    Grant Burger

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Local bar full of friendly locals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here on a Tuesday night, which so happened to be trivia night so it was packed with happy people ready to play.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was able to find a spot at the bar, where some locals kept me company with nice conversation as I waited for my food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is full of typical bar foods; burgers, wings, sandwiches, and salad. I ordered the Grant Burger and it was decent. It's a homemade beef patty with crispy bacon and swiss cheese on top, along with a choice of veggies on Texas toast. The toast was only grilled and buttered on one side, which was a bit disappointing and it would have had more flavor if done on both. The bacon was a bit chewy too, but still had crispy sections. On the side, I got curly fries that were seasoned nicely like Arby's fries. Overall it was an average bar experience with okay food at a higher than the quality price.

    Fried Mozzarella wedges w/tomato sauce

Went for the first time tonight and our overall experience was ok. Nice folks and service was pretty quick. The food was ok, but unfortunately it was not great. We started w/Fried Mozzarella wedges. The tomato sauce was very bland & tasted like canned tomato paste. Hubs ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and was underwhelmed. He said the bun was mushy & that a sandwhich like this needs a more substantial bun. He had shoestring fries with it. He would not order this again. I ordered a House salad with Italian Vinegarette and Ava's Lasagna. The salad was fine but the dressing was bland. The Lasagna portion was a little small but with the salad it was enough. It wasn't as good as homemade and again, the sauce tasted like canned tomato paste. If we go back, I would order something different. But to be fair, this place is really a sports bar, so I think if you stick with burgers & barfood you will probably have better luck.

Great food and service. The people behind the bar make it well worth the trip. The TVs are great and are well controlled

    Wings Baby!!

There are only a few places in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area which serve great wings. This would be one of them. My wife and I were scouting this somewhat new venue to see if they were worthy of more visits and possible social gatherings. They seem to have a nice, cousy outside area with a small bar and some tables & umbrellas. Unfortunately February is not the best time for outside dining in the Lowcountry. When we came in, it was "seat yourself" even though nobody told us. Even though my tab said Bar B1, I believe our waiter was Pat and welcomed us by asking if we wanted a beverage. I asked "what's on tap" and he responded quickly with "BEER". OK, we're off to a good start--- waiter with a sense of humor. I had a Damn Yankee ( Southern Barrel IPA) while my wife had a Yuengling. Service was excellent. I ordered 12 wings---- 6 "Yikes" which are slightly hotter Buffalo style wings as well as 6 Cheddar Jalapeno (Pat recommended as well). My wife ordered the mozzarella wedges and some chips and salsa. The wings are excellent. Crispy, tender, well seasoned and sauced. Plenty of celery and blue cheese (real blue cheese dressing with chunks). The tables are plenty and good for groups. Lots of TV's and big ones at that. There are 2--4 TV screens which probably equal 100 X 100 or more. Not confirmed, but I would guess this is a Philadelphia Eagles bar. The owners came from different wing venues to start JVZ and I'm only guessing that there was an Eagles fan, Washington fan (can't say Redskins anymore), Braves and Gamecocks. Why not 5 stars? A bit disappointed they ran out of paper towels in the bathroom. Always be sure to take care of the rest rooms from a hygiene perspective as well as making sure you encourage your patrons to wash after using the facilities. We also ran out of paper towels at the table where each table gets their own roll of paper towels. I hope there's not a paper towel shortage at JVZ. When eating wings, keeping your fingers clean is a must!!

    Buffalo and lemon Pepper wings

Best wings hands down! We ordered the lemon pepper wings and homemade onions rings. Customer service was great. We stopped by for a quick bite since we were headed back to Richmond Hill, our server/bar tender was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

***WARNING*** DO NOT DINE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE NICKLED AND…read moreDIME On 30 January 2026, I dined-in as a first-time patron at this establishment. I ordered Scarlet Knight, Fried Mushrooms and French Dip, which overall was good. The problem occurred when I reviewed my invoice and I notice a "Convenience Fee Convenience" of $1.30 unbeknownst me. I informed the waitress that I paying with a debit card versus a credit card so the charge should me removed. The waitress informed the manager in the back and he stated, "that's how we've done and we can't remove the fee. I educated the waitress/manager by law, it's illegal to (1) charge a patron the fee that are using a debit card, (2) the service fee was NOT disclosed or brief to me prior to service and (3) the restaurant doesn't have any signs or language indicating that all patrons will be charged a "convenience fee". The manager was very dismissive and "matter of factly" towards my grievance. This grievance is not solely for me but to protect and advocate for ALL patrons that opt to dine at the establishment. SOLUTION: 1. Create a sign regarding a, "Auto Convenience Fee Charge for ALL Credit Cards" 2. Place a label on ALL menus so patron understand the hidden charge prior to service being render. In turn, the patron have the option to proceed, leave the establish or visit the nearest ATM for cash. 3. Brief all employees to provide a disclaimer to all patrons so their options or rights are taken away. I will be reporting the company to BBB for illegal business practice for forcing patrons to pay a fee that are not required for debit cardholders link: www.verabank.com Search: Convenience Fee

Surprisingly roomy with two separate dining rooms and a third with a bar and more tables. Service was quick, but a little too quick. Our appetizer, salads and entrees all arrived at the same time crowding our little table. We ordered onion rings to start. Let me tell you: these were the best I've ever had. Positively delicious. But no sauce!!! So I made my own with ketchup and hot sauces. Chicken picata was good. Chicken a Parmesan and crab stuffed grouper were also ok. Salmon was decent. There was a huge selection of sandwiches and some yummy desserts. We all had a good meal. A little pricey for what got. But I still recommend.

My husband is a sucker for spinach artichoke dip and we gave theirs a try. We both really liked it, but we were sort of fighting over it since there was so little of it. For our entree, the stuff was super accommodating and let us split the Italian beef sandwich. Points to the staff for giving me the plate with the pickle spear! Also points to the staff for the warning about the spicy giardiniara. I still got it and enjoyed it, but was still a little (pleasantly!) surprised. We each enjoyed our half of the sandwich. Very Chicago-esque atmosphere inside, surely to appeal to those traveling from that area, or who miss home. The food was great, the staff was excellent. Check them out if you're missing your midwestern food!

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
