Salmon sandwich with chips and Zing sauce
    Sylvia S.

Quick and easy dinner at the Hilton Head location. Friendly service and while the food menu wasn't that big (seemed like a big drink menu emphasis), what we ate was great: Oysters Rockefeller and a salmon sandwich! The chips had some type of spicy seasoning that still retained its flavor the next day, and stayed crunchy. Appreciate that there was live music on the patio!

FALAFEL BITES and 7 WINGS with chips

I visited for an early dinner with a friend. We got seated quickly and enjoyed the laid back vibe. Our server was helpful with the menu options. We even got to speak with the manager and learned about the wooden nickel voucher. I settled on the wings with chips and a lemony thicket drink. My friend got the falafel bites. The dank sauce was surprising good on the wings. We also learned the menu will be changing and I look forward to seeing what's new at my next visit.

I'm from Savannah and was taking my dog to HHI beach for her birthday! Last year, we were asked to leave a neighboring business who was not dog friendly (although completely outdoors), so I am thrilled to have a dog friendly bar and restaurant that I already know and love on HHI. For starters, I was shocked to see how large both the inside and outside dining areas are. I was thrilled to see the restrooms were indoors too! Savannah and Tybee restrooms are outside the bar. The outdoor patio was next to a small lagoon that was home to several alligators. This is typical for this area, so keep an eye on your small pets over there. The staff was so friendly and welcoming to my birthday girl (dog) and my friend's dog who were both with us. They provided an XL water bowl full to the top. We ordered a Lekkr spread and Slaap Chips to start. Slaap chips were on $5 special for 26 Club members, and hummus at Zunzibar is a must. For dinner, my friends ordered falafel bites, wings, and a godfather sandwich. I enjoyed the Oliver's lunch bowl with falafel, which pairs perfectly with the Shit Yeah sauce. I also enjoyed the cactus pear pomegranate margarita, which was $4 off for 26 Club happy hour. All of my friends are in the 26 Club (texting club, you need to sign up if you aren't in it!). We all received 10% off our checks for happy hour. We asked two servers for plates, napkins and utensils when the apps came out and never received them. We did get utensils with the entrees but we're on our own for sharing the apps. At the end, we asked for to go cups for our teas and waters and did not receive them. The bar was not busy at all, so the extra attention to details with this would have been great. This was not a deterrent from returning or losing a star on their review though!

    Falafel on a sub roll

The atmosphere was very casual and bright. Family place for sure. The server was attentive and nice. It was kind of quiet since the crazy season had not officially begun. I ordered the pound of crab legs, which were cooked very well and came with no sides, just clarified butter. For $26 there should be at least one side. My wife ordered the falafel roll. These balls of falafel came out on a sub roll. Kind of overkill for falafel. The hot chips were cold. She said they were tasty but didn't eat all of the bread. I got a side salad and it was fine. They ass 2.6% for their food guarantee. If you don't like the food they'll refund your money with a gift card? I would imagine it's for the same restaurant. A little weird. They had live music and he was pleasant and sang low key music. Nice touch. Fun place, but there's better food on the island. A little pricey for sure. Apps limited. Probably wouldn't go a second time.

Delicious. Our first restaurant stop at Hilton Head. Delicious. We got the salmon sandwich with lettuce wrap. The mega sandwich with 2 sausages and chicken and some wings. Everything was great. All the sauces and dips were great. Everything was well seasoned and the homemade chips were fabulous. Service / waiters were really nice and inviting. We ate outside on the patio which was very pleasant as well.

I loved the Savannah location so I was excited to try the Hilton Head location! I love the size of this location and the amount of tables they have! I love that the bar is in the middle and they have outdoor seating. They also have a cornhole set up outside as well. Our waiter Kenny was nice, attentive and friendly. The other waitress, bartender and hostess were all friendly as well. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious! They are known for their sauces and they are delicious! We signed up for the 26 club and were given free koozie's. There is plenty of parking and the bathrooms are clean! I recommend trying this location if you are in the area!

12/10. Came to Zunzibar on a Monday evening and was immediately so happy we did. There was incredible live music (that had the perfect volume - I we were sitting closest to him and never felt like we were yelling to talk or that it was overwhelming), the drinks were amazing, and the service was top notch. If you want somewhere that has great drinks, a laid-back atmosphere, and Instagram-worthy decor, definitely check them out! We will absolutely be back.

    Conquistador

This is a cool new spot in HHI. We enjoyed frozen spicy mango margaritas, wings, and their sauce flight with chips, as well as the Conquistador sandwich. Their menu is a mix of American, Greek, and Indian flavors. The chips are dark, crispy, and appear house made. Served naked, the wings were meaty, and my husband enjoyed the spicier sauces on the sauce flight along with them. I enjoyed dipping the chips into the chutney, which was a sweet and salty experience! The Conquistador sandwich was served on fresh and soft French bread, and the chicken was marinated/seasoned with the most delicious flavors. Topped with lettuce, tomato, parmesan cheese, and dressing, each bite was heavenly! Service was fast and friendly. Recently opened, they are in their infancy and not getting the crowds they should. The food is exceptional, so I predict that soon there will be a wait. There was great music on the patio, and there's cornhole, picnic tables and Adirondack chairs out front. I did think the inside dining and bar was too brightly lit, but it could also be interpreted as clean and bright. It's all subjective. Either way, it's a must try for a meal in Hilton Head.

Found this gem on our visit to HHI. Great place, great service, amazing food. We ordered the peri peri wings, falafel bites and kids' meals. Service was quick. All our food was delicious. I wish I had got the larger size of wings because 10 weren't enough after our 7-year old decided to dig in too The falafel with tzatziki sauce was delicious too. The mango tango drink was delicious. It's pre-made so they can bring you a sample to try before you order. Can't wait to be back on our next visit!

We love Zunzi's and have visited the flagship location in Savannah several times. We were excited to check out the new Hilton Head location and we could've have had a better experience! Everything was delicious--The Conquistador is hands down our favorite chicken sandwich. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. Dawn went above and beyond and we can't wait to eat here again!

Awesome, ultra dog friendly spot with delicious nachos and tasty frozen cocktails. Solid service as well, will definitely be back!!

    Seafood Feast for 2

My wife and I ate here while we spent a week in HH. We ate out every night we were there. This was not originally on our list of must try restaurants but we stumbled across this one after deciding not to drive far for dinner one night. First impression when we got there (empty parking lot) was "wow this place is either closed or the food is awful". We waited at least 30 minutes at every other restaurant we went to in HH, but we walked right in and were seated immediately. There was one table taken and like 3 people at the bar. We basically already knew we wanted the seafood feast but the waitress talked us into the chips (which were a cool appetizer, some of the sauces I bet are great on wings BTW). The crab, shrimp, and sides were great. We had crab legs a few times that week and these may have been the best! A plus was that the service was great! Our waitress was very attentive but not annoying considering we were probably her only table for at least the first 30 minutes we were there. With all of that said: -food was great (especially for the quantity and price) and I highly recommend this spot if you're visiting. I think even after the chips, the feast, and a few beers we spent like $110 with tip. I am still so shocked at how dead this place was. Try it out if you're in Hilton head!!

    The chip and dip appetizer!

The drinks, food, service and atmosphere are amazing. Best food value on Hilton Head Island. We ate here twice while on vacation because it was that good!

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. Rare 5 star from us.

I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
