4 years later and they still have the BEST key lime ever!!! We tried their cocktails - Moonarita (moonshine margarita) and Front Porch (peach Tea perfection!). Enjoyed the Tomato Stack and Pimento Cheese, both were delicious and would get again.

    The brick of meatloaf.

We ordered takeaway shortly after they opened. The food was mediocre at best. The meatloaf was... a dry, bland brick. The Shrimp and Mushroom Cobbler was filled with mushrooms and shrimp, but the biscuit was on the bottom and everything just tasted like cream and butter. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits--it was the best thing we ordered but definitely not 3rd in the world. On the upside, the Fried Green Tomatoes were good. The Pimento Cheese was good, but much better with the tortilla chips vs. the pita. We really wanted to like this place, but no one really liked their food and looks like we'll be ordering pizza tonight.

My husband and I are visiting the island for the first time and were looking for somewhere casual yet charming with great food, this place was exactly that. I had the soup of the day (a crab and shrimp bisque) along with the fried green tomato BLT, and my husband ordered the grilled BBQ chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and a side of baked mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we would happily order it all again. They also had some of the best sweet tea I've ever had. Cookie was our waitress, she was warm, attentive, and very informative, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Today my $32 shrimp & grits has no flavor at all! Husband tried the crab cakes, so much filler it was ridiculous What happened to this place?

We went August 6th and sat for 2 hours before receiving our food. We got there at 5:30 We were told only 2 cooks Food was good just not worth the wait. Family there next to us waited 1.5 hours for meatloaf. Another family had appetizers and waited almost 2 hours for food

Currently in a drive thru for Wendy's because our meal was so lackluster. To begin, we were sat in what felt like a friends garage. Boring music, boring environment, staff tried to be engaging and friendly but it wasn't hitting. We waited over an hour for food and the place was mostly empty. One other table in this "garage". Food was so basic, and disappointing, I'm not a great cook, but I could've done better. You should've seeeen the "fresh catch"... I swear I overheard one of the staff mention it came from a Cisco truck. Please just don't even waste your time here. Prices alone should keep you out. Enjoy the pic of my sisters $26 fish sandwich.

We just love this place. We spend 3-4 weeks a year in HHI and Low Country is always at the top of our list Service Friendliness Dining under the Umbrellas The tomato sandwich with Pimento Cheese Of course the best shrimp and grits in the low country hands down Love this place!

I'm sad to say that our dinner here was not good. While the decorations are charming and the shrimp and grits are amazing, those were to only 2 positives about our experience. The bad: our server/hostess had a bossy attitude and was unpleasant. All the food (besides the shrimp and grits) was mediocre at best. The mashed potatoes were cold and flavorless. Meatloaf was dry and disappointing. The macaroni salad and fried green tomatoes were just okay. Lastly, the food is extremely overpriced and NOT worth the price. I remember this place being a family favorite years ago but after our recent experience, I don't plan on returning.

    Do they take reservations?

Website shows no, but also gives you hints on how to it have to wait an extended amount of time. We've always got their early enough that we've not had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes.

    Is there live music?

Yes, but check with the restaurant on what days they have music

    Is there happy hour?

    No, no happy hour.

Are dogs allowed in outdoor seating? I tried calling but no answer.

Service dogs are allowed, but general pets are not.

Are dogs on a leash allowed at the outdoor dining area?

    No.

We were lucky to get seated outside because the live music and views were immaculate. The oysters were super fresh.. so fresh in fact we found a little crab in one of them. We got it replaced promptly by our friendly waiter for a new one! I got the scallop risotto. It was good but not my favorite. The sauce was creamy but somewhat bland, which allowed for the perfectly cooked scallops to shine. My mom got the seafood pasta which was fantastic and flavorful. We met the manager who made the effort to talk to and get to know us! If we are back in Hilton Head, we will be back here!

The high-tops outside are great because they're completely covered, while the tables with umbrellas still get sun depending on where the sun is. They have several powerful fans outdoors plus the seating is comfortable with a great view of the trees, boat, and water. The crab punch cocktail was good, but the crab coconut rum tasted a little odd to me (their exclusive brand). I preferred the salty Chihuahua cocktail. All drinks are thankfully strong (everywhere else on the island they were weak). The Jalapeño hush puppies seem like they are made in-house, and they're very flavorful & crunchy. The hush puppies came with honey butter which was also amazing. The lunch grilled grouper fish taco was delicious & fresh. The salsa on it was very flavorful! The house-made potato chips are also great. Service was great (not rushed). They do need drink coasters (water was all over the table). We came back for dinner. They had live music. Abby& Taylor were the two different servers we had and they were both amazing. They did not rush us. The fried green tomatoes were very good with lots of pimento cheese and crunchy unlike the ones we had at Old Oyster Factory. The pineapple Mojito was good. Overall great experience!

Sit at the bar or grab a table and the service is FAST but the food is very good for a tiki shack kind of environment. We particularly liked the fish sandwich and fish tacos. Also I can never resist tater tots so it's automatically a winner. Everyone is in bathing suits and there's shower washes and things to rinse your feet off as you enter so no worries about doing anything except walking off the sand and then walking back out! Pro Tip: Check the chalkboards for fun drink specials and don't miss out on the spicy margarita

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.
