Hi Everyone, Where can you go to enjoy lunch or diner while you and your friends play a three games of pool? Yes, this is an age old question that has tried Men's souls for over a decade, lol. The ambiance here is a bar and grill decor, you know dark, and laid back so you can relax as you enjoy your lunch or dinner. However, I do not recommend it after 7:00 PM which should cover about 70% of us Low Country patrons. Their service was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. My 16 year old Grandson who was visiting for our annual, golf, beach, fishing, and fondu diners and what ever adventure we enjoy together. You know, the visit which you have done with him and his Sister all of their lives, meaning, each year since they were born while you give their Parents a rest which they have always appreciated for a couple of weeks, or, in few years, a month. But as many of us have experienced 16 is a challenging age for almost all youth just as it was for you and I. In our day, many of us were working in the summer at that age but today, I am very happy to say, many of our Grandchildren will now rotate their friends into their summer jobs which is smart, while they are gone, and are now available for visits. But what to do that do to entertain your digital challenged linage? Some of whom only venture outside at night at 16 as they feel the extreme heat of our days can stifle even the heartiest our souls. You still want them to feel you are cool, like when you, and they were younger and you visited Ft. Jackson in Savannah, or to the Tall Ships that were docked, Putt Golf, the Kazoo factory, days trips on the Pirate Ship, The Beaufort Water Festival for everything to MoTown Monday while dancing and singing along, to Bed and Raft races, Bocce, or The Chocolate Tree or summer camp each year for a week, or for trips to St. Augustine, or Disney World. But at 16 that dog just don't hunt. So what is a cool Grandpa to do? I decided we would venture out to enjoy some fried gator (tastes like chicken), which he had never eaten before, and which were perfectly prepared. Their Burgers were delicious with an excellent taste. We had a great time together playing pool, while laughing at a few of our shots, and talking while hanging out together.. And you know, he really had a great time doing what some of the time, I enjoyed doing in my youth. So if you feel you need to revisit your youth, possibly with your next generation, or just want enjoy a leisurely meal and libation with some friends, we can recommend Tailgators Bar and Grill for some, with Grandson, or none. We stopped by on the way back from Beaufort but only got a few drinks. We sat at a high top by the bar and were able to watch the third place World Cup game. Service was amazing. Several people came over to check on us, even though we only got drinks. The bar is a nice set up, and placement of the pool tables helps with the overall interior flow of the place. We've been to some bar/grilles with pool tables and they're placed in front of the bar of common area and it causes a feeling of chaos. Great layout here! Plenty of parking and great staff. Great, local spot and spacious inside with pool tables. Sit anywhere you'd like and the waitress brings over menus. Unfortunately, it's louder than average so difficult to talk. Now onto the food. Wings are delicious and crispy! Pulled pork was very yummy but the chips need a seasoning. The relish with chopped jalapeños was tasty. The bourbon chicken with rice was very good & filling. Last night was my third visit to Tailgators. IMHO: It has good food for a bar. Last night I had a Reuben sandwich with coleslaw as my side dish and both were tasty. Although the bottom side of the Reuben was soggy, it was a bit messy to eat but tasty none the less. The team service is surprising efficient, and my food came fairly quickly considering how busy the place was. P.S. On my last visit in March a friend of mine (that retired to Sun City) suggested that I have their broccoli. It is by far the best broccoli that I have ever had! My friend knows the owner and it took him four years before the owner revealed how they prepare it. I suggest that you try it and decide for yourself. read more

We are visiting this area, and tried Tailgators Bar and Grille on a whim! We are so glad we stopped here!!! Taylor, our waitress, was phenomenal! Dan, also stopped by our table to check on everything! He was wonderful to talk with, we had a lot in common!!! As far as the food goes, it was GREAT.....we did not have a long wait, and the food was piping hot! My husband had the club sandwich and onion rings, I had their pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans. We were both impressed on the food, the onion rings were the best we've ever had! From the outside you may think this is your typical biker bar. While inside you'll see the many pool tables, a nice bar area surrounded by separate table for dining or hanging out. My wife and I along with 2 other friends had just come back from Riverton Pointe Golf and looking for some grub and libations. Jason was our waiter and an excellent one as well. My wife ordered a Yuengling @ $3.25 pint while I had a draft Pernicious @ $7.75. A bit pricey for draft beer, but was good. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($13) which was better than expected. I would almost think they smoke it there themselves. Moist, tasty and not too sauced. My wife had the regular Quesadilla ($10) which she thought was perfect. A solid little sports bar dive bar in Okatie. The ambiance is what you would expect a sports bar with a nice set of pool tables to one side. So it's loud at times so don't consider it for a catch up lunch with an elementary school friend. The food is really good dive bar food. I have had the wings, dry rub is the way to go. A solid burger as well especially if you get the bacon and egg. Maybe a tad salty? A nice surprise is that not everything is fried. The shrimp basket and the chicken sandwiches can be grilled or blackened amongst other things. Also two words : tater tots Service is spot on and it's cheap. Just arrived at Hilton Head Island and was desperate to find a sports bar to watch the Philly Eagles. Found Tailgators and was pleasantly surprised. I had a beer and the special prime rib sandwich. This business sucks. We drove over 30 minutes to get there on a Thursday night. Everywhere we could find said they were open from 11-2 on Thursdays. Not only that, but we called several times on our way and they didn't answer, but the message on their answering service repeated those hours so we just figured they were busy. We got there about 6:30 pm. The lights were on and people were inside but the door was locked. No one came to the door despite the fact we stood there looking in. A. Went on a Tuesday night, it was pretty crowded as they had a pool league going on. Bar area was packed, we were greeted by a server and told we could sit wherever we wanted. Looking around so not to be in a too loud of an area, another person ( assumed mgr ) took us around to the other side of the bar to a high top. The food was good, I had the blackened gator bites which were very good and my wife and I had burgers. The service was a little lacking. After sitting down, the server came over, took our drink order. It took a little longer than expected but it finally arrived. We ordered food and it came out timely. Another server walked by, saw my empty glass and asked if I wanted another drink. I said yes and told him what I wanted, he never returned.
