When arrived they wanted to use ropes to lift him with due to so badly soiled. So we supplied our own blanket and carried him to car. He was in obvious pain, soiled, bleeding from mouth. He was immediately taken to animal hospital and advised had to be put down for fractured back and kidney issues. When asked for an explanation Randa immediately sent a refund saying upon my request, which was just for explanation. When followed up was told I can't sue because I signed a waiver, that it was my fault for boarding an older dog and not boarded before. I never made any accusations or asked for anything but an explanation. I'm so devastated I left my pet/family member in their care.

When I'm in Europe or wherever, I get report cards and videos of how Harry is doing and it puts me very much at ease. I was shopping in Vernon Hills, one day, when I saw a van advertising in-home dog training. Given…read morethat we had recently acquired a new puppy, I was intrigued. I looked up Jeff's website (www.trainmydog.com) and was very impressed by what I saw, so I sent him a note explaining our situation and asking for his pricing information. He immediately arranged a phone call with me, so we could discuss my needs in more detail. With our first conversation I was impressed by how he listened while I explained different situations that pertained to our pup - then asked pertinent questions to help him understand the situation better. We talked for approx 30 minutes about what he could and could not do for us. (Our dog is a 'herder' by nature. I was hoping to break him of this habit but Jeff was very upfront in letting me know that this habit could not be broken and anyone who said they could break it was lying to us. I found it refreshing that he was honest and told me up front. He also told me that while it can't be broken, there are countermeasures that we can take to help control the situation.) I thought his prices were VERY reasonable (especially given that he was going to come to our house!) and LOVED that he has a "no-contract obligation" meaning he could come out once and we would never have to bring him back, if we didn't like what he did in the first session. After discussing everything with him, Jeff estimated that he would need no more than 3-4, 1-hour sessions with us (but again, we were not committed to anything past the first session.) We agreed! On the day of our first session, Jeff showed up on time and began immediately getting to know our dog. We talked through some things, to start, and then the training began. Jeff had recommended a prong collar and a non-retractable leash, when we spoke on the phone - so I had gone out and bought those things in advanced. However, he also came prepared with items would could have bought from him, had we not already purchased them (which was great!) I was nervous about using the prong collar (thought it looked more like a torture collar) so Jeff took time to explain how it works - why it's not inhumane - and also showed us how to size it and put it on properly so we weren't hurting our dog. Have to admit that the difference is like NIGHT and DAY when our dog is using that collar!! I'm a BIG believer, now! Jeff worked with our dog for approx 1.5 hours. He gave us tips and "homework" on things that we would need to continue working on, after he left. It has been only 6 days since Jeff was at our house and we're already seeing several changes in the behavior of our dog! We are THRILLED with the work we did with Jeff and would highly recommend his services!

I had one of their trainers make a house call for my 4 1/2 month old German Shepherd puppy that I got less than a week ago to ensure that I was clicker training her correctly. He was very professional, knowledgable and it was worth every penny even though I was already doing everything right. He showed me how quickly clicker training can be effective, and gave me a plethora advice from keeping training sessions short to where I could find shepherding school to keep my girl busy. All in all, it was such a wonderful experience I had to write a review. I visited the training facility itself the following day and they had a cornucopia of healthy treats, humane harnesses, dietary supplements, and toys in front and a nice, clean, large, padded area for dogs to play and learn in. With regards to another review I saw on here about communication issues, I've had the best luck with email. We did get ahold of each other via phone but we played a little phone tag first, which was as much my bad as his. To end this on a positive note, my puppy came knowing two words - "sit" and "come." Five days later she knows "sit," "down," "paw", "target," "roll-over," "no," "her name"(means make eye contact,) and "come." Marnie helped to make her into a more confident and safe pet. She is a completely different dog. We tried two different dog trainers, both highly recommended, but made little progress. From our first in-home lesson, it was clear that Marnie has a depth of understanding of dogs and how to work with them that we had not seen before. She has helped with us to understand the roots of Jasper's negative behaviors, how to help him feel secure, and how to recognize and avoid trouble with aggressive behavior He has improved so much in reactivity and aggression and generally in being more responsive. He's much better at walking without pulling and getting along with others at the dog park. Marni also does both day care and boarding at her home which is surrounded by an acre yard that is totally dedicated to dogs. She gives private lessons there too. With Jasper in among other dogs, Marnie showed us how to "read" his behavior and reactions to the other dogs and how to intervene with firmness and kindness.
