his 14 years (I had moved in and out of the area a few times, but always came back to this practice). Dr. Burg performed surgery on him twice when he was younger. He was last seen in the office a few months ago so his care there was up to date. Several weeks ago, I had a true emergency at 8am on a weekday: my elderly dog had collapsed and I could not get him up. I called the office in tears (knowing I'd likely need to put my best friend to sleep) and was flatly told by the receptionist that Dr. Burg had no appointments that day, but that she'd leave him a message and call me back. I called back to follow up an hour later and same cold, flat response. I asked if Dr. Burg was in the office that day--he was--and she apparently was unwilling to ask him directly ("Like I said, I left the doctor a note"). There were no other relief staff available at the practice that day. My dog died that day, at an emergency facility that did not know us. I never received a call back from Monroe Animal Hospital. There are two clear issues here: no emergency appointments in the schedule (I called immediately when the office opened that day) and the cold response from staff. It's worth noting that I was not an overly demanding, verbally abusive client on the phone--I was kind and communicated the issues my dog was having very clearly. I'm more than disappointed. I am in healthcare myself and am well aware of the demands that the pandemic has brought to the industry and staff being stretched. But this practice that saw my puppy for the first time 14 years ago gave me the cold shoulder when he and I needed the care the most. I'm getting a new puppy soon and I can't bring him back here. read more

If you don't use this Vet you are not doing the best for your pet! I have two beagles who come with many potential problems... as a frequent traveler I have used many vets over time... and many don't understand the breed issues and cannot provide care. NOT HERE! These outstanding vets listened, reviewed all the paperwork, did their homework on the issue and PROMPTLY treated it to the relief of the dogs pain! Things were going great to the weather change and more meds were needed.... a quick call and short drive later my best friend is getting relief from a vet on his day off! Dr Burg is the best. I always leave the practice completely relieved and encouraged. I appreciate Dr. Burg's expertise and have so much confidence in his detail and plan of treatment for my cat. He is very patient, does not rush my appointment and is so calming and positive. Dr Burg's rapid turn around time with test results is so appreciated because I worry until I hear from him. The doctor always calls a few days or so later to make sure everything is going in the right direction with my Mackenzie. We have been his patient for over 15 years and have no negative comments to offer. The staff is very compassionate as well. I have been home in CT for the past few months due to COVID - I go to school in Ohio, and my sweet pup had only been to the vet's office there. I needed to get her rabies booster, and this office was SO accomodating! Even with the virus going on, they were so thorough and took all the necessary precautions. They took amazing care of my pup and were so kind! (Also - my older dog has been going here for her entire life..they take great care of her as well, I was just writing this review now since they did so good with a new client!) read more

Can't believe there are no reviews. Our animals, two dogs and a cat so far, have been cared for at this practice for over ten years. While it is a smaller group, two vets, both are excellent with pets. They are a bit pricy but your pets will get excellent care. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Monroe Animal Hospital for over 25 years. Dr. Burg and Dr. Waldo are compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. They always follow up in a timely manner. When one of my dogs was hit by a garbage truck the staff met me at my car to take my dog from me and save her life. They have been there to aid in tough decision making throughout the years. read more

There is no better Dr. Vet than Dr. Burg. He is a brilliant vet who knows exactly what treatments his animals need and his conservative approach is so refreshing, no panic. He is very calm and kind to his clients and his fur babies. He cares deeply about the treatment of all his fur babies and is always right about what they need. I cannot say enough positive things about Monroe Animal Hospital. I have been taking my dog there since we got her 2 years ago. I have always been extremely happy with the care they gave to Lola. The Dr.s are so nice and do not rush you. They answer all of your questions in great detail. And the staff is just as wonderful. Always polite helpful and happy to see you. We had a scare with our dog yesterday. Lola had gotten into some medication(Tylenol). We were pretty positive she hadn't taken any. I called for some advise. The receptionist was extremely helpful. She spoke to the Dr. who was busy with another dog at the time. We decided not to take Lola in because like I said we were pretty positive she hadn't eaten any of the Tylenol and she did not have any symptoms. Then the receptionist called me back a few hours later to just check in. Not only that, Dr. Burg called me at 8:00 pm to make sure Lola was still doing well and reassure me that since Lola wasn't having any symptoms she most likely didn't eat any Tylenol. That phone call gave me the peace of mind I needed. Everyone at Monroe Animal Hospital is dedicated to giving there patient's and families the best experience possible. read more
