We had a pretty bad experience with the grooming salon and we've really noticed a difference in the…read moreservice since some recent staff turnover. We dropped our pooch off for a bath and brush and nail clip, which usually takes 2.5 - 3 hours (but they often finish in about 1.5 - 2 hours), and never got any phone call about him being ready for pickup. After about 3.5 hours, we decided to go back to the store and find out what's going on. It turns out that while all that time passed, the salon employee (AC) completed the bath and brush, but not the nails. In fact, the staff in the salon couldn't get ahold of AC to find out what was going on/where he was. This really concerned me...was our dog OK? Did something happen while we were gone? The nail clip and grind ended up being completed by a female employee who was very nice. We talked to the assistant store manager, Steve, and he was really nice to deal with and was extremely apologetic about the whole ordeal. He was totally confused about everything, even to the point of being worried about his employee. He even gave us a discount on our services and basically let doggo go to town on the bowl of treats at the register. ;) I know we'll be back here because it's close to home, we've never had problems like this, and the staff here really seem to like our dog. But I will not be booking future grooming sessions with AC.

We usually only come to a Petsmart to get dog food for the dog's occasional visits to our home. Our last visit here though did involve picking up some starter feeder fish (29 cents per fish, and they are used as food for bigger fish if not sold) for the kiddos as their first pets and the friendly staffer here was helpful and a fun guy. The grand-darlings were given full responsibility for daily feeding and weekly water changing and they did ok I guess, as those fish lasted a week. They are on their second batch of slightly bigger fish, and they're still alive after a month or so, so they are improving their pet owning skills. Thank you Petsmart for adequately meeting our pet needs.

I arrived, and the other employee who was very kind checked me in. I asked if it's with the groomer to confirm. And he said "no it's with me today." I responded "oh I thought I booked with ____." The groomer heard me say this, and I didn't realize she was at the back of the room grooming another dog as i said that, but she spoke with an attitude "it's fine I'll do it." And then she muttered something unpleasant under her breath, complained, and left the room. I just took my dog and left. I am very disappointed and upset. Even in prior visits when I scheduled appointments with specific groomers, my dog came back not looking good at all. So, it makes me confident that they never give you the groomer who you specifically schedule with. That is not fair. In my prior visits too they would also cut my dog somehow. Probably because they just gave him to new groomers who are not as experienced. I already learned how to groom him myself because of how awful the grooming department is here, but I have a hard time with his nails and paw pads. I cannot emphasize my frustration enough.

The grooming sessions have been rushed and always like they were done last minute and so sloppy. Today I brought him on the dot for his 2:30pm appt and he was taken in back at 2:45pm. The drop off seemed reassuringly thorough because it was supervised by Alex the store general manager and we spent 15m selecting the length and my requests. He stated that Eun was fast and Mochi would be done about 4:30pm. I returned at 4:30pm and was told they needed another 30m. He wasn't done until 5:45pm. He was trimmed by a razor, but none of my requests were fulfilled. His legs were not stove piped (see the summer lawn pics) and his ears were too short and uneven, s well as prts of his jawline, the face was sloppy and uneven, and WORST of all his private were nicked. If I had noticed that in-store, I would have gone off. As it was I was beyond furious and needed to compose myself. Look at the pic of his poor penis. JFC what the hell.

My poor pup has had her ears all nicked up at other grooming places, she even had diarrhea for days after going to another. With Barks and Bows, there has never been a problem, I feel like the owner really listens to how I want Tilly groomed, and takes the time to do the job right. She comes out super clean and adorable with a seasonal bandana on. My dog also loves that the owner doesn't put her in a cage while she's waiting for me to pick her up. I highly recommend Barks and Bows.
